Am fairly new still. Have a question, this may seem dumb :o , but am so overwhelmed. When I download a freebie, do i save it is a zip file? What do I do with the Freebie???? Help. I am not new to computers, I would assume that I would save the zip file and use as needed?? But do I organize the zip file or just the file itself into the categories??

Well, everyone has their own system. I unzip mine into their individual folders.

So, I have a folder called Scrapbook on my computer.
In that, another folder called DSP. That's where I put on my kits that I download from here.
Inside that folder I create a folder for each kit.
I name them the name of the kit, the artist, and the number (if it has one)

So, a folder structure for me would be:
Scrapbook > DSP > PaintedRosesLisaCarterFreebie

So, I know it was a kit I got at DSP called Painted Roses by Lisa Carter and it was a freebie.

I also have a Contact Sheet Folder. I take the preview file out of each new kit and copy it in to that folder. Then I can quickly glance through my Contact Sheet folder to see if any of my kits meet what I'm looking for. I've even organized alphas, brushes, fonts, word art in that folder. It really helps me remember what I have!

You'll develop your own system as you download more!

Did that answer your question?? There's lots of tutorials at the top of the page too and some of them cover organziation, etc.

Others have different ways to organize - hopefully others will chime in to give you their ideas on how to organize as well!

Thank you so much, yes that helps a lot. I just get so overwhelmed with this stuff. I want to keep it organized from the start before I get to involved.

Thanks for you help.
