I've made a tag in PSP7 using layers. The tag itself is one layer and the fiber through the eyelet is another layer. I saved it in the PSP format so whenever I open it, it has a transparent background. How do I save it so I can share it? I tried saving it as a PNG but when you open it, the transparent parts in and between the fibers are white because I had to merge the layers in order to save it as a PNG. Can someone tell me what to do with the PSP image so I can share the tag?
Thank you so much.

Hi Cheryl,
I am a newbie to PSP8 and had the same problem, until I read somewhere that one can change that in file/export/optimize png files (my version is not in English, so it might be called differently, I'm just translating it as I go). There is one thing called transparency, where you can choose "keep original settings". When you choose that, the transparency will be kept.
I hope this helps a bit. Let me know.

Yes, Rikki, exactly.
When saving anything for sharing, use the File>Export command
the PNG optimizer will keep the transparent background
the JPG optimizer will let you preview the file size and slide the quality to raise or lower to get a nice look within the target file size.
Here is an example of the JPG Optimizer, an excerpt from DSU 104.

The PNG one works in a similar way

Have fun! Hope this answers your questions. Be sure to let us know how it worked for you!
