Collage ideas

I'm getting a little frustrated as I am just wanting to do a simple collage with a range of photos to then just cut out and scrap on paper. Picture it doesn't appear to have something simple to do this with. Should I use the label sheet? or is there something I'm missing somewhere.
Also I still don't understand why some photos go into the stack and others into files. I've done several projects with the program but this collage thing could be so simple, I'm sure.
What happened to all the other threads pertaining to this program?

Hi,
Not a lot of people use PI/DIP. Create a new canvas, open all the photos you want, and arrange them on the page - resize as needed.
I'm not sure why some go in the stack and others don't.
