The Digital
Scrapbook Company

Jennifer Hutchison, Moderator
Jennifer is, well let’s just say she’s “young
at heart!” She lives in a suburb of Seattle, Washington with her
six children and husband of 22 years. Her kids range in age from 2 to
20 years with four boys and two girls. Her family is everything to her
and her inspiration for her scrapping and photography art.
Jennifer started paper scrapping back in 1997 but soon grew tired of
the mess it created while out and having to keep it packed up with all
the little fingers always around to explore the cool paper and scissors.
Her love for photography and all things electronic naturally blended into
digital scrap booking. A self-proclaimed computer nerd was finally finding
her crafting niche inside the big box plugged into the wall. Her style
tends to be more graphic as she comes at it with a photographer’s
eye.
She started in photography back in the early 90’s when she begged
for a camera and her husband, Jeff, told her she’d have to learn
to use his old, totally manual, Pentax K1000. She couldn’t even
figure out how to turn it on much less control the funny sounding names
like aperture, f-stop, and shutter speed. And how in the world all that
would relate to each other to create a photograph. Hungry for knowledge
and a creative outlet, she checked out every book her library had on photography
and studied, shot, developed, played, kept notes and taught herself the
art. Going digital back in 1999 was the coolest thing ever…. Computers,
cameras, crafting… it all became a wonderful way to preserve memories
and a way to escape into her own world. Currently she is first in line
for the newest, greatest, and fastest gear she can afford. The Nikon D200
is the newest baby in the family.
