Problems resizing

I have HP Scrapbook Assistant and have IrfanView to resize my layouts, but I'm trying to do one now, and when I resize it to 600 by 600 it says it's 268 kb and it exceeds the limit. Can anyone tell me how to get this to where I can post it? Thanks, Sabrina

Your programme doesnt have an option to compress so you will need to download something else to do it - Irfanview is a free programme which you can download - open the jpg in that - resize it to 600 then drag the compression slider down to about 65 and it should be within the 125kb limit

I use IrfanView to resize it but I don't see a compression slider. Is it the same as the DPI? I'm sure you get tired of answering these silly questions from newbies, but I for one am grateful for people like you who know what you're doing! Sabrina

The compression slider appears when you use the save as function rather than the save function - just go save as ...jpg and you will see the slider come up - you need to save as so you dont save over your original
