Hi everyone,

I have some questions regarding submitting layouts to scrapsubmit.com:

1) Do you only submit layout(s) after a particular magazine has asked for a certain type/theme or if there's a particular contest? Is that when you complete the "calls" or "contest" portions of scrapsubmit.com only? Or do you submit on a regular basis? If so, is that when you complete the "standard submissions" portion only?

2) I saw where the layout has to be less than 100K - I assume you use a .jpg format? So, would it be safe to say that the way I resize for posting at DSP would be the same way I would resize for submitting to scrapsubmit.com?

Thanks for any info!

HI!

If there are specific calls your layout may fit then you would want to submit to them first since those are layouts that they are actively seeking. If there are no calls that are relevant to a layout you really want to submit then by all means send it over anyway as noted in the first section of scrapsubmit. I submit ALL of mine whether they are looking for a specific call or not....I have been bad lately but finally submitted a few myself last night and all of mine wer NOT sent to any specific call...

and yes, you can use the file you use for DSP uploads....jpeg is correct!!!

:-)

People who get published a lot submit almost everything. Just to the general calls, and to the specific if a call happens to fit that particular layout.

Scrapsubmit lets you submit any previously submitted layout to another call, so if it wasn't published and you see a call that fits it, just click to submit it again; you can even edit the info first if needed.

I save all my layouts under 100k for Yahoo attachments and publishers, so I just reuse my DSP uploads to submit.

Haven't done hardly any submitting though. Need to do a bunch more now that class writing has settled down some.

Good luck!
