oh scamptx I am sorry - I am a veterinarian so know a bit about bowle obstruction and they do hurt a lot. I hope it opens up quickly. Not fun.
A lap top would help pass the time, sorry about that as well. I know since i started dig scrapping I take my laptop everywhere.
I haven't had time to post much or even catch up on the reading - sorry - I hope everyone is generally well.
Say - I have a question. I have noticed that many people use a freebie antiquing pack fro Lauren. I have looked and looked for this kit - is it still available? It could be my not-yet grannie eyes adn brain that I can't find it and if you ladies point me right to it I will be embarrassed, but I am ready for that possibility because I really like the effect.
I am sitting here in bed with my poor kitty Roman - he has early renal failure so our days together are limited. He seems to know it and is esepcially cuddly. He will not ever get in a lap but these days he likes to lean against me or on top of my arm. not hepful for typing.
thanks and take care everyone

Even though I get the forum in my email each morning, When I clicked to the forum to leave a message there were *3* more pages to read!!
I usualy read all the jokes to the Old Dear and we laugh at them together. The BMW one I also forwarded to my step-daughter who drives a BMW. What would we do without our morning laughs?
Anyway...I want to do a special flattie for France but all I can think of is that old sing-song from probably kindergarten, "Oh the girls in France, they wear tissuepaper pants...and the boys.....(Darn I can't remember the rest. So just know I have added tissuepaper bloomers under my denim dress and will hope for the best. Just keep Felix away!
I can't wait to try a layout with all those layers from a photo. Maybe there will be time today. New font; masking; where does the time go?
My challenges until April 15 will be ways to use up all those excess photos we seem to take with digital cameras. I know I wind up with 10 or so shots from one "shoot" thanks to the two modes that just keep clicking while you hold down the shutter release. Now I figured out how to set that lovely little feature when I go off auto mode and I am a snapping fool! I can't seem to delete anything but out-of-focus or truly awful photos. With little kids, though they all are cute. What to do? I will have some suggestions in the chats, and certainly open to any from other scrappers.
Off to see if I can find tissue bloomers, knickers, or thongs.
Time is still an issue for me so if everyone can put your flattie in the flatties gallery, it would help. :love2:

Greetings, Grannies...have been down with some sort of flu and have had trouble keeping up with the thread...whenever I move my head the whole room spins...so just browsing pages now and then.
Loved the stories...Freda I got egged four times before the spinning stopped.
Omi...would love to go to France..will have to wear my old stuff tho, not up to changing clothes at the moment and all the flatties will need to hold me up. Maybe everyone will think I have just been partying too hard...who has the bottle of wine?
Scamp, so sorry to hear about your son...it is so hard when our kids are in pain and there is little we moms can do...(((((hugs)))) to you and I would loan you my laptop if I could.
Carma...still praying for good news for you.
sss...so sorry to hear about kitty...my old guy was like that before he left me...renal failure too...only wanted to cuddle or lean on me...do think animals have a sense of what is happening.
laura...tissue knickers...
Hope the rest of you are doing just fine, healthy and up to your tricks as always...

Hi ladies! This thread sure is busy, and I'm trying so hard to keep up. Managed to get through 4 or 5 pages and will try to get some more this evening or later this afternoon.
Scamp - I'm sorry to hear about your son. Will keep you both in my prayers.
Sharon - Sad about the kitty. So glad you are getting some cuddle time in there.
Laura - Congratulations  I'll have to pop in at the other place and say hello.
Freda - I've so enjoyed the layouts of the flat grannies and their adventures. My daughter is returning to Imperial Beach in 2 weeks. They are going to look at places in Coronado near the base. If all goes well, we plan to visit her at some point before they leave there next Feb. How far away are you?
Carma - How was the Dr. appointment? If you posted I missed it. Hoping you found out good news. So glad that panic attacks was out of the question. I suffered major ones for almost 20 years. Nasty things!
All of these spliced photos are beautiful. Hopefully when the little one has gone I'll have more time to try new things. At present, I'm lucky to keep up with the usual challenges. I still need to do something for Heritage this week
Okay, that is it for this time. I'm keeping each of you in my prayers.
Hugs to all,
Freda

Sandra, I didn't see that anitquing kit either but I have it. At some point it was a freebie. I would be happy to share it with you, if you will send a personal message with your email address. Do you have any other ideas of a way I can share it with you?
I thought of you yesterday since we were "in your neighborhood". We were at Torrey Pines Glider Port to get those photos. Have you checked the grannie gallery lately? I would like your comments since you also know this beautiful area where we live! As you can imagine, I have many more ideas of places to visit. Let me know if you want me to share this freebie. It is 26 MB so will take some time to download.

Inky, you think you're lost - I don't even know what Grant's Tools is! Is it a Can-Can aid?
Back from eye dr. and check up was OK! :yahoo: Bad cataract on bad eye (knew it) is growing fast, so eventually will have to be taken off. Won't help with center vision (shot), but will help peripherals. Go back in a year. Let's me know how quickly the year's pass. They have to double-dialate my eyes - of course, this is the first sunshiny day we've had since I don't know when and it's killing me!
To TT or TFT, that is the question? Don't know what the heck! (again) I've downloaded the font, now I'll have to go see what happens when I try the installation. Any problems? I'm sunk!
Grandson is over here yapping in my ear about wireless internet, as if... Wish you had it too, Scamp. Would sure help to while away those hours in the hospital. Prayers and ((((((((hugs)))))))) for your son's speedy recovery and non-re-occurence. (Is that a word?)

OK, Antiquing pack by Lauren was in the overlays link, found it for you:

Crystal, great news that your check up was okay. I think we all have some degree of cataract as we age, I'm sorry it is growing fast but once removed should be so much better. I understand about that sunshine! I have to have my eyes dilated as well and that sunshine hurts so much!
I think TFT above refers to THE FONT THING for organizing your fonts, I haven't tried installing that font yet but want to use it.

Thanks, Freda for the commiseration. So glad that Ca. sun hasn't hurt my flat self's eyes!

Apologies to all, I'm so behind on everything. Have missed all the traveling flat granny fun. My DH has had 2 stress tests, they found a blockage on the second one, too. He is going in the hospital Thursday morning at 6 AM, they will run dye through is veins to get a better look at the blockage. They will try to inflate the vein but if that doesn't work he may need a stint. Of course, it's always possible that it could require more than a stint but we are hopeful that a stint will be the worst case scenerio. We feel lucky that they found it before there was a problem with his heart.
He is alergic to iodine so he is taking another drug to help him with that as the dye has iodine in it. I'm optomistic but it is still a little scary. My DH has always teased me and said that I need to learn to do things for myself as the men in his family don't live long due to heart problems. I have to tell you that his little "joke" keeps playing in my head. Love to all and let prayers rise up for my dear heart!

03-13-2007, 01:31 PM
Good morning or afternoon, My appointment really went well but with some side tracking. Dr. wanted to know everything that has effected me in the past 10 years. First thing I have something on my left leg that hasn't healed up for the past 7 months or so...it will be removed and will require stitches. Next a couple of spots on my neck and face zapped with nitrogen, I look spotted now. Oh first off my blood pressure was way up for me 162 over 58. so keeping a check on that. My problem with the pain, he says it is not panic attacks, most likely is gall bladder or ulcer but couldn't rule out heart. So today I have a tread mill test, when he examined my heart chest, lungs and carotid arteries he added a Carotid US/Doppler scan to the list of things to do. I will be having a ultra sound of the abdomen on the 16th. Then a MRI of the brain on the 21st. I have been having episodes of dizziness and one that everything went black about a few years ago. I told him it seems to be a positional thing that makes me dizzy, I feel it coming on and things go blurry. Not often but enough to be concerned about. So I guess you could say I am going to have an over haul or a make over in the next few weeks. He also told me not to go out of town until he can get this puzzle figured out. So I will not be going out of town to help my mom and dad. I think that I have not taken care of myself while taking care of my hubby. LOL I know you all said take care of your self. I really do feel just fine in between the episodes of pain in the area of my center chest and going around the back, and those are usually 2 to 3 weeks apart. But it hurt bad enough that I didn't want to have any more. The fact that I got nauseated set my Dr. off on that one. He is being very thorough, maybe even a bit of overkill, but at least I will know if there is something wrong.
Don't worry, I feel like if there is something wrong that they will find it with all of these tests. I need to get scrapping...you have all been so busy, Hard to keep up with all the posts.

SENIOR ROMANCE
A couple was married for umpteen years and normally
each went to sleep early, but this evening the wife
was in a romantic mood and wanted to talk and............
The husband wanted to sleep, but she said
"you used to hold my hand when we were courting."
Wearily he reached across, held her hand for a
second and then tried to get back to sleep.
A few moments later she said:
"then you used to kiss me."
Mildly irritated, he reached across, gave he r
a peck on the cheek and settled down to sleep.
Thirty seconds later she said:
"then you used to bite my neck"
Angrily, he threw back the bed clothes
and got out of bed.
"Where are you going? "she asked.
"To get my teeth!"

OK, Ineke inspired me - here's a quick funny that I received recently.
Creation
On the first day, God created the dog and said:
"Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. For this, I will give you a life span of twenty years."
The dog said: "That's a long time to be barking. How about only ten years and I'll give you back the other ten?"
So God agreed.
On the second day, God created the monkey and said:
"Entertain people, do tricks, and make them laugh. For this, I'll give you a twenty-year life span"
The monkey said: "Monkey tricks for twenty years? That's a pretty long time to perform. How about I give you back ten like the dog did?"
And God agreed
On the third day, God created the cow and said:
"You must go into the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer's family For this, I will give you a life span of sixty
Years."
The cow said: "That's kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years. How about twenty and I'll give back the other forty?"
And God agreed again.
On the fourth day, God created man and said:
"Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. For this, I'll give you twenty years."
But man said: "Only twenty years? Could you possibly give me my twenty, the forty the cow gave back, the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the dog gave back; that makes eighty, okay?"
"Okay," said God, "You asked for it."
So that is why for our first twenty years we eat, sleep, play and enjoy ourselves. For the next forty years we slave in the sun to support our family. For the next ten years we do monkey tricks to entertain the grandchildren. And for the last ten years we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone.
Life has now been explained to you...

that is the most "fun" thing I have seen all week!
I have not been around much and I am still try'n to catch up here. Rick, my some day husband:love3:, has 2 houses in the U.P. of MI. The one has been the family homestead since he was a little tyke, 5 years old I believe. He spent the weekend down here with me like he usually does, but Sunday morning we got a phone call... The homestead burned to the ground!:( Rick is an artist and while the kids (18 & 19) stay in the house in town he mostly stays at the home stead because he used it as a studio. So all of his art work was destroyed along with everything else. Fortunately he did have home insurance on it. Needless to say he was just totally distraught so he stayed until Monday (an extra day).
Monday morning when he was packing the car to go back to sort out the rubble we get another phone call... The City of St. Ignace had a back-up in their sewer system and it FLOODED the house in town!!! What a disaster!! So we have been dealing with all this... disaster...
Very very lucky in a lot of ways though. No one was hurt. The dogs were with the 19 yr old in town but just happened to be out side when the place flooded. The good part of that, besides the hassle of bathing 3 big dogs in the WINTER is that the people who went into the house (everyone except the baby) now have to have hepititus shots and boosters (just in case). I cant imagine that would be cheep for dogs ? (if they can get hep..)
So tonight after all is almost said and done I busted out a few pages for heritage and tried to catch up here.(I'm emotionally and physically drained so this might take me a few days to catch up...)
I saw the flatties pages! hehe what nice pages for the flattie trips to here and there!

Since she got here on Sunday afternoon we've been to Los Cucos for stuffed avocados, the Guenther House for pecan strudel, Caso Rio for enchilladas, and Mi Tierra for quesadillas. The word "blimp" keeps flashing through my mind.
If I won't weigh the plane down too much, I would love to go to Paris. My brother lived there for a while, but he's in Thailand now.

We are a fast moving bunch of grannies here.....whew! Carma, lots of tests coming up for you, but then they can determine what's wrong and get you feeling better. Sorry you can't get to your parent's house just yet, but you've got to take care of yourself too! Lots on your plate there! Robbie, same for you as well, lots of good thoughts for you and DH. Crys, hope your vision returns to normal today, that is so frustrating having your eyes dialated. Of course, my thoughts and prayers for everyone here....my satellite is glitchy with the rain this morning, so I can't flip back and forth to review the posts.
My youngest son is home from college this week on spring break and walked by the computer as I was working on my flattie for France. Naturally, he had to ask what that was all about, so I gave him an explanation and then showed him the flattie gallery. As I was about to tell him we're all going to Egypt together, he blurted out.....I know you aren't taking paper dolls on our trip!! Ha! Oh yeah, Josh just sit back and enjoy the company of party hardy grannies who know how to have a great time!
OmiO have a wonderful, safe trip! Can't wait to hear all about it when you return! With all of us in tow, I'm sure it will be quite an adventure...
Vallie, thanks for the help with the slicing and sig stuff. I was hoping that I'd actually get some play time this week, but DS has other ideas about our spring break  That's fine of course, I don't get to spend so much time with him away at school and I love every minute of his company.
JS.....sorry to hear about your SO's houses...what a tragedy.
Gotta get an early move this morning.....meeting with the CPA first thing - what a way to start the day  I'll be flipping burgers at nights to pay this year I suspect.
Have a wonderful, fantastic day mon cheries!!

Vallie said "Crystal, sounds like you had fun at the eye drs! A lot of people seem to get cataracts these days. Hope all goes well."
I don't know if there's more cataracts, or if it's just that they're resolved so much easier in these "modern times" that people are doing more about them.
Mine, specifically is a direct side effect of the eye surgery I had done.

Cathie, glad we are back. I seem to lost my memory. Some kind of black-out. I am so glad I had fun, but sorry about the mess we made on the plane. LOL No, I'm not!
Just Scraps! How awful! I had ONE house flood ONCE but this was just almost too much for one person to handle. Loosing the art work was a huge tragedy, but so was loosing memories. Keep us updated on how he is doing, please.

Yea, Cathie, so pleased to see you back!! I hope us Flatties didn'tcause too much grief for you. Can't wait to see what we got up to. Omi is taking us to France, go get your glad rags on:) (I am going in my comfortable jeans and T that I wore to San Diego) that is unless I find time for a quick change. When are we leaving Omi??
We're leaving tomorrow and I haven't started packing. If anyone else wants to go, please have your flattie in the gallery by midnight Pacific Daylight Time. It would really help if you would post a message and put a LINK to your flatty for time-challenged me.  :love3:
These are the people I have printed out:
Daggie in her sexy French maid's costume
Evergreen in her comfy tourist clothes with pearls
yhalos in tropical white pants and an orange top
Freda in tan floral dress and apron with purse (Freda, not the apron  )
GrandmaScrap ready to dance Swan Lake
Ineke ready to dance the Can-Can (question is, does she have tissue paper pants? )
JaeDee in her Julia Roberts' body with red jacket and gray pants
Kasha who is joining Ineke at the Folies Bergere
Lil's Nana in her spiffy blue and yellow outfit
Lindyroz in her Italian grape-stomping outfit because it looks so European
If you want a different flattie or want to join the tour, you have to get yourself in the gallery in the next ten hours. (And, Kasha, my husband says if HE has to do it, your SON has to do it, too!!!!  )

Hey girls!
Freda, don't worry about the carriers If you don't have time, sure appreciate the time you've taken as it is. My cousin was stationed on the Navy base there, and I was curious is the only reason I mentioned it. How wonderful to be able to live somewhere so beautiful!
CathieMarie, welcome back, you didn't leave any of us on those islands did you??? Actually I'm hunting for an island retreat to hide on...:D
Thanks Dags for the info on Grants Tools, I don't think I can play with those today :D
Oh Inky, thanks so much for sharing your video, great fun to see what you've been working on, and you two are sssssooooooo good together dancing. I was bouncing around in my seat too.. Great Big Thanks to your DH for taping that too, did a great job!
JustScraps, miserable luck you DBF had, I think the worst would be losing all the art, the other things can be replaced, but works from the hand and heart...
OMIO, have a great trip to France, have fun keeping the grannies in line, and off I go without my shoes... again, sure hope it's warm there. :D I sure hope the Law isn't around this time, bet it's way worse transportin grapes over international lines

Inky, Wow You got da moves girl!!!!!! Glad you had your best knickers on!! ;) I left a comment, hope it works properly, I am a bit technically challenged.
My Dan is in Melbourne now, probably checking out the Albert Park F1Grand Prix track! We saw him off at Central Station, it takes 11 hours to get to Melbourne from here, I dont think I could stand sitting (sounds like an oxymoron!) for that long! I'd get a good case of gas attack!!! :D
Justscraps, sorry about all the disaster, yikes, how unfair!

Funny comments happening re Carma's brain scan:D Hope they have cheered you up Carma. When my Dr orders an ultrasound for me, I get very worried thinking I might be pregnant:eek:
Thank you for all your lovely comments on my slice and dice technique layout. Now that I have basked gloriously in your praise for a little while, I will spill the beans.....I got the frames off the internet as a freebie, they are already overlapped and in one piece on a transparent background:yes: . I put my photo in the document, enlarged it to reach the sides of the page and duplicated it, then placed the frame over the top photo layer and positioned it how I wanted it, deleted all areas outside the frames on the upper photo layer, then reduced the opacity of the underneath photo layer which blended it into the background paper I had chosen! Told you I cheated:lol:
LL, I love your multiple photos example layouts on your blog. Good luck with your new venture, you sound very delighted and enthusiastic about it. I would love to attend your chat (it is line dancing class that day but I may be home in time for it, at least until we go off daylight saving at the end of March) Don't know about contributing layouts though, can't keep up with DSP stuff even. I am amazed when browsing through other sites how many people contribute to multiple other scrapbooking sites....I admit to being the RGC slow scrapper of the year:(
Forgive me for not responding to individual posts, I will get my act into gear again soon I hope. At least I have produced a few layouts this week:) Just know that I have read, empathised, sympathised, leaked, listened, laughed, worried with all of you. Finally got a chance to look through the gallery. Hawaii looked awesome.
I loved the hanggler port slide - my kids gave me a ride on one for Mother's Day a couple years ago. It was a tandem ride with a trained person. It was SOOOOOO cool to run and jump off the clif and then fly. Not as scary as I thought. I have photos so should do a LO - I did crash land at the end though - very embarassing and unfortunatley caught on film.
Congrats to the DET contestants - the LO's were awesome. Wheter ou made it through or not, that gallery represents the cream of the crop for sure.

Got a call from my Drs. office today wow that as fast, most of my blood work was really good, but the one Lipase was elevated, the nurse didn't know what that was or wouldn't tell me just said I need to go back in on MOnday and have another one they need to watch the levels. So I went on line and checked it out and sent my Internist Daughter a email and she wrote back and said that it is a emzyne that the pancrease puts out, it can be several things but she said it is probably gall bladder.
No, the brain scan is not for panic attacks, my Dr. said I am not having them, those of you who have had them described them completely different than what I am having. The scan is to check for any problem that could cause my sight to leave for a few seconds at a time and for blurry vision that I can feel comming on that lasts for several minutes at a time. I agree, it would be funny if the Dr. left a message like that on my answering machine....It would also be a relief. I am not expecting a bit problem, but it is worth getting it checked out. I think that the pain is gall bladder and I have a ultrasound on Friday morning.
Sorry I didn't make it to Heritage chat tonight, just didn't feel up to it. hope to get to T42 tomorrow but not sure I will make that either. You are right JaeDee, The Sun Will come up Tomorrow. I am really tired so will say good night. You all have fun on your trips. Keep us posted.

Okay all the RGCers, the Lurkers and all our DSP friends!!!
In our Granny chat this afternoon/morning Evergreen100/Jill brought it to our attention that on April 22 it will be the one year anniversary of the start of this amazing Granny Thread. That was the day that Kay Butler posted the wonderful poem that started it all!
We would like to propose that we have a challenge, a chat, and a new blinkie (Deb!?! could you help us out there).
What are your suggestions, comments, and ideas! We need a volunteer leader or committee!
Let's have fun with this!

Aussie girls, US has gone to Daylight savings and the chat time for us is now 8am Friday morning. When we go onto daylight savings at the end of March, I think it will be 7am. Maybe you could make it at that time Dags? Lets all get behind a birthday celebration for the RGC thread???????? I will be a very good Indian, but me no good at chief:D:D Jaedee, you sound like a good organiser?? You got the Grannie gallery off the ground. How about it??

Love the idea of a 1 year-celebration chat, challenge, blinkie (I'm always up for those blinkies!!!). I too vote for JaeDee to organize it!! I'll also be a good Indian helper!!!
Congrats to several grannies advancing in DET!!! :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: We'll be rooting for all of you!!
I missed the France trip!! I don't know how that happened.  And I don't know how you-all are going to find that bathroom without me!! I have been practicing up the French phrases. Oh, c'est la vie!!! So where is the next location? If I have to be stuck at home, I'll at least get started on appropriate attire for the next spot! Frankly I'm still confused as to where we are right now (excluding France, I get it that I'm not in France -- sniff, sniff).
Carma -- (((((((((Hugs))))))))) for the upcoming tests.

Finally caught up on the reading. Congrats on your new endeavor Laura.
Carma, hope all is well.
Gaongrats to those grannies who made the 2nd round of DET.
Good luck with your assignment Gabby.
Ineke your dance routine was fab.
Great LO's in the Granny Gallery. Freda you did an excellent job on showing us the sights of San Diego. We're off to France today.
Getting lots of scrapping done.
Hug and prayers for all that need them. I enjoy all of the inspiration and the laughs.

I've actually been doing some scrapping! This is kind of a switch.
If you have the time, you might check out my latest shaker - Rene Bross (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=172937&cat=500&ppuser=34323) We had such a wonderful, luxurious houseboat vacation, thanks to DS, Anton, and DDIL, Jen.
I've also managed to showcase another DGGD - Sweet, Cute Madison (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=173142&cat=500&ppuser=34323) She's always such a happy litte girl, who turns 4 later this month.
My family had to cancel our Christmas get-together, due to much illness. My sis and I finally decided we needed to get the gifts distributed, so I took several family presents down to my two DGS's in Feb. We walked in the door with 3 shopping bags full of gifts and Tristan said, with a real look of consternation on his face, "We don't have a tree any more!". We found out later that evening that you can open gifts without a tree!:D :D Rutker & Elmo (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=173140&cat=500&ppuser=34323) shows how good Great Aunt Janelle is at picking out fitting gifts!
Hope you enjoy!

Top o' the mornin tu ya my luverllies, heres me celebrating St Pat's Day, and doing a bit of that Line Dancing Dags taught us when we were all down under.
Thought you all might like to know you loved it at the top of Mount Teidi, some of you tried to 'fly' off but we soon pinned ya down. After you promised to behave, I took you all to see The Basilica in Candelaria - you were all suitably reverant, mainly because I had you all tied down in my bag - mmm that was a mistake, you'd all got so bored you decided to undo the top of my perfume and shook it all around the inside of my handbag, phew did we stink.
BBL with more installments.

Congratls to all who have made it to round two of Det and the others who did not, you have my admiration for trying.
Cyrstal can I borrow your cleaning maid, pleassssssse
Cathie, i knew you were my best student, look at you now. Dancing all over the world. Whats the The Basilica in Candelaria? I agree with Vallie, had to use the perfume to cover up waht we were really up to. Next time don't tie us up.

I am afraid I cannot keep up with you lively ladies but knowing how you love to party, I thought I would bring to your attention the crop we Kiwi girls have organised in May (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=22079). You are more than welcome in person of course but if that isn't possible then we would love to see your flat selves there (is that the correct phrase???). We hope you can make it!! It wouldn't be the same without you guys :)

I think Felix would look adorable in a fez, Vallie! A belly dancer costume for you?? Just hope some used camel dealer doesn't take a fancy to add you to his collection of wives! Does that mean you are going to have your belly pierced just for Egypt? I'm warning you that it hurts terribly! Did your son enjoy the race? I'd love to have been there for that myself. I live within an hour of Indianapolis which of course is home to the most famous speedway - the Indy 500. One of my underwriters sponsors a penthouse suite there so we get to go each year prior to the race while the drivers are practicing. We get to go down in the pits and back in the garages to see all the behind the scenes stuff and meet the drivers for photos and autographs. It's also one of the biggest party fests of the year! Over the years I've been fortunate to meet all the big name drivers from the Unsers, Andretti's......and my favorite - Danny Sullivan - what a hunk of driver he is - as well as Paul Newman who is a huge part of the races. I'd take our flat selves there this year, but we will be in Egypt and will miss the race.
I am so amazed by the DET entries.....you ladies just rock!!:yahoo: I wouldn't even attempt this....it would stress me out beyond words! I'll just sit here and cheer all of you on - that's much more fun for me!
Today is a very special day for me and it's also going to be an insanely crazy day as well. We are having an open house this afternoon at our main office to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our company. We have invited over 500 people and about half of them will show to help us celebrate. Afterwards we are moving the festivities to a local pub that is about a block from my office to continue the celebration. I even bought 2 bottles of Dom Perignon for myself, my two business partners and "employees" (I call them our business partners also) to toast the day. That's where the new pic came from that I used in my avatar - all of us did a photo shoot to use for an advertising promo. I'll have to post the group photo to share - I think it turned out awesome and everyone looks fantastic in it.
Yhalos.....you have been very quiet....are you still on the mend?? I hope that you are feeling better every day!
Cathie....I suppose if that is the worst that we grannies did by spilling your perfume, then I'd say you got off lucky. Or is there more you've yet to tell??? We have some pretty spunky grannies here so nothing would come as a surprise.
Have a wonderful happy day dear ladies......hugs and prayers for all who need them...

Have fun at your business celebration Kasha and have a Dom Perignon for my flat self (my round self doesn't drink alcohol:))
Shazzt, I would love to come to the NZ crop and annoy you:D. Hmmm, have to work on an outfit for Egypt and another one for NZ. Didn't have time to change for France:(. Are we going anywhere else, does anyone know?
Vallie your pesky little Irish dancer and Cathie's Irish doll might disappear together:)Dags certainly did a good job on the bootscootin lessonsCathie:D
GS. can you come to my house and clean my loungeroom, I've been trying to get LIndy to come for ages and even when she was in Australia on the Melbourne trip she still wouldn't come and clean for me:(:(

I would love to go to New Zealand for the crop, it's a shame  that only my flattie self will be able to go.It is getting very expensive keeping up with all these outfits that I need for my flattie travels, although I love having such great company to travel with even if some of them do play up a little bit. Still working on my Egypt outfit, if I wore my French maid outfit, I don't think I would be allowed to leave the country, think I would end up being in someones collection of twenty wives!!!
Do you think we will be safe in Donuts hands?(grannie in training) we could stay with her and the kids and eat pizza...Pams kids love:love1: pizza:lol:
Kasha, have a great afternoon and night, wish you were my boss, Dom Perignon would be lovely...I think you look very spiffy in your suit and looking forward to the group photo.

I am so sorry that I dont manage to keep up with this thread nowadays, I sometimes get the emails to say there is a new post, but when I come to check it out I find that there are another 60 pages on from that and I just cant keep up with you all!! You girls are amazing!!! :yahoo: I often think of everyone though and send good thoughts and hugs along even if I dont get around to posting them here!:o As for the Granny training, those of us still in training are learning lots about how to PARTY!!! :yahoo:
I am going to the Auckland Crop and am so excited about meeting some of your flatselves!! I will be there in my fatself!! You know that saying about not standing next to someone skinnier than you for a photo??!!! LOL!!
Daggie, of course you can stay here and eat as much pizza as you like!! If you are really well behaved Emily might even let you have a go on her tramp!!
Seeing as the flat grannies have been touring around I thought you might like to see this layout all about Kims Granddaughters Flat Stanella who has just been to visit us. I must say she might only be 6 or so but she was the perfect guest, and so well behaved!! Some people could learn a thing or two from her!!
I think some of her Grannys exploits have rubbed off on her though, as she was a bit of a daredevil - http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=173183&cat=500&ppuser=14007

Great LO's Grandmascrap. Cathiemarie, glad you got us back safely. Waiting to see LO's.
Have a good day everybody.
I'd love to come to the Auckland crop too. As Flatties, we can be in several places at the same time. Right? because we should be arriving in Egypt with Kash about that time.
I used some of those "masks" on the edges of the photos in this LO. I don't think that I've mastered it yet. I'll keep trying until I get it right.
I like the effect. Tell me what you think if you have time to take a peak. Thanks.cc welcome.

We'll probably start washing and waxing the outside of our RV today. What fun.
Yesterday I finally sorted through the LAST of the storage stuff. I had one large and two small tubbies of stuff I wanted to scan but time is running out so now I'm down to one small tubbie that we can take along if necessary.

Oh Freda... thanks for the tour today, I love those Spanish Missions, saw one up north of Lompoc a few years ago. Lovely day here in Texas - 80 degrees, sunny. I scrapbooked this morning. Took an hour long nap. Walked several miles this afternoon. Made strawberry ice cream. It was just my DH and me all day - a real treat after several days of company.
I'm looking forward to the one year celebrations. I should have access to the internet again by then.

Happy Belated Birthday, Carma. Glad you had a nice visit with your daugher. :love1:
We both have March birthdays. In Illinois that means I never know what kind of weather we're going to have! A lot of years DH & I have gone on a fishing excursion around that weekend. This year I think the DGSes are coming for a visit with Daddy, while Mommy works her two 12's! Can't wait! :yahoo:
OMG - gotta go, I think my legs are starting to cramp...and for sure, my toes are killing me.

HI Kasha! Felix is so looking forward to Egypt where he will be elevated to god status (so he thinks!) ;) Well if you have the pierced belly I think you would look good in a belly dancer outfit. I got the belly but it is not my most attractive feature! I am seriously thinking of the burkha! Well ... don't want all those sheiks fighting over me!! I love watching the Indy races too when we can get them down here. We have Indy on the Gold Coast in Spring in Queensland, love to watch that, in fact it is on my holiday wish list for one day! Sigh!! It must be so exciting being so close to the action at Indy, we are seriously jealous!! :D . Dan's at the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Melbourne, the main race is on Sunday, he goes for Ferrari and Kimi Raikonnen. Good luck with your celebrations, 2 bottles of Dom? I think you will have a good time!
Happy Birthday Carma for last week!! I got a free coupon from DSP for my birthday last year. I didnt realise until the day before that I hadnt put my birthday down so I hurriedly did it and got a coupon! ;)

Freda, your layouts are beautiful, what a gorgeous place you live in! Love that Spanish style architecture, beautiful parks and beaches. I think you will have trouble moving us on!!

Happy belated birthday wishes Carma((hug)) and happy birthday to Margie too, we know she lurks here sometimes:D
Deb, you go girl with the blinkie!! I have a vacant creative mind right now so all out of brilliant suggestions:D I was just reading through some old class notes from DSU198 which I completed a year ago and discovered that you were one of the students in that class. Did I "know" you then? Big congrats to your daughter, she is going so well with her digi scrapping-do you see much of her these days:D?????
Anyone with any ideas for a fun challenge for our birthday celebrations? Lets all put our best foot forward and make this a terrific fun time...OK that's my contribution - encouragement:D:D (I'll try to do better:()
Alky Inky, I thought you might be looking for a full bottle of wine by now.... after all you do have to share with thirty or so flatties you know! Hope you weren't so desperate that you sampled Cathie's perfume?????

Alky Inky is on the wagon and has a giant headache - must be starting to sober up, or maybe it was Cathie's perfume that I drank by accident(They do say it is made with 98% proof alcohol) hicup:shocked:

Freda, My Birthday was posted with DSP and they sent me a card and a free coupon for a kit...I used it that day...it was on Sat. the 10th so I am sure people missed it as they were off doing their things.
Thanks to all of you for the PMs and notes on this thread and on the LOs I have done. I know you all care, and I was not in the least bit hurt. So rest assured I am happy. Trying to get caught up a bit and wow this thread keeps one busy jut trying to read it.

We broke a record today it is the hotest it has ever been on March 16th in our history. It was 88 degrees, wow that was nice. We enjoyed it, Dick and Fritz enjoyed the patio and I took a nap......LOL yes a nap, I usually do not do that but today I was ready for one.
I also think we should do something for our BD. on this thread. I don't make Blinkies, but Maybe we could make BD cards and post them in our Gallery. Or use a theme or a style for a LO.
I have been busy doing BD cards for all my April family BDs today. I like to do them a month ahead and hope I get them mailed on time. YIKES, EAster and Mothers day are right around the corner.
I am off to bed now...hubby is watching a basket ball game. nighty night....Love this group.

JILL EG, don't feel lonely, I have a vacant creative mind 96% of the time! (That's why it's so much easier for me to "chat" than to scrap!:( )
Carma, send some of that heat out to your east, would you please? I liked you monthly card idea. What I do - when my printer starts telling me my ink is low, (knowing that it cries "wolf" for a good, long time  ), I go to my calendar and make cards for upcoming b'days, holidays, etc. until I'm actually out of ink. That way, I don't ruin a scrap page with off-colors, and I feel I'm being "thrifty"!
JustScraps, if things really do come in three's, perhaps he'll now be on the upswing.  to you both!
Yhalos, oh my goodness! Stitches? From a fall from bed? Praying everything turns out well for both of you.

Felix looks just adorable in his skirt for NZ! That's one crazy putty cat you have there Vallie! So, what does one wear to go to NZ?? Have to research that one! I'm sure your son is having a great time at the race, how could he not be! I don't follow it closely enough to have a favorite, it's just one of those things I get excited about by being in the moment when there. Years ago, I paid for a chance to ride in a car with Johnny Rutherford around the track at Indy....what a thrill that was! He didn't drive at the speeds they do on race day, but fast enough for me to experience what it must feel like....exhilirating!
Thanks for all the congrats on our 10th anniversary. Our party turned out to be somewhat somber as one of our local business associates was killed in an automobile accident yesterday morning. It was so tragic and naturally our thoughts were for him and his family. So.....we are going back in later today to meet with someone from a food pantry to take the tons of leftover food. I wanted to share the recent composite photo that was taken of everyone at my office....looks so pixalated for posting, but you'll get the idea of what we are going for. Our advertising rep is getting us a lot of bang for the buck with this photo and will be using it in a variety of ways. I'm in the center and my two business partners are standing on either side of me...the rest of the lovely ladies are our "business associates".....I hate calling them employees....they are far more than that. Us (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=173529&cat=500&ppuser=41076)
Carma.......I am so sorry for missing your birthday! Happy birthday to you! I am glad you are feeling better and will be glad for you when the tests are all complete.
I hope your daughter wasn't hurt too badly in the fall Yhalos.....always something it seems. I'm glad to see you pop in when you are able and that we know how you are.
Inky......it's time for a refill on that empty bottle you've been toting around and I have two unopened bottles of Dom....want one of them when you've recovered from your headache? We should have had them to take to France with us.
Better move along...spring break is over already and I have to take my son back to school tomorrow. When I get to Lafayette, I'll yell out a big hello to you Crys..the big old Wabash will carry it right to ya!
Happy weekend everyone.

Of course, I'll be happy to share my ice cream. It is pretty healthy ice cream. I hope that is okay. It is made with Y.U.M. milk (special milk that is supposed to lower cholesterol), non-dairy coffee creamer, a bit of powdered milk, some vanilla, strawberry yogurt, some Splenda, and frozen strawberries. I just throw everything in our Vitamix (really loud super blender) and let it twirl until it is ice cream.
If I throw in a bunch of fresh vegies, a little water, and low sodium bouillon, I've got soup - hot soup. Anyone want soup or does everyone prefer ice cream?
Yhalos - is the daughter who got hurt the one who was taking care of you? I hope she's okay.
Vallie - When do you go to Egypt? I'm with you on the burhka. Sigh. Maybe I should make my flat self one before we go to Egypt. I assume you couldn't bear to go without all the flat grannies. :-) I like your new avatar, but almost didn't recognize you for a minute.
JustScraps - I'm thinking good Karma thoughts for you and your son!!!
Carma - 88 degrees is kind of toasty, but a nice toasty in your part of the country. It was a lovely 75 degrees here today. Half a dozen of us played music on the porch of an Irish shop this afternoon. I would have been happy with the free shortbread cookies, but we got money and a gift certificate for having fun.

It was weird. I hate phones and rarely make phone calls but had this need to call my granddaughter one Saturday night over five years ago just to visit. Thanks for the link Jan.....guess I didn't look hard enough. I'm trying to keep my mind occupied today and work on some layouts.....I also have a mean case of scrappers block... nothing is coming out the way I want it to. Crys and Jill, please throw me in the mix for a few extra cells...I so need them.
Karen, I'm so sorry about your granddaughter. I've seen some of your posts before about her, but didn't know the whole story. You are so right about taking the time to tell someone that you love them ~ something we should do often.
Jill.....Lizzy went to the Florida Keys this week...lucky girl that she is. Don't know about the others though.....just wondering about them myself.
I am working on the next batch of love boxes to send to Iraq and thought that I would print out a couple of flat grannies to send with each monthly shipment. I thought I might write each flattie name on the back of it, where you're from and just a few words about you....what do you think?? If I send 2 or 3 flatties a month, then each flatty would make it to Iraq and definitely make a young soldier's day. I suppose I should add that if you do not want to go to Iraq, please let me know in the post or PM......I'd totally understand. I've had one short phone call from my son since they arrived in Iraq from Kuwait about 10 days ago. I'm still not quiet sure where they are at in Iraq, but have a pretty good idea from the "code talk" my son and I work out in advance of deployment. He should soon be able to check in more often and give me more details about what is happening there.
Well, I'm going to try giving this scrapping thing another shot before calling it a night. Take care dear ladies.....and heeding Karen's good advice......:love1:

Trying to take care of business here, while watching the College Basketball Tournament. The Old Dear is in the other room watching the Hallmark Channel. What seems to be wrong with our relationship? Right now I am watching my Alma Mater, Michigan State University but I also watch other teams that are doing well, including my adopted Florida Gators.
Kasha, so sad to hear about the pall that was over your party. I would love to visit with a serviceman (or woman) who needs a hug even if it IS a paper hug.
Evergreen, I want to go to New Zealand in the worst way. No...not WORST! I will behave myself I promise!
Karen, FTRV, that bit you just told us about your granddaughter is chilling. I cannot pretend to imagine.
On a better note, I am hoping you can show me how to make that ice cream this summer. We eat WAY too much of the "bad" ice cream and I would welcome something with less guilt.
GrandmaScrap, I like the simplicity of the layout you mentioned but if you are unhappy you could add a texture to the background or a fine, large swirl to pull it together. or enlarge the title. You can always undo it if you like the lovely simple layout you posted.
The other day I remembered writing an article with a couple of layouts for Doris Castle. Today I sent her an email to see if it had been published. Well it WAS. My DH's daughter (who did NOT care to have her picture taken) and her husband celebrated their 25th anniv. by having many professional pictures taken. Two days later she was killed in a car accident. (Three years ago this past Monday.) We continue to be so grateful for those very poignant pictures!

I just wanted to post some freebie links to some kits that I made but I started reading to catch up on the thread.. Wow. It never fails to amaze me the things that all of our lives we seem to have taken for granted, never thinking that they would one day not be there. The heart ache never really fades away. But in our hearts I dont think we ever really want it to totaly heal. That would almost be like forgetting and we can never allow our selves to forget. So much tragidy in life. But... So many things to be grateful for too. My prayers and wishes go out to all of you who are in need of a little extra lift.
Here (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=173718&cat=500&ppuser=11575) are the freebies that were ment to be my original post. lol I hope that you can use at least part of them to make your BEAUTIFUL pages!

 yeh, my virtual home is much tidier than my real home! :D I changed my avatar, it took ages fiddling around with codes. I put the picture on photobucket and they give 3 different codes depending on what you do with it, of course I chose the wrong one on several occasions! But finally got it sorted. ;) It is Sunday here now, I think I will get rid of that little pest in a minute! Might look for a easter bunny.
Freda, gosh you live in a great place, your photographs are gorgeous!! We certainly are having a ball!

My PSE organiser is in reasonable order but my hard drive (due to ignorance on my behalf) was an absolute disaster:cry:    so she set me the task to get it into ship shape order, which created even more problems for me because it seems I had my hard drive set up totally incorrectly and everything fell apart in a heap - including me:mad:   It is going to take me weeks to fix it all up - but I only have myself to blame:mad:
Vallie - Felix looks fantastic in his NZ outfit and so do you - are you two going to be doing the Haka? you might be able to put it onto "Youtube"
Havent had time to read through the last 10 pages so I hope that everyone is doing well and less frustrated than me!!

Poor Inky!!! Hope you didnt lose anything!! I should do some backing up soon too, I keep putting it off because I find it tedious burning cds. I got a dvd burner now so should use that I supposed. Sigh, I am so lack lustre lately!!
Me and Felix doing the haka??, I'd like to see that!! I can do the poking out the tongue bit though!! :p

Thanks Justscraps for donating those gorgeous kits for us to use:love1: :love1:
I have done a scraplift of Vallie's Princess Summa layout with the Princess Collection kit- you are a very talented lady Justscraps, I couldnt even begin to understand how you create these things!
Here is my layout - I have borrowed my girlfriends GD's as I am devoid of cute little girl pictures:cry:   Birthday Party (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=173785&cat=500&ppuser=44859)

GrandmaScrap -
What a story and I am so sorry for your loss too. Doesn't it almost seem sometimes like we know without knowing?
RV, you hit the nail on the head and brought chills all over me. She was the "heart and soul" of the family and there isn't a day goes by that I don't miss her.

  Oh you guys have no idea what I went through this weekend. My poor daughter fell off of her bed and had to go to the hospital to get stitches. :( Thankfully she is ok. Just have to keep an eye on her and make sure things run smoothly. She came here after she got out of the hospital and rested and slept most of the day. She went home last night with her DH and I will call her later to make sure she is doing well. Thank you all for your well wishes, it was a little scarey.
Oh lord, then to top it off, my sweet DH wanted to surprise me with a new desk for my computer since the one I had was rather small and I really didn't have much room for working on , to make a long story short. He and my SIL put it together and it is great but when they reconnected everything I had no internet connection...    . I was going nuts since I hadn't uploaded my DET 2 LO. We tried everything, calling my cable connection company and they said it was the modem.
I was going insane  to put it mildly. So, I decided let me go to bed since it was late and I'll deal with it in the morning. I just knew in my heart that it was something silly a little quirk. This morning I tried a few different wirings and nothing, then I just disconnected my modem reconnected it and here I am...:yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:   ..I can't tell you how happy I am.
Well, I will catch up with you all later.. I am going to upload my LO before something else happens....have a great day, love you guys....

poor porr yhalos!! Oh I know how irritating that "no connection" notice can be! I got a new desk in February last year.. LOL Gues what happened.. Humm must be that the modem doesnt like new desks! I'm glad you got it all figured out without having to commit computerhomocide. hehehe

Hi ladies! I'm so behind in reading again that I don't entertain thoughts of getting caught up. I've just been through the galleries and tried to leave comments on all of the beautiful layouts you have been creating. I finished my 10 in 2 and now just have my Heriteag lo to complete. My daughter and GS are leaving in just over a week to return to CA for a few months. I'm sure that my house will be flooded with company this week, as everyone will want to visit before they leave.
Jamie, I have bookmarked your links for freebies. They are beautiful and will be a wonderful addition to the kits I have.
To the rest of you, I'm sending hugs and prayers to all that need them. Thinking of the ones we haven't seen in a little while and hoping all is well.
Hugs to all,
JaeDee

Please Read Okay down to Celebration business!
Deb has agreed to make us a new blinkie but would like some help! I think it needs to be a long term one. Not just for our celebration! I was thinking "Go, Grannies, Go!!" Kind of theme. Any other suggestions.
We were thinking that a DSP wide LO challenge would be a fun. I would like to propose that we have-- create a LO about a "Strong, Inspirational, or Couragous Women" in your life. We could call it the First Annual Kay Butler Scrapper's Challenge or something like that.
It would be fun to have the chat on Sunday at 6pm DSP time and annouce the winner then.
Vallie how do we go about setting something like that up?
JustScraps would you be willing to make us a posting bonus? We could use something that you have already created. I'm very impressed with your work.
Do we want to have a vote set up at the end or do a randon selection? I would be willing to provide the $3.99 for the winning LO.
OH and I love the idea of dressing our flat ones up for the week of the 22nd. Maybe we could make our flat one our avartars for that week.
Anyway those are my proposals. If anyone disappoves or has better wording or would like to add something, please, please, please speak up.

Jae Dee, I think those are all wonderful ideas and it sounds like a lot of fun! If you want to consider having a 2nd place winner for the layouts, I'd also be glad to kick in the cost of a kit....or whatever! I like that you want to name the challenge after Kay....cool idea!
Yhalos, so glad your daughter is going to be ok and that you got your internet connection going again. What a nice surprise it must have been to get the new desk.:)
Vallie, the Wabash is a big, old river that runs at least through Indiana and Illinois....should know my US geography better! There's an old song about the Wabash carrying things to different places...can't remember the words.....it's an older song than my time - making it pretty old! Your son must be celebrating since his fav won! Makes it even more exciting!
Well I got 5 layouts finished for the 10 in 2 challenge and I'm definitely not happy with them, but if I piddle around anymore, I will never meet the deadline. :( That's why I don't do many of the challenges.....the stress me out and cause me to say and do not so nice things.
I just took my Daisy girl on about a three mile jaunt and my ears were burning from the cold.....but I've taken a break and now it's time to get some things cleaned up around here before taking my son back to school.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend ladies!

Inkey and Dags, I need to have you tell me how to set up my hard drive, I probably have a mess too. Dags, got any suggestions as to how to do it that I can use? You can email me or PM me if you don't want to put it into this thread. Oh I wish I had someone close to show me what I should be doing.
Vallie I think it was you that said when your ink is low that you print of greeting cards...that is a good idea, I know we throw away a lot of good ink.
Jae Dee your suggestions for the birthday week sound great... just tell us what to do and I will do it.
Things have been hectic the past couple of days. I thought it would be nice to invite 4 friends over for St. Patricks day dinner and fixed it, cleaned the house and the dinner turned out so nice, company got here on time. my hubby got showered and dressed and sat in the recliner visiting with the company. Then we sat down to have dinner, all seemed to go well. Then hubby excused himself and got into the recliner chair and fall asleep. He has been sleeping most of the time since my daughter and her husband were here. I thought he needed someone to talk to etc.. to keep him interested. His recliner is just about 15 steps from the dining room table and he commented a couple of times from the chair before falling asleep. I woke him up when the company decieded it was time to leave, he appologized for not being better company. As it turned out I guess I was the one that needed the company and not him. It was too much for him. He went to bed a bout two hours later and is asleep now. I am ready to go in and do the blood suger and the puffers and pills, now. I have checked on him several times and he seems to be doing fine. My company said he looked awful tired. When My daughter was here last week end she said he looks like he is 150 years old. I was shocked. I guess when you see them every day you don't realize how they are going down hill. I have seen a change in him since she was here.
Karen I agree on when you feel the urge to make a call you should do it those prompting should never go unheeded. So glad that you made that phone call to your grand daughter.
Nice poem Gabby, thanks for sharing.
Kasha what is your business? I love the picture of you and your associates. Sorry that the one passed on due to a car accident. That would for sure put the party on a different light. Hope all of you are doing ok.
I need to go and change the clothes on my flattie if I am going traveling again. Also for the Birthday celebrations of the Grannie chat.
Jae Dee be sure to post the decisions of the week so we can get things done for it.
At this point in time I just need to have some one tell me what to do, my brain is so full of stuff right now it is hard to think of things.
I have appointments almost everyday this week between Dick and myslef.
Also need to go and get ink. Does anyone used the refilled inks from the shops that have cropped up at the malls etc? It is cheaper but is it as good? Is it the correct colors?
Thanks all you have all been so busy on Sat. I could not believe how much of the thread I had to go back and read.

Thanks for the kits Justscraps. Hope everyone is well, I'll never catch up. I've been busy trying to get all my challenges finished before all my company comes tomorrow. The grandkids will all be here for the day and assorted daughters, then my oldest daughter and her two children will be staying of for a few weeks so I won't have as much time for scrapping. I love the challenge idea and will definitely try to participate at least late at night when eveyone has gone to bed. BTW where are the flatties now? I seem to have lost track of them. :D

Thanks JustScraps:) for the link to your wonderful Kits, I have downloaded them and how I am off to have play with them, you must be one very clever dude to be able to make wonderful kits like these, the colours are great and so many bits and pieces in them. Thanks again, I love something for free…… I’m thinking good Karma thoughts for you.
I notice that your LO photos and flatties of you in your signature line are direct links back to your gallery as when I place my curser over them it turns into a hand…I have tried to do this and cannot:cry: …….can you help me out with this??? Yhalos, fell out of bed, stitches??? Does your daughter sleep in a tree house, hope all is well and not to serious. I have a new desk on my wish list, enjoy yours now that you have your connections up and running.
Kasha, sorry to hear about the loss of one of your locals and the dampener that this would have put on your celebrations. Your work photo was great, very professional, you could be my boss any day. I would be honoured to be sent to Iraq, if you send me in my French maid outfit the boys may be so interested in the body that they will not notice the wrinkles and sages….
Karen, I am so sorry about your granddaughter. My heart bleeds for you, to lose a loved one so young. Now that time has passed I am pleased that you can find some comfort in knowing that you have told her how much she meant to you.
JaeDee, love all your suggestions, and I could make that chat time…. Party clothes for our birthday, great idea we can also have cake, balloons and chocolate.
Freda, I am really enjoying being show around San Diego and you have taken us to some of the best places,:) most of which I have never even heard about. Where are you going to send us to now?
Ineke, I have worked out your main problem with your hard drive…..every time I go around your place it is sparkling clean:shocked: …now as every good scrapper knows that is just not on:D ….you have to neglect housework in favour of your hard drive…it will not matter if there is dog slobber on the windows, unmade beds and no clean clothes…you only have males in your house and they really don’t notice these things….cooking!!!! no… just send out for pizzas…...
I have now saved you hours of work   which can be spent on sorting out you hard drive instead….:D :D :D :D

Hello all.
I only just caught up with this last page so may have missed some important news around here.
YH -- stitches for your DD? Hope all is well.
JaeDee -- Sounds like you've got some things organized for our birthday celebration. I'll have to swing back & pick up that post for sure!!
Carma -- ((((((((Hugs)))))))))))).
Kasha -- (((((((((more hugs)))))))))). What a tragedy w/ the death of a business associate. Puts things in perspective with a jolt.
Vallie must have had something going on but I didn't read back far enough. Hope you are well, my friend.
Karen / rv -- (((((((hugs)))))).
All others -- I guess I'm handing out hugs to today so (((((((hugs))))))))).
Lizzie -- glad to see your wonderful posts. Always makes me smile when they pop up!
Ineke -- not sure I can help w/ a hard drive but hope you don't let it gobble up all your gorgeous LOs!! Get it fixed quick!! Maybe throw some chocolate at it???
We've all been under-the-weather here. Colds for hubby & me. Flu over at DD's house (so we didn't get to see those darling DGKs this weekend!). Can't wait for the consistent warm weather so we can open up these windows for awhile.
Saw the strangest thing in our neighborhood! A raccoon was stuck in the top of a neighbor's tree yesterday. We live in a busy suburb so this was quite a site. We drove by again later yesterday and again this AM-- still there. We called the fire-dept just in case no one had yet called them. Not sure what they will be able to do. Just seems sad to just do nothing.
So...... I did a LO (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=173627&cat=500&ppuser=41276). Yes, I need help!! Everything is a 'LO' to me anymore!! Do you-all have this same affliction?

Linkable signature line isnt hard once you know what to do. (I just read how to do it yesterday)
you have to have 2 url's for your photo. When you post in your gallery open the page, copy the address in the addy bar that is "code B". Go back to the thumbnail picture and right click the thumbnail and choose properties. In the window that pops up there will be another url address, that is "code A".
In the Signature box (the typing area) punch in this code and replace code a & b with the proper url address, here is the code:
[ url= "CODE A"] [img]CODE B[img] (http://digitalscrapbookplace.com/university/tutorials/signature.shtml)[/URL] poof you have a clickable link in your sig line.(type it without any spaces, but threads accept html so you have to add spaces to make it show up.)
Lost SnapDragon, just right click on one of the snapdragons still here, save as, and repaste it into your sig!
I'd also like to be sent overseas, just incase I forgot to say that before....

Hello everyone,
I just got done reading the last 15 pages in detail. It took me hours. I am astounded that everyone can find the time to scrap as well as post. I had a busy weekend. I have tons of work, but still managed to get 11 layouts done. I am traveling this week, so have to get bills paid and all the work done for the client I am visiting. I'm just feeling really unmotivated. Lisa Carter was on a roll - she put out over 20 new items this weekend. I scrapped a bunch of things, including Me 'n Gabby (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=173887&cat=500&ppuser=77821)
Of course, I scrapped Mark (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=173895&cat=500&ppuser=77821), Kayli (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=173898&cat=500&ppuser=77821)and Ashley (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=173897&cat=500&ppuser=77821). Also added one of Steven playing the piano (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=173896&cat=500&ppuser=77821). There's bunch more, too.
Maybe we could do more than one challenge for the granny-thread birthday party. I would like to see a trip around the world challenge where each of us takes the flat grannies to somewhere we've always wanted to go (virtually, since we obviously can't take them everywhere before then!) There are loads of pics on the internet (give appropriate credit) of different places all over the world.
Been working on the DET contest. Thanks for all your comments and support. It's great having multiple grannies making it to this round. ... unfortunately I'll be traveling all week. I hope I can get to the chat and see who makes it past this round. Not sure how well I'll do, there are some fabulous layouts and mine looks so plain next to them. Loving You - DET Rnd 2 Layout. (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=173167&cat=500&ppuser=77821)
Lisa's One of those Days Element Set (http://store.digitalscrapbookplace.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=5127) just about describes my life right now. I was tickled when I saw it - talk about an out of control, stressed life :) I need to take more pictures that illustrate what my days are REALLY like besides this one (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=173886&cat=500&ppuser=77821). That way when I retire I can look back and remind myself how GLAD I am to be retired.
Glad I got my Flatty in for Paris (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=172990&cat=500&ppuser=77821). I really need the holiday. I'm thinking it's about time my flat self laid on a beach somewhere, though, and rested! I certainly don't have time to, so one of my flat selves should get to.
All your sick family members and injured ones are in my prayers, along with each of you who has not been well. Kasha, I'm sorry about your coworker. All the stories about having photographs and conversations with those you loved before they died is really special to me. We took so many pictures of my son Chris while he was still well, but he wouldn't let us take pictures when he became ill. I respected that, but found a picture of part of his hand had crept into one of the pictures a few days before he died. I cut that out and kept it with me all the time for years. For his 21st birthday I had made him a book of pictures covering each year of his lift. After he died, we finished it with pictures of his memorial and tributes to him. Sometimes it is the pictures that carry us through a period of grief.
Well, I think this is long enough. Sometimes the short and sweet posts are easiest to read and I certainly haven't managed that!

I'm so happy that so many of you want to go to Iraq......I can't begin to tell you how much the guys will get a kick out this! Dags....they will think you are a hottie even without your French costume, but I was thinking that would be the one to send.....same goes for Inky. Hmm...better send you each in separate shipments, don't want to distract the poor guys too much! I made up 39 Easter baskets today for the guys, all filled with candies that won't melt in the Iraqi heat. Think I'll just tuck three of you inside the baskets - I'll be sure to take a photo to post.
For those of you who have asked about my company, I own an escrow and title company that has grown to three offices in Indiana and Ohio. I think that's what you Aussie girls would also know it by??? With the housing market being so sluggish, business has been slow, but thankfully we are muddling by. I've been very, very fortunate to have grown a sucessful business, try never to take it for granted and work hard to keep it going.
I think the little Meez characters are so cute! I went to the site and created one, and with Vallie's help, was able to save it as my sig....at least it shows it as saved when I went to the user control panel. So I'm guessing it will only show up on posts that I make after adding it? It wasn't there when I went back to previous posts...we'll see. I know I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to technology, but you'd think I could at least figure this out!

OK Crys.....is this going to be the blind leading the blind? Maybe we can muddle through this together and be as spiffy as the rest! I went back and looked at how I "think" I did it.....when you get ready to export, you will be prompted to select your size. When you click on the drop down box, the first two choices are for an animated Meez.
I even went back and figured out how to get rid of the words on each side of Meez...oh yeah, oh yeah...... Finally getting somewhere here!
Inky.....Betty Grable ain't got nothing on you and Dags!:D

Dags....they will think you are a hottie even without your French costume, but I was thinking that would be the one to send.....same goes for Inky.
I reckon they would think she was much more of a hottie WITHOUT her French costume:shocked:

[B]Linkable signature line isnt hard once you know what to do. (I just read how to do it yesterday)
 That sentence makes me laugh, and is such a "Granny thread" thing to write, Justscraps,  Unfortunately some of us can't even remembr what we read yesterday:eek:

Ineke, I have worked out your main problem with your hard drive…..every time I go around your place it is sparkling clean:shocked: …now as every good scrapper knows that is just not on:D ….you have to neglect housework in favour of your hard drive…it will not matter if there is dog slobber on the windows, unmade beds and no clean clothes…you only have males in your house and they really don’t notice these things….cooking!!!! no… just send out for pizzas…...
I have now saved you hours of work   which can be spent on sorting out you hard drive instead….:D :D :D :D
Someone at this site has a quote in their signature that reads something like "a clean house is a sign of a lazy scrapper". Sounds good to me:), I wouldn't want anyone to think I am a lazy scrapper now would I????
Come sort our my hard drive for me, Dags???

Jae Dee: Vallie how do we go about setting something like that up?
 I have no idea!!!! I have never used a chat program!!!! I love your ideas though, Go Grannies Go!!!! And the courageous women thing, you got my vote!! ;) Kay will be leaking all over the place when she reads your post!! :D
Yolanda, what a scarey few days for you, she must have really fallen hard or does she sleep on the top bunk? Hubby on the bottom bunk!!? ;) Glad she is okay but what a scare!
Crystal I think Meez and Patrick have run off together!!!!!!! :yahoo: He was wearing mighty thin!! I hope they dont reproduce!! I just thought, CathieM had a meez too, I wonder if he ran off with both of them!
Hi Kash, thanks for explaining the Wabash, I am sure I have heard it in a song before too, something about a Wabash cannon ball? Seeing it is a river, I dont think that makes sense some how! p.s. :D I'd love to come over and clean your loo!! :D
Carma, it wasnt me who said I print cards when the ink is low but it is a great idea whoever said it! ;) It might have been Crystal, I remember reading that post. I was a bit sad to read Dick seems a bit low, I do hope it is only temporary. You are right, we dont notice little changes when we see something every day. But you've been a great nurse to him and you are doing everything you can to help him. As for ink, I think it is best to buy the same brand as your printer. I used to get different brands but they eventually stuffed up the printer so I stick to Epson with my Epson printer.
Justscraps: I dont have any ideas but I like PINK! lol Yes, I figured that!! We've been getting lots of nice comments on the layouts we did using your kits too!! Thanks!!
OMG!!! I just saw CathieMs new Meez!! She is a real goer!!! She is just as frantic as my pesky little fella, who has gone now to cyber grave yard!
Crystal what do you want to do in your signature? I am no guru, I am just persistent and keep trying to find out stuff. I have been uploading the images I want to use in the signature into photobucket then linking back here (like the resized flat Vallies). The glitter "Valerie" I stole off photobucket, I just searched my name, and out of a zillion photos of all sorts of oddball Valeries:D , comes this sparkly name someone made. Then I got the image code and posted it here. If you typed in Crystal, you would get all sorts of odd-ball Crystal stuff I am sure :D !!!
Hi Roady (Deb), Everything okay here!!! Hope you are all over your colds now.:)
I worked today at the football stadium. The first home game is this weekend and they want everything looking its best for all the fans!! I work in there tomorrow and thursday too and friday and saturday in the club. A busy week for me. :yahoo:
Roady, Hope your little racoon has been rescued now! Great layout, nice of him to pose for you!
I'll be back later, starting to get caffeine withdrawals, MMMMMMMM .... Coffee!!!!! :yahoo:

I am reposting Jaedee's Birthday Business post for those who missed it. It is on PAGE 364, POST5459. Lets all get behind this and make it a fun celebration!
If anyone disappoves or has better wording or would like to add something, please, please, please speak up
I would like to donate a $3.99 shop voucher as a prize, also JD. (someone might let me know how to do that when the time comes:D)
I vote random selection to determine winners.
Dressed up in party dress flattie avatars sounds like a terrific idea, there are a few of our Granny members who haven't got "into" the flattie thing so their own choice of party avatar would suffice in my opinion:).
Aussie girls, 6pm Sunday 22nd April DSP time will be 8am Monday 23rd April for us! (I think:think: :)), a bit confused because of the daylight savings thing, US has already started and we will be finished it by then. At the moment there is a 15 hour gap, a week or so ago there was a 16 hour gap, in two weeks time there will be a 14 hour gap....confused??? Me too:D Might be safer to check the world clock http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html Click on USA -Ohio-Columbus in the Location drop down menu.
Hop in here girls and help JD out on this one:)

GrandmaScrap, I visited your NZ Flattie and left comments, I couldn't get the link to work for me though so clicked on the "Photos" button to take me to your gallery - you have lots of terrific stuff in there, I'll go back again and chek it out more thoroughly when I can:)
Are you getting tired of seeing the Queen of Amplitudinous Cleavage popping up one after the other after the other??? OK, I'll get off now and finish my Justscraps layout - isn't she so lovely to share those kits with us???
Edit: Oh I see, a lot of other posts have popped up between the Amplitudes, I don't feel nearly so bad now:D
