Im a little confused as to what you mean - when you create a pattern if it is not seamless it wont match up no matter what size paper you create it on - If you wish to have a pattern that repeats you must make sure its seamless,
I hope Im understanding what you mean here

yeah, sounds like it's not seamless. You can use the Simple filter for seamless tiles, use the www.myjanee.com seamless title tutorial, or PS has a built-in filter for making patterns seamless. Or things like stripes you can make seamless if you select them properly before defining the pattern

a screen shot attached or more info would help, if that advice doesn't work

It is just going to repeat the pattern untill it runs out of space. It will not match one side to the other.

well now I understand about the pattern not matching,, were is a tut to make it seamless..feeling really stupid here..

YOu can use a filter to make a seamless pattern - or you can use image ready- If you open the pattern you want to make seamless in image ready - select the area you want to make seamless - then go filter - other - ( and here i cant recall the name - I dont have it open right now - but its something that says seamless patterns!!) - play with the sliders till you get an image you like - then take it back to ps and save it as a pattern

Well~ been trying~ i went to see some back grounds from designers, and I notice that some~ right side of paper is not the same the left size..Half a line on right and a full line on the left....or a full heart and on the other side half a heart.....I thought that it had to be the same..on both sides.., a digital rule....Now im confuse....
