The Digital Scrapbook Company

Melissa Green, DSU Instructor

Melissa Green lives in West Virginia with her 2 children and her husband, Bruce, whom she married in 1997. She has always done something creative: crochet, crafts and even is has been a decorative painting instructor. In real life, she holds the title of Cosmetologist and Clinical Phlebotomist. She is also active in raising money for Autism Speaks, a national non-profit organization that serves to fund research for Autism cause and treatment, and helps families, like her own, with ideas and resources for helping a loved one on the Autism Spectrum.

Melissa has always loved the idea of preserving memories that are dear to her, but didn't love the mess or trying to find storage space that comes with paper scrapbooking. In 2006, after seeing scrapbooking software in the store, she and her best friend "Google" searched for more information on this unique and messless way of scrapping. DSP was at the top of the list and the first place she clicked. Needless to say, the rest is history!

Melissa says, "Digital Scrapbooking is so therapeutic and the community at DSP is the most warm and welcome community I have ever met." Melissa's husband has always been very supportive of any endeavor she tries. He bought for her a new laptop and a DSLR camera with 2 new lenses so she can enjoy her two favorite hobbies. He often tells her friends that you wouldn't know her if the laptop wasn't sitting on her lap and that this small wonderful device has now become another appendage.

Melissa began digital scrapbooking with Paint Shop Pro 7 that her sister gave her, and quickly moved on to Photoshop Elements 5, and now she uses Photoshop CS3. She is a Digital Elite Team (DET) Alumni and has been published many times online. Her hopes are that soon all the submitting work will pay off and she will be published in a print magazine.
