 Does any one know where to find tutorials on how to make a "page curl"? Or, where to download a filter for page curls?

Many thanks.

I don't know what program you are using, but in PSP8 there is a page curl under Effects->Image Effects. Maybe there is something similar in other programs.

Oh I can tell you of a GREAT filter that you can download - in fact I am in the process of writing a review of it now - and we are going to learn all about it in our next filters chat . It can be downloaded from http://www.avbros.com/pagecurl/ - they have a downloadable demo version of it there.
Ive tried it and all I can say is that its awesome - and this is from someone who rarely uses filters- I preferred to do most things manually but who can possibly want to do that when there are wonderful filters like this around

If you use PSP, the page curl option is fun. If you use PS, either try the www.myjanee.com tutorial or take Lauren's Elements class for the easier way!

Let us know how it's going when you try these options, and we'll give some more help if needed.

I just don't have the link for the download - but from Adobe Exchange I downloaded an action BB set.atn which does a paper curl & other effects - free so worth a try!

Thanks everyone. I use PSE 2. Recently I bought Plugin Galaxy from Pluginsite and they have page curls. Now that you mention it it, Meryl, I don't know what Actions are! So that's my next question. What are Actions?

Hmmm. Thanks for the cues. I will look at myjanee site and I didn't realize that Lauren's classes on elements would include that. I shall check.

Sorry - no, actions would be no use to you as they don't work with PSE only Photoshop. Glad you are sorted out though!

I have the AV Page Curl, and can't get it to work in DIP9. Whenever I apply the curl, the page is black. Can't figure out what I am doing wrong, or doesn't the program work with DIP? It works fine in PSE. Does anyone know the answer? Thanks.

This is due to the way that DIP handles layers and transparency differently to most graphics programmes - I have discovered a "kindof" work around for this in DIP.
You have to apply your curl to your BACKGROUND layer - it will only work on the background layer - and then of course it will have a white part where the paper has curled up - you can then take this background layer into another layout - resize as necessary and use either the selection tools or the transparency brush to erase the white portion - this is the only way I have managed to get quite a few filters to work in DIP.

Thanks, Lauren! I was opening a new project, and just adding a square and colorizing it. I didn't think about bringing in background papers! It's pretty easy to get rid of the white. That won't be a problem. I appreciate your help.
