Breeze through your favorites and scraplift something??? Start with a piece of word art you love and find a pic that is perfect for it? Pick a kit you have never used and go snap some pictures that will match?

Do something else entirely! I will sew, quilt, read a book...or get out somewhere. Go for a walk - shoot some more photos...really, just getting out helps. Something will inspire you, and you'll be at it again. We're addicted to digi-scrapping and nothing really takes us away for long!

Believe it or not, do a round of power scrapping. It worked for me.

When I get in a slump, I take my camera and go on a photo shoot in the woods, down the block, to the park. Anywhere that you like. I've even been guilty of taking pictures from the 5th floor of the parking garage where I work! Nothing like a birds eye view!
Elizabeth, I was feeling a bit slumpy (is that a word?), too, and then I discovered that I haven't been taking many pictures lately. And the ones I had taken weren't inspiring me. So, I got snap happy! Now I'm getting the urge to scrap again with some of these new pics!

The other thing that just worked for me was scanning a bunch of 40 year old photos. I've been meaning to scrap that honeymoon photo of my husband for years!

You know what just worked for me? Using a plopper or two, just to feel like I've gotten something accomplished. Sometimes using a sketch and not having to think too much about placement of pictures and journaling, really seems to take the pressure off for me.

Elizabeth-
Somehow scraplifting helps me.

I work on the story.
Think about something I want to remember.
Do the journaling first and worry about finding the picture second.
I'm in a bit a slump too - I have a couple ideas for layouts but they aren't coming together.
(sigh)
It's probably a good thing! My family misses me! LOL
(but I do so miss turning out a layout that I just love - I haven't done that in a while!)

Joining the slump...lol:eek: Elizabeth you are not alone.... I remember from Bethy's slump last year that exercise is a good way to counter the blues, just been for a walk and off to the gym later I am spending less time on my computer... and I am with Samara, and Glynis I just Plopped a few photo's on ploppers and dug out my stash of sketches, nothing too stressful.....and guess what I don't feel guilty scraplifting all my wonderful scrapping friends anymore....in fact I find that triggers more creativity........ Hey I just got a scrapping anticipation tingle at the thought of scraplifting ROFL maybe giving you some suggestions has just helped me :D
and special last tip for my Pregnant scrapping friend..... Journal, Journal journal your thoughts, through this pregnancy, take pictures of you and hubby, your home and family as you are now maybe as an intro to who you are and where you came from as a Welcome little mini album to read to bubby when it arrives...... in fact this would be a good one for anyone to do pregnant of not .... that precious book of you/me ?? ....... I still need to do one for Timothy and he is 5.5 !!!!
OK off to do a bit of plopping before I go to the gym.....
Let us know how you go

I just had a thought - when I was pg with my son, I kept a web site from his point of view. I listed what was going on with his development (from some book or web site) and how I was feeling, pictures, newest purchases, latest doctor's appointments - but all told from his point of view.
Maybe try journaling from a different point of view - it's kinda neat to do and sometimes gives you a fresh perspective.

These are all wonderful ideas. I think anyone would learn a lot from doing any one of them.

Luckily I haven't hit a slump yet, but I've only been doing this for a week. I've started making a "wish" list of all the things I want to do (things I've seen in the gallery or in magazines) and figure that when I hit a slump, I can look at the wish list and hope something will inspire me. At night my mind is going a mile a minute that I can hardly sleep! I try to count sheep but I end up putting them in different layouts!

When Im in a slump I like to go browse the galleries to get inspiration! Also, I dig out my scrapping magazine pages that Ive torn out and saved so I go through there to get inspiration.

Thanks gals!!! Well I'm going to try and finish up getting the cabinets into the scraproom....I think that will help alot...alittle more organization couldn't hurt.
I'm also going to start working on those pictures I have for my SIL's baby album.....babies are always cute and inspirational :-)
I'm hoping to start working on those tonight...at least alittle bit.

I hit a major slump at the end of November and then December - nothing seemed to work but I have to admit Stacey's Journaling class kind of brought my focus back to why I do this. But I also gave myself permission not to worry if I don't get tons of layouts done in a week - I really want my kids/family to remember each and every detail in our lives and sometimes that means getting away from the computer and just being a mom who doesn't scrapbook. Find it very rewarding.....and now I feel renewed per se.....hope this helps!

OH MY GOSH!!! So i'm kind of over it...or atleast i'm feeling much more inspired!!! I started working on my pregnancy journal again. I really loved looking through the gallery the last few days (posted over 300 comments) I really love seeing all the NKOTB and how they've grown from one version to the next. But the February Sketch challenge seems to be the perfect sketch...not too complicated no pressure....so I decide this morning to tackle the Telling the Family page using that sketch. I was almost late to work b/c i didn't want to leave I was on such a roll. I hope to finish it up tonight and post a link here for you all. I'm using Marcee Duggar's CHerished Memories Kit...recolored to a pink & brown scheme. OH THANKS GALS!!! I'm excited and motivated!!!!!

Oh boy am I in a slump. I have so many LOs I really should be doing after the holidays, but really can't find any motivation to get working on them. I keep looking over other LOs in the gallery, but nothing seems to inspire me. Maybe I should just skulk around in the background for awhile, lol.

Jan, Have you tried using a sketch??? I actually got out of my slump by participating in this month's sketch challenge.
Also if you don't feel like actually doing a layout try designing some sketches...it might get you inspired to do some layouts...but if you participate in the sketch challenge you can win a free kit from Stacey Jewell Stahl!!! (check out the link in my signature)
Either way, I learned that it's okay not to want to scrap all the time and that those pictures will always be waiting so when my inspiration does come then I'll be ready.
I hope you get out of this slump soon. :-)

When I get in a slump with my scrapping, I go to my quilting for a while. It's okay to take a break. Actually refreshes you and gives you new ideas. I also go for a day trip to the mountains or to the ocean to clear the cobwebs

I might have to look into this Elizabeth, thanks.
I have given scrapbooking a break for awhile already Lavender. I didn't do any all over Christmas, or for the past 1 or 2 weeks :( . I have 3 LO that I just can't get motivated to finish. But thanks for the suggestions. I'm sure it will pass  .
