got the link from one of the yahoo groups I am on.....I thought it would be a great place to learn how to do all the great work everyone else does and to get some inspiration...I actually did my first layouts today and uploaded them to the gallery.... :)
I just joined your group here and I have lots to learn about digital scrapbooking. I found out about this website through Margie and the Blessed Memories group of ladies.

that I got an e mail from DSP, and that probably happened because of belonging to a digital scrapping Yahoo group where people traded elements--maybe?? Anyway, I'm glad I'm here, I really like it so far! :)
I heard by word of mouth: I called Amanda to find out the results of a sewing project we started, and she told me what she had been up to here. I couldn't jump on board fast enough!
At first I was concerned about the time commitment of being a moderator, but now I'm having a total blast! This Place is so fun!

Honestly Amanda I was on Hiatus for a while from scrapbooking. Just this past winter I started going through my stuff again and slowly picked up interest. I may have been searching for new ideas - not sure but I sure am glad I found this place. On time or not I LOVE the quick crops and all the challenges. DSP is awesome!

On a Club Scrap sub-group, Elizabeth was posting beautiful digital layouts when the rest of us were only doing paper. I became intrigued and asked her if there was a webstie or email group. She sent me the link to this place and I have been hooked ever since. After the last week, Christmas in July, I finally feel that I know my way around a bit.

I am really new to all this stuff. I just love having a digital camera in my hands and to shoot anything I like without having to spend any money. Using digital scrapbooking is such a nice way of showing off your photos in such a beautiful 3 dimentional manner. I have no clue as to what I am doing, but know what I like. Thank you for having this group, and eventually I will find my way around. I am completely self taught, but coming along.
Thanks Nora

I just can't remember which one. This is now one of my favorite spots on the web! Looking forward to taking my first class in August! :)
We have a 35 mm camera and a digital. We're just getting into scrapbooking and looking to learn all about it. I say we because We go by TBA which is the abbreviation for each one of our names - Tricia, Billie and baby Ashley. We are a Mom(Tricia), daughter(Billie) and granddaughter (Ashley who is 3) that are very close and getting into scrapbooking. Look forward to learning.
Thanks

I had just recently downloaded a program called Digi Album for all my digital pics. I figured it was time to get organised. lol I had been 'searching' for clip art to use on my album pages... I kept following different URL's. I dont know how I went from clip art to digital scrapbboking, but somehow I did. I sure am glad I did too! You are all sooo nice and the talent here is amazing!
I've never even been interested in scrapbooking... but this digital scrapbboking looks like (and is, I found out) fun. :)

I saw people talking about it... at Scrapbook-bytes - when all the hype for this site was starting - eg Guess what is coming in a week - guess what is coming in a day - I signed in the day the site got up and running! Have purchased stuff from store and taken a couple of classes - absolutely love it here! Hooked! Nah OBSESSED MORE LIKE IT!!!!!!!!!!!
I chose search engine because I remember doing a search for good sites on digital scrapbooking. But as a matter of fact, I found this site through links provided to me by a member of a parenting forum I visit daily. I just bumped into her again on SBB actually. So I should have ticked 'word of mouth'.
My sister is hooked on here and she got me on here. :D

Combination of SS's Simply Digital #2 sometime in December, which led me to do a Google search to find the yummy layouts they showed in that issue. I've been hooked ever since, but now that the school year is over, this teacher has more time for digi-scrapping. Even thinking about ways to incorporate what I'm learning into my classes in the fall--I'm an English teacher, but some of my classes do a pamphlet project, which requires some design and layout knowledge, graphic manipulation skills, and thoughtful use of text--I'm learning so much more about all of these things at DSP!

I was searching for a way to print my e-book covers as well as photographs of the "cast" for them. I tend to cast my characters as if my books were movies and wanted to keep track of who I use in which book.

Just started to teach myself Photoshop around the beginning of this year. I was recovering from a total hip replacement and not working, so I have had time to indulge myself. I am always searching for tutorial, etc. Then I read about scrapbooking....really didn't have big interest in it, but I love photography and photo manipulation and thought this would be of some interest, lol. I joined Apri 20, 2005 and l and have been here constantly as you can see by my many posted LO and comments! I found DSP while doing a search on GOOGLE. Love it here! :)

I was googling for some help with my software program (PSP) and this site popped up. I'm sorry I don't remember what I was looking for. I thought it might be a good outlet to try out some of the features of my software program.
Because of personal reasons, I don't have many personal photographs. I had been using a few photos of friends' and husband's family, but had been blurring the faces for privacy reasons. It was PM'd to me that this is very distracting, so I am looking for another area to do work that is fit for posting. Of course, the original of these layouts will make great gifts, but apparently they are not fit for the gallery. Any suggestions? Have entered into Faithbook Challenge (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6325), but would be interested in others where family pictures are not necessary.
Amanda
07-30-2005, 05:55 PM
If you are not interested in showing the faces of your friends and loved ones, that is completely up to you. Don't let one persons comment discourage you from posting!
You can post blurred faces in the gallery, lots of people do it. It can be distracting, but you can also just paste someone's face on it from stock photos instead. And while we're looking at the photos in the gallery, it's more about the layout than the faces. Post away!
Other topics aside from people or children are pets, travels, where you live, city, state, house, scrapping room, etc, your hobbies and projects, scenery/landscape, macro like flowers, still life, wildlife, nature, cars, sporting events, architecture...if you buy a good photography book all the examples in there will be very inspiring, or visit www.sxc.hu for more ideas and free photos
Welcome to DSP! Glad you found us! And you might find scrapping your own photos, even if you don't post, to be very liberating. My mom won't let us take many photos of her because she's been overweight many years and getting old, but now that she's ill and facing her own mortality she lets us take all the photos we want. We appreciate them and wish we had more throughout the years.
Glad to have you with us!

I stumbled over here by accident. My SIL gifted me with Photoshop and another forum I frequent, the thing is blinkies...so I was looking for a tutorial on how to create a blinkie. The tutorial on this site came up in google, so I went to it.
Made my first every blinkie and decided to browse the site. Of course, I thought, I can do this! So now I'm hooked.
Can we say I'm officially addicted now (after only 2-3 months)...last night I was dreaming of layouts!

Since I am a paper scraping LOSER, this is to die for. *struts around with her lil showy feathers* I love my PC and my PC loves me, so this was a great find. It was fate, if you check out my Gallery, you'll find the first page I made - that was from the Diva kit. Back then it was downloaded on a 56k... oy oy oy vey. Have Broadband... So I was a hard copy Scrapper and loved it but I didn't have the space to scrap without my kids helping and it wasn't easy to get to the scrapbook store where they have space to sit down and scrap during her hours. I had gotten a little bummed out on scrap booking and was gettign behind. (I still haven't scraped my summer trip) My good friend Heids was looking online and stumbled on to didgital scrap booking and then proceeded to get me hooked. I had played around in photoshop when I was putting together a website for my playgroup but had never really explored it fully. I wen tover to help her figure out the basics and fell in LOVE with it. I mean up till 4am LOVE with didgital scrap booking. I rescraped all my pictures. And my husband loved it because it was tons cheaper than my more tradtional scrapbook habit. Sooooo I blame Heids

I found THIS site by Googling! I belong to a traditional scrapbooking group -- the NYOBC (Not Your Ordinary Book Club) and this month's book is "Traditional vs. Digital". I was fascinated and wanted to learn more so I went to Google and this is the first site I explored. LOVE IT!!! I'm waiting for the HP software to arrive and itching at the bit to learn and DO. I've been bitten by the bug and more enthused about Digital Scrapbooking than by the Traditional Scrapbooking. Thanks for the opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people, experience everyone's talents, have something lasting for my family and to have a great time.

I had been checking out digi scrapping for a couple years now...just looking to see if it was something I would really be interested in doing. A couple weeks ago I did a search in Yahoo search engine and your name was the first in line. I have since found out that you are one of the (if not the) best digi scrapping websites out there. I have been so impressed with the level of help that you all have provided to someone totally new to this hobby! I am totally impressed. I have since checked out other sites just to see if I'm really getting the best service. I definitely am getting it here! You all are so wonderful to work with. Your tutorials are great and I can't wait to take your DSU classes next month! Also the website is the easiest and most user friendly of all the digi scrapping sites out there!!! This is a huge plus to me. I hate having to figure out where everything is just to find a specific thing. Your site is so wonderful!
Thanks for all that you do!

I probably first found it by a search engine but never came here - it just seemed so HUGE. I put down Word of Mouth, because d2vasquez told me about the NKOTB competition - and the rest is history. I never go anywhere else anymore - and whatever happened to Darla?

Hi Melanie, Darla was the one that got me interested in digital scrapping too. Think the last time I heard she had been asked to be on a design team at another site, I’m sure that when she is off that design team she will be back here, who wouldn’t come back here, I have looked at some of the other sites and hands down DSP has the best designers anywhere on the web.

Well would you believe that after paper scrapping for some 4 years i got the idea of digi scrapping from an 83 year old client...well he is kinda my mentor when it comes to computing and photography...he was one of the best photographers i have seen and we both went digital at the same time and had a lot in common...we would often argue about things and swap tips...i miss him as he has sadly passed away...but he said to me one day after showing him my latest paper creation...why don't you do it all on the computer...well i tut tutted and said impossible.....i think it was one day i was looking for stuff to print for my paper scrapping and i came across DSP...sometime after this fellas death mind you...and i haven't looked back since...i think Dan is saying i told you so up in heaven...i think it was about the same time you guys started up DSP when he told me about his idea...well who would have thought an 83 year old male would be so forward thinking...oldies always surprise me!! Cheers Liz

I was looking for freebies and was just getting into dig. normally I would get the freebies and go off and try to do them myself BUT...this place seemd so much larger than the others and had more freebies than I could shake a stick at So I decided to hang around and see what kindof VIBE it had..I know I know very 60's. But anyway I FELL in LOVE and have not been one other place since I got here. I have learned more here than I ever thought possible. I already had great knowlege of PSP but you turned it into something useful. It has even omproved my paper scrapping that I still do at times for freinds otherwise I have gone total digital. Sorry this is so long BUT this place has helped me more than I ever thought and all because I wanted the Great FREEBIES !!! sorry I had to be honest.

One of my forum friends at PhotoshopElementsUsers.com posted a link to DSP several months ago & I just had to check it out. DSP is wonderful!
I found DSP here. http://www.innographx.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6174
I don't belong, but I often read their tutorials. It's a good site.
Anyway very glad that I found you all!! I have not done scrapbooking before so it's a new challenge for me.
So many very talented layouts, it's sort of like class critiques. You learn from each other.

A member at a pixel-forum talked about DS and I had no idea what it was. So I googled for "Digital Scrapbook" and the link to this wonderful place came up.
What almost put me off was the scale - it seems huge and overwhelming when you first step in. On the other hand, the freebie gallery is VERY generous - I fell in love with several kits and decided to browse around to see if this would be a place for me. Well... it is :D

Hmm... Two years ago I was given a copy of PSE3.0 to use in my classroom. The gal that taught the two-day seminar spent more than 75% of the time on the organizer feature. BOORRRRIINNNNGGG!
I just KNEW that there was something better to do with the program. I wanted to know how to crop photos. How to change the color of someone's shirt. How to brighten up a dark photo. Yada yada yada.
I don't know how I found www.photoshopelementsuser.com but I did. Someone on there was talking about digital scrapbooking. What's that? So off to my friend Google. DSP was the first link that came up. I visited. The rest is history.
As I just told someone in another forum .... two years ago I had no idea what I could do. A week from today I will be teaching a class (http://naplesimagingcenter.com/Elements5.htm) at a local digital imaging center. Who'd a thunk it? LOL

Oh, and here's something really ironic: I wish I had paid better attention to the features of the organizer. Now with all of the kits, layouts, etc. that I have on my EHD, I am really wishing I had done a better job organizing and tagging them. Oh, well .... learned from THAT mistake!

Last September, I was hurriedly trying to organize and beautify a scrapbook style album of wedding photos for some dear friends. I did it with paper, sticky thingies etc and although I loved the finished look, that style just wasn't for me. Shortly after going to Arkansas to deliver the gift, I found this site, started scrapping in ernest and haven't looked back since. I've been around a couple of other sites, and haven't found anything that compares to DSP in either quality of information, education or site ambience.

I've seen this thread several times, and I guess it's time to **confess.**
I found out about DSP through a magazine...don't remember which one...but it offered freebies from 4 websites I think. Anywhooo...I went and download 3 of the 4 sets, but when I got to DSP, I stopped. There were so many freebies, I bookmarked it and started making LO with the freebies. Then I found the Potter forum and Tina and here I am...haven't budged...totally loving it all!
