Tara Dactyl, Moderator & Community Manager
An avid paper scrapper since high school ("My pages were so simple back then," Tara laments), she made the switch to digital when she got her first digital camera. "I just didn’t see the point in printing out my pictures and then creating pages when I could do it all on my computer and print out a finished product," she explains. She immediately stumbled upon DSP and has called it "home" ever since.
Contrary to popular opinion, Tara's (aka OrangeSue's) favorite color is NOT orange and "Sue" is not a part of her name. "Sue" is part of an old college nickname that stuck and (she wants us to be very clear about this) orange is her favorite UGLY color. Hmmm…if that is true, Tara, then why can orange be found in almost every corner of your tiny home?!
A 6th grade teacher, Tara loves bringing creativity into the classroom, using Photoshop to make posters and writing parodies of popular songs to help her students learn about ancient civilizations. Tara admits that, when not at her computer or in the classroom, she has a penchant for "old lady" crafts. Summer vacation and Sunday afternoons are perfect for quilting ("I love all the colors, fabrics, and designs," she exclaims), reading, or cross-stitching.
If you're looking to bribe Tara or bring a much-appreciated treat to a DSP crop, plain M&Ms, gummi bears, Slurpees, and Jujyfruits are obvious choices. If you wish to arrange for a pineapple & olive pizza to be delivered to her house or perhaps order a round of virgin strawberry daiquiris in her honor, you are certain to become a close friend…
