Gorgeous photos and love the winter look! I like to put some sort of edge around my stuff like a grungy chalk edge maybe. There's a bit of a gap above the large photo, you could add an embellishment of some sort like a silver snowflake. Have a fiddle around with some of the freebie things, there's heaps of interesting stuff in there. I love the sparkle overlay that was in the golden christmas freebie. It looks great over wintry scenes. Have fun playing around. I have worn out my "undo" button!
Valerie-Thanks for the comments(and everybody else!).Were can i get the sparkle overlay from christmas freebie.Im not having any look finding it.

Im not really sure about the title going down the side. Its hard to read and also a little distracting from the photos. But you did a GREAT job on this LO!

Hi pbo! The sparkle overlay is part of "Snowglobe Kit Add On" freebie by Lauren. There's a picture of a golden christmas tree in the gallery for the freebie kit section. It's from December 2004. I've used it on lots of things for a bit of zing!

I think your first attempt is VERY nice. I like the feathering, but think it is a little heavy ( for example, not enough of her hair is showing in the upper right photo--feathered in too much). I don't see anything wrong with the letters for Winter going down the side. I think it would be fun to scatter them (like they were snowflakes), working with each letter a little smaller, and not in an exact line, not each of the same size even, but still definitely spelling out the word on the left side. There are always so many possibilities, but I love your first attempt, it is soft, chilly and cute!

AWE! What a nice job you did for you first layer project. Layers can seem tricky but you will soon realize that "LAYERS ARE YOUR FRIEND." If you find yourself overwhelmed with them, (too many), you can create "layer sets." Just go to the arrow located to the upper right of the layers pallette. There you'll find a drop down menu. Choose "new layer set", name it if you wish, (RULE OF THUMB IS TO ALWAYS NAME YOUR LAYERS), and simply drag and drop the layers you want into that new layer set. For example, if you are creating a frame and it has 5 invidual layers. Create a "new layer set", name it "frame" and drag all related layers into that set. You will still be able to work on eack layer individually, you are just getting them out of your way...hope that makes sense...
As far as your layout. I would consider a "drop shadow" on the text. I think it would make the text POP! Other than that, nice job at your first attemp at layers.
