Carole grew up in Allen Park, Michigan, and moved to a rural area near Lansing 25 years ago. She has been married to her wonderful husband Neal for 29 years, and they have a daughter Chloe, who is 13 going on 40! They live in a 150 year old farmhouse on 5 acres, which they share with Sally, the black Lab, and their clowder of cats. The house is currently undergoing the world's slowest renovation, which she hopes to have finished before she is too feeble-minded to enjoy it!
Carole has always been creative, and spent many happy hours as a child building dollhouses and furniture out of shoe boxes, empty toilet paper rolls, thread spools, and anything else she could she could scrounge up around the house, a budding recycler! She loves all kinds of crafts and needlework, and over the years has tried everything from woodburning to ceramics. Her current passion is jewelry making. She loves to design and wear her own custom pieces, and her collection is growing at an alarming rate. Her philosophy is that one can never have too many dangly earrings! She also loves drawing and painting as well, and is a self-taught artist. Her preferred medium is acrylics, and she will paint anything that does not move!
She began scrapbooking when her daughter was small, and over the years has amassed a huge collection of (mostly) well-organized paper scrapbooking supplies, which are currently collecting dust in her favorite room in the house, the computer/craft room that she designed and her husband built for her. Carole made the switch to digital a year ago when she discovered DSP. Her traditional style scrapping friends good-naturedly like to tease her about "going over to the dark side" as they call it! She loves it here at DSP, especially the contests and challenges, and has made many wonderful friends from around the world. Carole first tried her hand at design, when she entered the Designer Finder Contest. She was delighted to discover a new creative outlet for her artistic skill, and it didn't take long before she was passionately hooked! She is honored and excited to be invited to join the DSP team, and her dream is to someday be able to meet all of her DSP friends and family in person.
When she is not at her computer, some of her other favorite activites include reading (especially Beverly Lewis and JD Robb), playing the piano, watching reality TV, and crying over sad movies. She is totally addicted to video and computer games, especially the Sims2, and has downloaded over 5,000 custom objects for her game! Every three months Carole and her good friends Julie, Cathy, Linda, and Marie, rent a large cottage near a lake, and spend a long weekend scrapping, watching movies, eating chocolate, and hanging out. Now life just doesn't get any better than that!
