The Digital Scrapbook Company

Audrey Foekens, Moderator

Audrey is a Christian stay-at-home Mom and lives in Western Canada with her husband and five children(ages 9, 10, 12, 14, 16). After homeschooling for about 9 years, she is now busy with other things since the children started attending school last year. She thought she would have more time on her hands, but for some reason that does not seem to be the case. She spends at least one day per week helping in the school library among other tasks.

Audrey began digital scrapbooking 5 years ago after getting a new iMac computer, along with a scanner, a colour printer, and CorelPrintHouse2000. She started scanning pictures to send them to her relatives, and rather than simply duplicating the photos, figured it would be nice to add some frames & journaling to the photos. Her first big scrapbooking project was making a 12-page photo calendar for her sister and her family.

Then, when her mouse broke down, she bought the Wacom Tablet and Mouse, which came bundled with PhotoshopLE(Limited Edition). Around that time, she searched online for information about computer scrapbooking, and met other like-minded people, several of whom are now team members of DSP! Learning Photoshop was tough with the PSLE, since it had only one "undo" and no layer styles or effects. In 2002, she received PSE2.0 and now uses it as her programme of choice for all of her scrapbooking.

She loves sewing, gardening, tole painting, and photography. She has fun experimenting with her sony cyber shot point-&-shoot camera, and recently started using her older slr again(Canon AE-1), after it had been collecting dust for a while. She hopes to get a dslr in the not-too-distant future. Her girls have also taken up the art of photography, while the boys are more interested in videography. They've all tried their hand at computer
scrapbooking and they're learning quickly, so it will be interesting to see where this takes them. . .
