The Gimme crops work this way
Each week I host a crop where the members choose one of my kits from the store for me to make extra pieces for.
The members suggest to me at the crop specific items they wish me to make for the add on packs.
I make a selection of those pieces and post the samples to the freebie gallery.
One of the freebies is password protected - To receive the password to unlock the file you need to come to the next weeks
chat.
The other freebie you can receive by by purchasing the original kit from the store and creating a layout which you should
upload to the Gimme More crop gallery ( http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=2610 ) by
midnight Saturday following the crop.
After the crop I will send private messaages to those who have posted layouts with the link to download the second freebie.
YOu can check the forum http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=210 ) for updates on the kits chosen
each week if you cant make the actual chat.
When I am sending out PMs for the bonus products i ONLY check the gallery - I dont check the forum so there is no need to post there if you dont want to - If your layout is Not in the Gimme Gallery I wont see it and then you wont get your layout so make sure it is in the Gimme Gallery .
All addons will be available in the store after the chat if you miss out.
When you receive your bonus link please download it promptly - the links are only valid for a short time - not indefinitely - and likewise if you dont receive your bonus please let me know within a week so I can rectify things!!

Can anyone tell me what time the chat is? I live in the UK.
The Gimme More Chat is at 9:00PM Eastern Standard Time, Thursday.
At the top of this page is a link that says Calendar, it will tell the chat times, etc. There is also a Your Timezone link that may help you convert the EST to you UK time.
Hope this helps.:) Good Luck.

Anyone with a Macintosh that can help me out? I downloaded the freebie and went to the chat tonight for the password, but I can't get the file to work for me. Instead, I get an Archive Utility message that says "Unable to unarchive 'fsaddon.zip' into 'Downloads'. (Error 78 - Function not implemented.)

Paulett, Lauren gives us the password at the chat. It is suggested that you download the zip file prior to the chat, but you won't be able to extract it until you get the password.

I understand that the pw is given at the chat I just cant save the zip file of the dl to hold for the chat. I try to save it in a special folder with the date/time, but it keeps comming up as need pw. Ugh!!! Im still having trouble with getting PSE4 to work and now I cant save chat files. That is what is so frustrating. Is there anyone out there using PSE4 that could advise me on matters along with this dl problem?

oh PS...I forgot to thanks you for your response. I just stopped trying to get PE4 to work and Im about to pull my hair out. So sorry if my previous post came off rude I really did not mean it to. Anyway thanks Chi Chi so very much for taking time to respond to my original question. Is that your furry baby in your pic? It such a beautiful cat. I have 3 cats and 3 dogs and love all kinds of critters. I guess I had better go sit and pet one of the cats to calm down my frustrations...Cats never seem to be frustrated....unlike us humans. LOL

I usually make a folder, then save the zip file to that folder. I don't try to extract it. The other option is "open" and I don't use that. The program you use shouldn't have anything to do with your ability to save the file. I'm not sure how your computer is handling the download and save, but that's how I do it. I've never had a problem. Maybe someone else has another idea.
Chichi, that's what I do, too. I download the zip file to a folder I have labeled "need password" I don't try to unzip  at all I just let it sit there, then when the password is given out at the chat I go unzip. Just handle the file like any folder, just don't try to open it at all. It should sit right where you put it until you open it.
Good luck. See you at the chat!
I have PSE 4.0, but where I save my files has nothing to do with that program. I save them on my hard drive in a scrapbooking folder. Then inside that folder I have all my other folders, like Kits, elements, etc. In Fact: The main folder I save my downloads to is called "unzipped downloads" that way I know where my downloads are that need to be unzipped and moved to the appropriate folder. Anyway good luck. And keep posting, we'll try to help.
And there are lots of tutorials on the DSP site for learning PSE. Look at the top on the right side it says "tutorials" These are free and you can also post questions anytime.

Paulett, that is my furbaby Chloe. She has a sister Jessie. They are littermates, but they look nothing alike. Jessie looks just like the father of the litter, a red tabby without stripes! I think it's called an agouti coat. I also have a dog, a rambuctious little shih-tzu named Pepper.
I hope you can figure out how to save your zip files. See you at the chat!

I'm just wondering about the chat/crop time. Is it 8 p.m. US eastern time? Am I correct in thinking that would be Friday 10 a.m. Eastern Australian time, or in my case because we have daylight saving in Tasmania until the end of March it would be 11 a.m.

I really would like to attend the chat someday but i really have trouble figuring out what time it would be in the Netherlands.
I don't even know what the am and pm stands for, feel really stupid about that.
I checked out the timezone-kalender but got lost in all the am's and pm's and different timezones, can anybody please help me figuring this out??
Would really appreciate it, thanks!!

Cindy--I am time zoned challenged as well! AM is morning (after midnight, before noon) and PM is afternoon (after noon, before midnight)! When I start getting confused, I google timezones for the area I want to know about, and I can find out what time it is there, look at my clock here, and know if it's too late (or early) to call my brother in Hawaii!
DSP time is Eastern Standard time US, so if you look for the time in New York, you'll be looking at the time for all the chats and such here at DSP.
Hope this helps.

I missed the chat and have to ask.Going through the thread ,but i didnt understand really how to get the freebie after i did an LO and putted it in the gallery for Gimme more crops. Can anyone please tell me so i can understand:)
Hi Elmas!
After you purchase the kit, create your layout and post it in the Gimme More Crops gallery (by the deadline) Lauren will look through the gallery and Private Message (PM) the POSTING BONUS (PB) to everyone who participated in that weeks challenge. This doesn't happen right when you post, I think she waits until after the deadline and then goes through the gallery. It could be late Sunday or Monday AM before you get your posting bonus.
I haven't received this weeks posting bonus for Sweet Summer Breeze yet, but I don't expect it for a while.
All the designers Private Message (PM) the posting bonuses when you participate in the challenges.
Hope this helps and good luck!

The chat is at 9:00 p.m. - correct? What time zone is that in please?
Lilsassy that is ET, eastern time. Here is a link to the DSP calendar (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/calendar.php), which has the chat times for each chat. You do have to check the forums for cancellations/changes, though.

ok, I have looked everywhere and can't find the answer to this question! Is it ok to use double duty lo's in Gimme More? I have one that I posted for another gallery and I used Weathered Blooms in it too. Can I post in this gallery for credit here also? Also, confused (again)! There are 2 kits, so are there 2 posting bonuses for this week or do we use either or both and get 1 bonus.
Hey Nanaw,
Lauren gives out posting bonuses from the gallery not the thread. So I would move my layout to her gallery before the gimme deadline.
My understanding on the Weathered Blooms/Blossoms kits is to use one or both and you get the same posting bonus. (just one, not two).
Hope this helps,
Susan

Lauren,
I hope I'm posting this in the correct place. I'm doing the double challenge - Rene Bross Orange Marmalade and your A Bit of Both page kit.
I'm fairly new so trying to find my way around the website. I enjoyed the kits tremendously but with my limited experience combining two kits was a challenge.
Comments welcomed.

Hey, I'm hoping to come to this chat tonight (need something to get me scrapping!), does Lauren announce the kit she's adding on to anywhere. As in is there a certain kit I need to buy in order to play?
Thanks!
Here's what's up for the next few weeks as far as kits go:

Things are a little different right now, because of Lauren's busy schedule, but we do know what's up for a while. :D

Here is how I interpret this ... I'm being a bit of a dolt lately (LOL)
At chat we suggest add-ons to a kit (I think that the kit is mentioned at the chat, right?)
Lauren makes the items that have been requested; she posts two different freebies in the freebie gallery
You get one of those by attending the next week's chat (it's PW protected)
You get the other one (via PM) by posting a layout (you have to buy the kit from the store) by the Saturday following the chat (not sure which chat, though).
Am I right?

I have a question and I really apologize if I'm asking in the wrong place.
I did the last challenge (Precious in Pink) but did not receive the bonus. I want to learn to do this right but I'm not sure if I did. I posted in your thread about that challenge and in the gallery under that category. Did I post it in the right places? Does the bonus get sent to my email? Thanks!
BTW The products you create are so beautiful and the layouts in your blog are inspiring. Thanks!

If you haven't gotten the bonus by now, send Lauren a PM (private message). I see you're fairly new (welcome!) so let me know if you're not sure how to use that feature.
