Oh Kay this is such a true to life story, where do you come up with such cute stories. I went and visited Kim's LO that you mentioned, left her a note and Oh what a wonderful LO. Tilly and Madison are just darling. I am off now to the physical therapy session and I weighed in today 12# off of my original weight, I owe it to the diabetic diet and exercise...and a lot of grumbling on my part...don't say chocolate around me. Well yogert lite is pretty good, had lemon last night...not quite what I wanted, but it was filling. Tonight I will try another flavor. LOL...life is interesting. See you in the comics.

oh my gosh ...kay you've really picked up my evening! between you four above me i've had alot to catch up on! i don't think i'll ever be as good at this chat part as the rest of you. it is kinda a handicap coming in late...lol.
well ....if i leave the captain morgan alone maybe it wouldn't be so hard!
it's already 8:45 here and since i get up at 5:30 i'm going to work on the new NKOTB thingy. Ewwwwwwwww...i don't want it to be about me!
anyways...i got this link in my email today and i want to share. i'm not one to forward things on in email but this one for some reason really touched me so i'm sending it on to you all too.
now...if your feeling a bit sentimental tonight ....get out the tissue before you read. otherwise i think it is worth the view.

Oh Daggie it has been a zoo with you gone, and I am not sure if the zoo was you out there in croc land or us here on the grannie site. LOL. We have has some good laughs at the things you have been doing on your trip. My trip will really be a cake walk compared to yours. Visiting family and going to have a good time. You will probably think HO hum she sure has a boring vacation. Can you believe I am just so happy to go and kick back and relax. It is going to be quiet and peaceful...oh wait 5 grand kids are going to be there and 8 adults all in one house...we may have a riot or something. Who knows.. I will take pictures for sure. Can't wait to be on our way. Lizzane I am going to go check out that web site you sent. Sentimental, that is me and I have a brand new box of kleenex here by the computer.

There is no way I can keep up with all of you! Thanks to everyone for the kind comments on my LOs. Carma I'm so glad you are losing like that. Yogurt is very good and if you NEED chocolate, Citrucel has a fiber shake. You just add cold milk and pretend it is a real milk shake! You mentioned grapes, just have a few and have them between meals so your sugar won't spike. Thanks Lizzanne, I enjoyed visiting that site. Kay the bear story is very cute and so true. Again, thanks for all the encouragement. I can't go back and see who to thank or I might lose this post. Are any of those new babies here yet? I can't wait to see the LOs. Off to visit more galleries.

Kay (TTYS “talk to you soon“) darling you spoke my mind exactly…. At the rate you gals are moving I am never going to get anything done… LOL… I think I spent almost 2 hrs on here yesterday just surfing a few of your galleries…. I usually like to leave at least a few words on each LO I peek at but had to rein myself in and only pick my most favorite to comment on… But I must tell you all “I AM SO DARN IMPRESSED”… Grannies, Granny wannabes and future grannies really do ROCK…..Daggie glad you made it back with out a croc bite.. LOL… You really are one adventures gal…. I hope you get the chance soon to show us at least some of the exciting happening… Did you get any photos of hubby sinking more tinnies and perving at the local talent:D :D :D :D? …I about fell off my chair laughing from the imagined picture… Oh and you are so welcome to any portion of any post of mine any old time… Jill loved your RGCer’s list….. I was thinking I was doing pretty good with names and basics until this past week…. Now, that list, is going up on the wall I front of my puter so as I won’t embarrass myself … I was excited to see a fellow Californian among us… San Diego is just a hop skip and jump for here, one of our favorite cities to visit and has our most favorite Mexican restaurants with the best margaritas…Casa de pica… Carma sweetie sure hope you and Dick have the most fab trip and visit… You really do deserve some plan old good times… We will miss your daily posts and be counting the days till you return…. I can just imagine how much catching up you will need to do after a month … Hey Jill any chance of you doing a condensed version of what happens while she is gone:D :D :D …Kay your Mamma Bear story was sooooooo cute. I was laughing my head off and had to read it to hubby…. I am not sure why but he didn’t think it was the least bit funny…In fact he walked off in a bit of a mood about it:eek:  …. Made me laugh even harder… Some people are just so thin skinned… Ok all I am going to bed.. I ache from top to bottom from shoveling gravel out of the way for the doggie run we had to make for darling rock eater… I was all excited to have her be able to use the doggy door again to go out and pee on her own… She won’t have any part of it… Left me 2 nice little presents to prove it… GRRRRRRRR… Good thing she is so darn cute…. Thanks Kay for advertising (blush)my newest LO of the little stinker …I loved trying a freestyle like LO.. Lots of fun to do….And thanks to everyone who has visited my gallery this week… I aways get an extra thrill seeing a comment from one of you gals …Speaking of advertising have any of you gotten any of the bad spam DSP has been referring to? I am a bit confused as to what it’s all about… Is it just some weirdo leaving bad comments or what? And Kay how come your posts are so much wider than all the rest of ours?.. I have to tab over to read it all through or copy and paste it on to a notepad...Ok I am really going to bed now…. Peace out:cool: with a yummy drink of choice ( mines lemon drop martini this week ):D :D :D

I just had to dash out to the shops and stock up on more tissues, I even smiled very nicely at the check out chick as I am going to have to work very hard on improving my dash. Love the Bear story Kay, sorry to say but it is very true to life, is it any wonder that us Mommy Bears are a little bit grumpy in the mornings.

oh you girls really make my day! all of you.
there is so much to read and so much to post about what i have read and yet i hate to scroll because i lose everything!!...lol.
speeking of dash...i'm improving on the dash before the leak!! i was wondering about kays extention myself. i was thinking it's just because she has so much to say they gave her more space????hahaha. personally my bifocals can only take in so much before my neck gets to creakin'. can't say i'm enjoying them at all.....lol.
NKOTB is no fun this time...i am so totally stuck. for one ..its blue which i plan to change to purple....and two, its gems and jewels...which i don't plan on using at all. and three....it's just not my thing at all. beautiful kit it is for the right lo tho.
there's a guy in there , papabob, too funny. his comment...."Thank you for the kit. It's lovely. Now I just have to figure out how to fit my 6'4", 285 pound frame into a sapphire necklace and feathers." OMG...i was laffin so hard.
should grab him into the granny room and find out what he's all about eh?
have a good day everyone!!!

ROTFL Liz..you go grab papabob and drag him round here ..bet he'd make a wonderful RGCer !! I know how you feel about having to use kits that don't "speak" to you ..I'm exacly the same ! I don't know why my my page is so wide ???? Like Liz says ..they must be catering for my big mouth !!Have sent them an e-mail asking how to fix it but no answer yet . Thanks for the kick in the butt re our "dash " ..I straight away phoned 2 friends and am going to try very hard to be nice !! Good on you Daggie for setting a sweet example !! LOL !!Freda ..are you suggesting a fibre-shake INSTEAD of chocolate ???? Now that sounds very cruel..you'll definitely have to come up with a better one than that !! I KNOW you get diabetic chocolate ..what's it like ?? Kim ..is your Silly Tilly STILL eating rocks ?? Or are you just not taking any chances ?? She sure sounds like a handful ..but what a darling !! I did'nt see anything about spam ?? Have you heard any more ?? Lemon drop martinis ?? YUMMY !! That sounds divine ..glad you learnt something of worth on your vacation !! Okay ..TTYS !!! (Like that !!) PEACE !!!

I am "dashing" off to improve my "dash" today!!! Thanks for the beautiful reminder Liz!! Something we all need to remember as we all move through our too busy lives i reckon! Go grab that papabob Liz, he sounds like such FUN!! The list of members I made up seems popular. I have been back and added a bit more about me and put in Freda's information and added Helen (diginellie) If anyone wants to share more about themselves I can add it to the post then we can have all of our information together and can refer any further new members to that post. The post is #474 (wow!) on page 32 (wow wow!!) Have a great holiday Carma, pleased you are back Daggie as is your son obviously :D. Good luck in the next NKOTB round, RGC participants, hoping to visit everyone's galleries again today. Any new babies YET??? Have a great day everyone!!

PS. Do try the right click on the other page numbers then "open in new window" if you want to scroll back to previous posts. Believe me, your typing is still there in the "quick reply" box when you come back to the last page. Works for me!

Sorry I have been AWOL from this thread for a while, life sort of took over for a bit there, but no need to panic, I came to my senses this morning and am back again! I have just read through about 4 pages of new posts....Have a wonderful holiday Carma, you and Dick so deserve a relaxing break...not that there will be much quiet relaxation going on with all those kiddies around but I know you will love it! Daggie, you need to be renamed Wonder Woman!! That sounds like some holiday!!
Any of the new bubbies arrived yet? I cant wait to see all the new baby layouts!! Congrats to all in the NKOTB contest, I was blown away with all the talent there!!!
I know there are heaps of comments I want to reply to but I'm running out of time again...I came to quickly read the new posts over an hour ago!! Whoops!! Sadly l must go back to life and get some work done...but while I'm at it I will be thinking of all the inspiration from your galleries and dreaming up new layouts!!
Huggies to all old and new! TTYS!!! (I love that one!!) mustn't forget Peace Out too!

Wow, had to read a lot to get caught up. You have all been busy, Kim is shoveling gravel, and Daggie is buying up more kleenex, Liz is having fun witht papa Bob in the group there. Is that some of the spam we are getting? I have not got any myself, but hope I don't it sounds as though some was just plain nasty. Ironed all day today, have my laundry caught up. YIPEE, I am really getting ready for my trip. Copying off files for my girls, scanned 97 dance pictures of my Grand daughter of her professional pictures of her and her dance group so that I can return them to my daughter when we go on our trip. She has some crazy idea of me making a quilt with pictures put on fabric out of her dance pictures. I am going to double think this one. LOL. I took one quilt to be quilted by machine it won't be back until about the end of October or the first of Nov. It is a gift for one daughter and her husband. I need to make the shams to go with it, One of you asked me what shams are. They are a pillow cover to go over bed pillows with the same design as the quilt. They will each have a quilt block in the center of them so they look nice on the bed, Decorator type pillows but they hold your bed pillows. Hot here again today, I will be happy when we have 80 degree days. Those are so nice. You all sound so busy. Keep up the great work some one needs to for those of us who feel like slackers right now. LOL. Kay you are giving us exercise moving the scroll button left and right with your wide posts. I am getting thin fingers...TeHeHe.

i'm not liking this right now!
i did improve my dash today though. right into the jaquizzi at sisters...lol.

Oh, this thread is just a kick!! Love it! Ditto on several comments re barely fitting everything in and needing to improve our dash. Loved that movie. Laughed out loud re the addiction thing from Pam ('my name is . . .')!!! Still laughing!!

Just a couple quick comments and then I'm dashing off to get going on the NKOTB thing. I agree w/ Lizzanne -- lovely kit (and how generous is DSP to give us those kits in NKOTB!!!) -- just not my kind of colors or bling-y stuff and certainly not my thing to get in front of that camera. I went on a search for 'me' pictures -- and was shocked. I truly do not have any recent ones except for my avatar where I'm hiding. SO I took a self-timed picture (didn't even want hubby to take pix). What's with that???? I'm not sure if is control-freakishness or what!
SO: Carma -- Have a fabulous break. Jill -- what an organized person you are!!! Thank you. You make this feel so 'at-home' so quick w/ your introductions.
Kay -- OK now that I know how awesome and sweet you are -- admission time on my end and I think I saw this posted on one of these pages earlier: Your avatar is funny-scary! Yours was one of the first ones I saw when I came to this site a few months ago and I really had to give some thought about coming back LOL!!! It makes me smile big now!!

OK -- I'm off to get something done on this lo and pop in and out of some of your galleries.

Later!!!

Yeah, Deb, that Kay had me scared for a bit until she posted a layout of herself and got caught out:D:D!! Just kidding! I always knew it wasn't a photo of her:) (I think)

St donut, I am SO SO sorry you lost your husband and only three years ago, I had no idea!! I am filled to the brim with admiration for you all over again!!! Hugs, hugs and more hugs!!! I will update the introductory post with your extra information. Is that OK?

Deb, Me???? Organised???? Definite contradiction in terms there :D

Hang in there Liz with your NKOTB I am sure you will turn out something extra special!! Same goes our other NKOTBers. wow, how confronting - creating a layout about yourself!! I would have failed at the first hurdle!!! NO ONE takes photos of me!!!!!!!!!! Tooooooo ugly!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Scarier even than Kays avatar:D

Liz and Deb, I just loved that kit when I did NKOTB, this may give you an idea of what I did for that kit. I did this LO about my daughter. I have used it so many times since the NKOTB. Mabye you just need to step back over night and give it a go tomorrow. Liz I went and saw your LO it is going well I think.

They seem to be very good kids from what we see in the scrapbook pages and you always have kind words for them. Cyber Hugs going your way. You are truly a saint.
Kay didn't you say your aviator is actually a picture of Julie Andrews made up for a movie she was in? You are a true character. You had the whole group running scared. LOL It is so neat to get to know the person who is really behind the aviator, So glad that you started this chat thread.

Was trying to let you know how much cyber support and thoughts and hugs are coming your way !! I also did that single Mom thing bringing up 3 kids and although it's really scary sometimes you seem to be doing ALL the right things ..there is always so much love and laughter in your LOs and you all seem to be so close ..that's what it's all about !! Ok first I read about Pam's loss (I am so sorry Pam. I agree 100% with Jill. You really do seem to be doing a fab job with what life has unfairly handed you.. Our St. Donut you truly rock) which already had me weepy, then I click on Lizanne's beautiful movie (sob, sob, grabbing tissues).. Guess that will teach me not to read this thread backwards again...Liz thank you for sharing such a beautiful piece with us.... Think I am going to have to write some of that down to add to a LO or 2. Yes Kay my little rock eater is still at it... We have not let her out of our site anytime we take her out but hasn't helped. She is just flat sneaky about it now. She walks along like she is just having a grand little doggie walk and then when she thinks she can get away with it she quick scoops up a rock and hides it in her cheek... Sometime we catch right off.. "Tilly! What have you got in your mouth you little stinker?" and she looks at us with her big puppy dog eyes and slowly lets it fall to the ground...LOL... Sometimes we miss her scoop but find her crunching away on the "cheek" stowed rock. Sooooo we have cleared an area just outside the doggie door, laid pavers down and corraled it with a dog fence...She is being a bit stubborn about using the dog door again but we will get her there I am sure and now we have a bit more peace were the rocks are concerned. She really is a great little pup with the exception of this rock eating thing... Jill you are such sweetheart gathering all our data and nicely organizing it for futre references... I love it. So here is some about me in a nut shell... California born, Southern California raised, Desert rat for 33 yrs . Married 32 , 5 children ( 4 girls & 1 boy), 29-10 years of age (the 10 year old is the only one still home), 6 grandchildren ( 4 boys& 2 girls) with 2 more coming ( one girl in mid October and another girl Christmas day)... I am a stay at home Mom/Grandma which keeps me on my toes. Love this thread, all the great gals I am getting aquainted with, this site and the digi photo/ scrapping life and an occasional flavored martini! :D Not necessarily in that order:D ... Peace out all you wonderful Gran's, & future Gran's:cool: ..

P.S. :D :D DAGWOOD:eek:  ... You are what we call a real pistol... lol

I'm sure it is very difficult to be doing all of this alone but you are doing a super job! I hope we can all be there to help you over the rough spots in the future. I'm so sorry you have to go through this but those beautiful children make it all worthwhile I know. Hello to everyone else.

The gorgeous dimpled Deb must be from a good gene pool ..I have to blame my Mum for my cellulite !!It has nothing to do with lack of excercise and far too much chocolate and red wine !! I think we should keep her ..we'll use her as an exception to the rule of grandmahood !! Love ya Deb !!! Kim -- I just checked out your album. When you said you really, really, really wanted cc from us, I was all ready to go (being in NKOTB right now keeps you in the mood!). Thought I would drop in and say a quick hi and catch up to everyones news. I have been busy with Amy and children home for vacation and loving every minute of it. I love reading all the news and let me say sorry to hear all the sad things going on in some of your lives. My prayers go out to all of you. I think the GOOD LORD tests us here on earth. He suffered and died for us and we must pass the tests He gives us here on earth. Carma I wish you continued success in your weight loss. It isn`t easy. I know at my age (63) it is hard to lose the extra pounds I put on in the winter and needless to say sitting in front of my computer for hours instead of walking is probably a big factor. BUT WHAT CAN I SAY- I am an addict. I am patiently waiting for my eighth grandchild and still have till Nov. My daughter is expanding a bit more this time and she is already wanting to have the baby. Doesn`t help when I pat her tummy and say "you usually get bigger second time around" lol. I love reading the poems and things as I can have my laugh for the day and also a good cry for the day. Talking about a cleansing. Hope you are settled in Avril and thank you for your sweet comments. Well dear ladies take care and will drop in again soon. Ang.

Ang thanks for you sweet comments. Yes, life is like that, I am doing good, so far now 13# and I am 65. It is harder at this time of our lives. I will be fine. I have loved looking at the LOs that have had links here. Wow they are great. I think I need the Rock Pool kit too. I have the other kits of hers for beach stuff but this one is fantastic too. After seeing Kim's Layout using it I am inspired. I really plan on taking lots of pictures while with the family this next month. What a wonderful group of women. I am so happy to be among such wonderful Scrapbookers and friends.

Hi Ladies, I have been feeling quite uncommunicative the last few days, caught up in the daily grind and its problems I think, but I have been having glimpses in the grannies thread and keeping up with all that is happening, trust Daggie to want to drag the lipstick out at the thought of a scrapping man amongst us, she is such a flirt!!
Donut, you are one amazing lady bringing up your children by yourself, life really isnt fair at times, but still we hang in there and cope somehow.
I found this great little story that I thought you girls might like, here goes:-
Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man
> was allowed to
> sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid
> from his lungs. His bed
> was next to the room's only window. The other man had to spend all his
> time flat on his
> back.
>
> The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and
> families, their homes,
> their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had
> been on vacation.
>
> Every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he
> would pass the
> time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside
> the window.
>
> The man in the other bed began to live for those one hour periods where
> his world would
> be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and colour of the world
> outside.The
> window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on
> the water
> while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm
> amidst flowers
> of every colour and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in
> the distance.
>
> As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the
> man on the other
> side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque
> scene.
>
> One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by.
>
> Although the other man couldn't hear the band - he could see it. In his
> mind's eye as the
> gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words.
>
> Days and weeks passed. One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring
> water for
> their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window,
> who had died
> peacefully in his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital
> attendants to take the
> body away.
>
> As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be
> moved next to
> the window.. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making
> sure he was
> comfortable, she left him alone.
>
> Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first
> look at the real
> world outside.
>
> He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed. It
> faced a blank wall.
>
> The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate
> who had
> described such wonderful things outside this window
>
> The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the
> wall.
>
> She said, "Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you.
>
> Epilogue:
>
> There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own
> situations.
>
> Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is doubled.
>
> If you want to feel rich, just count all the things you have that money
> can't buy. "Today is a
> gift, that's why it is called the present."
>

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Helen let us know when the baby arrives and give us all the details. Nice once again to have you hear.

Hi Everyone and thanks for the lovely welcome, also thanks to the nice ladies who commented on my LO's, so lovely to receive a comment on one that had so far had none:) Our new grandbaby arrived last night at 6.30 p.m. His dad came running out of the birthing suite all teary calling out `he's out, he's out'. So sweet as its their first baby:) Looks like they are going to call him Tate Timothy or is it Tait, not sure about the spelling or the name but he is their baby after all :) We are going back to see him tomorrow and then I can do a LO with me holding him. We are moving in a week or so and at our new place we will be able to get broadband, I can't wait as I have been digiscrapping on dial-up for over 2 years now and my patience is almost run out. Anyways then I will be able to post more often and visit the galleries as well

Hi grannies all, welcome to Diginellie and I loved Ineke's story about the dash as well. It's a good one. Our basement / slash garage is finally finished. It's a drive under with front garage and large 30X15 room in the back. We painted the garage and finished the concrete floors and got storage for organizing everything and we also had the room in the back finished. The carpet went down on Friday. It all looks great but thank heaven, it's over now. I've read funny stories from South Africa and from Australia so here's a slightly irreverant, Southern USA classic, redneck joke:

An Irishman in a wheelchair entered a restaurant one afternoon and asked the waitress for a cup of coffee. The Irishman looked across the restaurant and asked, "Is that Jesus sitting over there?" The waitress nodded "yes," so the Irishman told her to give Jesus a cup of coffee on him.

The next patron to come in was an Englishman with a hunched back.
He shuffled over to a booth, painfully sat down, and asked the waitress for a cup of hot tea. He also glanced across the restaurant and asked, "Is that Jesus over there?" The waitress nodded, so the Englishman said to give Jesus a cup of hot tea, "My treat."

The third patron to come into the restaurant was a Redneck on crutches.
He hobbled over to a booth, sat down and hollered, "Hey there, sweet thang. How's about gettin' me a cold glass of Coke!" He, too, looked across the restaurant and asked, "Is that God's boy over there?" The waitress once more nodded, so the Redneck said to give Jesus a cold glass of Coke, "On my bill."

As Jesus got up to leave, he passed by the Irishman, touched him and
said, "For your kindness, you are healed." The Irishman felt the strength come back into his legs, got up, and danced a jig out the door. Jesus also passed by the Englishman, touched him and said, "For your kindness, you are healed." The Englishman felt his back straightening up, and he raised his hands, praised the Lord and did a series of back flips out the door.

Then Jesus walked towards the Redneck. The Redneck jumped up and yelled, "Don't touch me...I'm drawin' disability.

Tee Hee - have a great weekend all!!

Carma -- we will miss you bunches. Enjoy the visit! I spent a few minutes last night catching up on old posts in this thread. I think I've got this right: you were a mom of 3 at an early age due to marriage which made you a grandma at 29! And now a very very young great-grandma! What a rich heritage! WOW! No wonder you have lots of good stories and journaling on your LOs.
And Kay -- You are a riot!!! Your proposal story had me laughing for an age! I can't remember who all had the other stories ( I know Jill and Kim figured into a lot of the stories) but I was having a blast reading thorugh those first few pages of this thread and never did get to the LO I was supposed to be working on last night.
So now I have two addictions in my 'grandma' years: Digiscrapping and this grandma thread! Is there any help for us?????

ok ...you ladies overwhelm me.!! haven't been able to catch up for a couple of days now just way to much going on around here. just trying to read through the last couple of pages is like sitting down and reading a novel...you need a couple hours to catch up where you left off!!..lol. i was dashing through some galleries (and i do mean dashing!) i'm so hoping someday i can get to be as ambitious as the rest of you...how in the heck do you all get done to put up so many? and very nice ones at that!!
i'm sending my old photos to freda....oh what the heck..i'll just pay her to do my heritage thing all together!
i'll always want to be a wannabee...wannabee as good at digi stuff as the rest of you RGCer's...thank goodness for the galleries. i'm snatching them all and replacing photo's and i'll live on the run from you all!
Ang....you and i are waiting for a new bundle of joy in nov....who's going to get it first....meeememememmeeeeeeee! i think, i hope, oh...I AM!
ineke..ineke...bringing a lump to our throat! what a wonderful story. a cut, paste and save for sure.
ok robbie...and then i read the redneck....lol..kept that one too!
did someone say something about there being a post on "who's who" in the RGCer's? I like the idea of it. did it happen or did i just think it did??
ok ....i'm going to be awol for a couple of days starting sunday night. got the grandkids spending a few days with me and i'll have my hands full for sure. i've got to get my paint by numbers done tonight to get it in the gallery by due day...so i'm off to scrappieland.
but i'd like to say thanks for all the cc's on my lo. i haven't done anything to the nkotb and i guess i'll just put it in the judging gallery as is. no time no time no time! thanks for all the support!

Congrats helen, so envious, all those new baby smells, photos and first's to scrap ..... Carma have a wonderful break, will miss your updates. Its gotta be getting close for you Kay. Maybe this week...
Went to the Dr myself last week for a breast scan. And I found this which I thought described it perfectly!!!.
The Mammogram By Julia Napier

For years and years they told me,
Be careful of your breasts.
Don't ever squeeze or bruise them.
And give them monthly tests.

So I heeded all their warnings,
And protected them by law.
Guarded them very carefully,
And I always wore my bra.

After 30 years of astute care,
My gyno, Dr. Pruitt,
Said I should get a Mammogram.
"O.K." I said, 'let's do it."

"Stand up here real close" she said,
(She got my boob in line),
"And tell me when it hurts," she said,
"Ah yes! Right there, that's fine."

She stepped upon a pedal,
I could not believe my eyes!
A plastic plate came slamming down,
My hooter's in a vise!

My skin was stretched and mangled,
From underneath my chin.
My poor boob was being squashed,
To Swedish Pancake thin.

Excruciating pain I felt,
Within it's vise-like grip.
A prisoner in this vicious thing,
My poor defenseless tit!

"Take a deep breath" she said to me,
Who does she think she's kidding?!?
My chest is mashed in her machine,
And woozy I am getting.

"There, that's good," I heard her say,
(The room was slowly swaying.)
"Now, let's have a go at the other one."
Have mercy, I was praying.

It squeezed me from both up and down,
It squeezed me from both sides.
I'll bet SHE'S never had this done,
To HER tender little hide.

Next time that they make me do this,
I will request a blindfold.
I have no wish to see again,
My knockers getting steam rolled.

If I had no problem when I came in,
I surely have one now.
If there had been a cyst in there,
It would have gone "ker-pow!"

This machine was created by a man,
Of this, I have no doubt.
I'd like to stick his balls in there,
And see how THEY come out!

have a wonderful week all......

Daggie your LO if the croks is a riot, you have done such a great job on it. your extractions and putting one picture with another is wonderful. I just have to tell you a sad story, about 3 years ago a family from Spokane Washington was in austrailia on vacation. They were in a boat on a tour and a big croc snatched our friends daughter out of the boat and killed her. She was my grand daughters friend and I have a hard time looking and feeling the same about crocs every since this. You were really in dangerous territory. You are brave and I know these pictures are cut and moved but it was a worry to me just knowing you were going to be where those animals were. We are glad you are home safe and sound.

Carma you are one amazing lady to have had to cope with losing 2 sons and you still always seem so bright and cheerful and on top of things, still life throws us lots of curve balls and we just have to cope and continue onwards. Competition tennis Wow that’s right up there with a kick butt karate granny…. Very cool… Loved the LO of your sudo grand child. hope everyone is doing well .

Ditto LOL Robbie. I've already sent it on to my Mom. My Mom is still quite the active computer-granny at 73! I keep trying to talk her into digi-scrapping but she's going to stick to paper-scrapping!
I love your idea, Liz, re a chat! Hope your computer gets back in order quickly. We'll all have to figure out if there really is a time when we'd all be adequately awake to do that. Of course with Wen's approach of being up in the middle of the night due to menopause, time really won't matter (hey I can SO identify with your LO -- I mean artwork!!)
I don't know about Liz but I'm glad to be done with NKOTB -- it was fun but the timeline pressure isn't my cup-o-tea since work & family obligations don't always allow for good chunks of digi time (much to my chagrin!). I have got to figure out how to get these lo's done more quickly!!
Oh, the NKOTB final challenge was to find a page we liked in the gallery and tell why we liked / try to scraplift / yada-yada. Anyway I went into my 'favorites' gallery to figure out what I liked -- GUESS WHO I FOUND THERE!! I had already had almost everyone of YOU-ALL in my favorites before I even knew you. Really -- no lie! I thought that was cool -- loved your style before I even knew how awesome this group was!

Deb, I felt a bit the same after the last one. All the RGCrs that entereed did so well. A lot of pressure. But you can breathe bit easier now.
Kay any news? Your posts should come with warnings!! Just taken a large mouthful of coffee, read your comment re the "its just the child inside playing with matches", & ya thats right all over the keyboard. so funny.
anyway gotta dash. have a great week.

Just had to post this joke to you ladies enjoy!!
HAVE YOU EVER BEEN GUILTY OF LOOKING AT OTHERS YOUR OWN AGE AND THINKING, "SURELY I CAN'T LOOK THAT BAD?"

I WAS SITTING IN THE WAITING ROOM FOR MY FIRST APPOINTMENT WITH A NEW
DENTIST. I NOTICED HIS DDS DIPLOMA, WHICH BORE HIS FULL NAME. SUDDENLY, I
REMEMBERED A TALL, HANDSOME, DARK-HAIRED BOY WITH THE SAME NAME HAD BEEN IN MY HIGH SCHOOL CLASS SOME 40-ODD YEARS AGO! COULD HE BE THE SAME GUY THAT I HAD A SECRET CRUSH ON WAY BACK THEN?

UPON SEEING HIM, HOWEVER, I QUICKLY DISCARDED ANY SUCH THOUGHT THIS
BALDING, GRAY-HAIRED MAN WITH THE DEEPLY LINED FACE WAS WAY TOO OLD TO HAVE BEEN MY CLASSMATE. HMMM, . . . OR COULD HE? ? ?

AFTER HE EXAMINED MY TEETH, I ASKED HIM IF HE HAD ATTENDED MORGAN PARK HIGH SCHOOL? "YES. YES, I DID. ! I'M A MUSTANG, " HE GLEAMED WITH PRIDE.

"WHEN DID YOU GRADUATE? " I ASKED.

HE ANSWERED, "IN 1969. WHY DO YOU ASK? "

"YOU WERE IN MY CLASS! " I EXCLAIMED.

HE LOOKED AT ME CLOSELY.

THEN, THAT UGLY, OLD, WRINKLED SON-OF-A-BITCH ASKED, "WHAT DID YOU TEACH? "

LOL Ineke thats so funny!!! I am chuckling away to myself here!! Luckily I have learnt (yes, the hard way!!) not to hold drinks while reading this thread, so my laptop is safe!!
Wen that layout it AMAZING!! Wow! Not only is it a beautiful wonderful work of art, but it shows me what I'm in for...!! Its in my faves so when my time comes I can relate to it even better!!!
Robbie that Grandma one was funny! I have seen it somewhere before and sent it to my mum who is also quite computer savvy!!
Carma, you are one amazing incredible inspiring woman, I hope when I "grow up" to be a granny I can be half as awesome as you! What a lot life has thrown you and you still have that cheerful spark shining through. Enjoy your break you deserve it!!
Well just dashing in and out, rush rush as always, hugs to all and dont forget PEACE OUT! :)

Oh that was a funny one Ineke. Will have to send it off to a few of my ageing friends. Robbie yours is a great one also. Think Kay posted it for us all the way back in our RGC beginnings. So yesterday I went in for my 1st Mam    . Now I just don't know why I have been putting it off for so long. What a joy.. NOT!!!!!! I would rather go to Ineke's insulting Dentist and have a root canal :D :D :D .. Good Lord I am still sore today. And ladies please tell me I will always have a woman tech doing my Mams of the future.... I think I would have to slap a man if he had to handle my boobs the way this gal had to    . Speaking of men, you just know a man designed a Mam machine.. I can't help but think if he had to lay his :D "Boys":D up in one and squeeze them as if one was trying to make some kind of wine, we gals would have us a more comfortable way of keeping an eye on our breast's doings... I am so looking forward to another next year.. No, No a life time of them.. Yippee ..... Peace Out Ya'll:cool:

G.morning all,:) :( this thread moves along at such a cracking pace, I have trouble keeping up…Carma, I now know where you get your great strength of character. To lose 2 sons so young and so close together, must be every family’s nightmare. You and your H, George must be a wonderful couple and great examples for the rest of your family. Hope you are currently romping on the floor with grand kiddies, having a ball…. Wen is doing some amazing stuff and I will be rooting for her in the DET contest, way above my class…..Kay, getting closer, and news yet….Robbie…have you scrapped some pages of your porcelain dolls? would love to see them….I have an alarm clock..Re Liz's Chat. How did all NKOTB’s go…I hope you didn’t add to the grey hairs through stress, I have been gallery looking and have seen lots of great stuff…

Crocs really do jump out of water; they can get ¾ if their body length up in the air, and only two months before we were there, a large croc took an 8-year-old aboriginal girl from the edge of the riverbank when she went to collect water. They must be treated with respect and remember that we are in their Territory always…..Pam…you asked so here goes…one hot afternoon we girls were lying around the resort on banana lounges, nibbles and drinkies on hand, men were doing men things (fishing) when I asked girlfriends to roll on ground like they were being attached by croc’s so I could take a few shots of them. Photos of friends (not shot of croc’s). Talk about laugh, I am on hands and knees, camera in hand, friends are roll around trying to scream but all they could manage is giggles and more giggles….lots of strange looks from rest of people in resort….Mad Aussies Thanks for comments on my LO’s, I am having fun doing them.

Oh, did I tell you all the story about the night we went croc spotting up the river, torches in hand, and while we were cooking our BBQ on the river bank (in the dark) we were visited by a very large croc….

To be continued….gotta go to work cheers

GONNA BE A BEAR
In this life I’m a woman. In my next life , I’d like to come back as a bear.
When you’re a bear, you get to hibernate. You do nothing but sleep for 6 months.
I could deal with that.
Before you hibernate, you’re supposed to eat yourself stupid.
I could deal with that too.
When you are a girl bear, you birth your children (who are the size of walnuts) while you’re sleeping and wake to partially grown, cute, cuddly cubs!
I could definitely deal with that.
If you are a mama bear, everyone knows you mean business. You swat anyone who bothers your cubs. If your cubs get out of line, you swat them too.
I could deal with that .
If you’re a bear, your mate EXPECTS you to wake up growling. He EXPECTS that you will have hairy legs and excess body fat.

Yup!!! Gonna be a bear!

I just assumed you would be trying out for DET again Pam because you are so good at this and must have come so close last time. Sorry to freak you out! Have a good weekend!
Kay, that bear verse is SO funny, would this be the bear you mentioned in one of your earlier posts : "So if you get strange rambling posts from me here or I am AWOL for a while ..just bear with me":D So what's happening, are you buying a new house? travelling? Maybe DSP knows a thing or two and have given you extra post width to accommodate those "strange rambling" posts that are coming our way. You can cope with all this upheaval and OOCZ (out of comfort zone) situations, just tell yourself you are an RGCer!!!

Chris, thanks for you extra information, I will add it to the list. Hope little Madison is going along OK. It is almost Monday, hang in there, soon you can see her again:) I remember what it is like when the first grandchild arrives. Our oldest is thirteen now! (I am far too young to be a grandmother of a thirteen year old:D)

Lizzanne, sure we can mentor you, but in what exactly? we have a croc hunter, a Saint, a few line dancers, a chocolate expert, a fabric paint producer, body snatchers, a hider of strippers, a rock n roller, a conpetition tennis player, some very funny people (I mean that in the nicest possible way:D), lots of other things, now what exactly do you want to be mentored in?? Are you sure you want to be mentored by us???

Must go, be back later.

Just had a look at the overall scores for the NKOTB - how demoralising, I am right down the botton somewhere, I suppose it didnt help that I forgot to transfer my week 3 entry to the judging gallery, maybe someone can mentor me in the art of being a good scrapper, which it looks like I am not. Ok now that I got that off my chest and will try and stop feeling sorry for myself I found this cute little poem about what it is to be a scrapper, maybe I should take note!
A scrapbooker
is a treasure seeker,
a rainbow chaser,
a smile maker,
a memory keeper.

She preservers a moment
in time and saves a dream
from being forgotten.

She clothes a piece
of yesterday in the caring hands
of today and makes a legacy
of love for tomorrow.

A scrapbooker
is a treasure seeker,
a rainbow chaser,
a smile maker,
a memory keeper.

Shes one who sees
that knowing our roots
gives us wings...
and understanding our past
gives us hope to celebrate
our future.

Well .....I think it takes me more and more time to catch up with you ladies everytime i poke my nose in here!!....but I love everything about it.
In my next life I want to be a man bear.....yep....a man bear. You see ....they know everything, have an answer to everything, they just know it all. Therefore I think once we've been a woman in one life and have to take the abuse of living with someone who "knows it all"...well ...i just wanna be a man bear. I want to be able to scratch my hairy chest and puff it out and say what I wanna when I wanna and all the stuff that goes with it. yep...just once i wanna know it all!....lol.
ok ...now that i've got THAT off my chest.....INEKE!!...we RGCer's are all at the top and winners!! But your layouts were great in NKOTB just a point or two different than someone elses. I am personally glad it is over. I still have to get my stuff done by tonight fo play by numbers and the IOTW.

Good morning, Good Day and Good evening.. LOL.... I just love that I have to say all three... I saw a LO out yesterday that got me thinking about how really cool it is to have scrapping pals from all over the globe...Made me once again so happy to have met you all and for this awesome thread (TYSM Kay).. We really have great group and Deb you are so "right on " about the talented gals with in these confines as well as DSP as a whole... I have many LO's from each one of you in my future LO's to lift folder...Sorry to hear you won't be doing DET Pam but can completely understand why. I am always blown away at how much you manage to get done and be involved with having three kids and now knowing you do it all on your own I am even more amazed... Jill how come you are not jumping on the DET train? Or have you given it a try before? Wen I am certain you are going to do very well. I know I am one of your biggest fans already and will really enjoy watching your progress throught the next few weeks.. How many is it exactly???? Lizanne DET stand for Digital Elite Team. Every 6 months DSP picks a new group of gals to represent DSP. DET is the challenge they hold to find their new talent team. Not everyone who participates has visions of being a part of the new team, some just want to grow as a scrappers. Just like in NKOTB you get lots of helpful ideas and encouragement. Ineke I agree 100% with Kay. You should be very proud of yourself as you did a wonderful job with your NKOTB LO's. So you didn't walk away top of the heap. You walked away with a couple of great LO's, learned to use kits that you probably would not have bought on your own. I don't know about you but that alone really made NKOTB totally worth every drop of sweat I produced. It opened my eyes to what I could accomplish if I stepped outside of my self made box. I really wish more gals would look at NKOTB as more of a growing experience and less of a competition. Jeez when I did NKOTB some of the gals got so huffy about not winning. They gave poor Stacey all kinds of grief over it and some even left DSP... I have heard this same thing happens with DET...Very silly and child like if you ask me..Kay can't wait to hear all about your future and I am sure exciting plans... Retirement always seems like such a great dream until it becomes a reality... LOL.... Think just like most things in life it's just a matter of adjusting. A pretty big and scary one though :D. Deep breaths in, Deep breaths out ( careful not to spill the Pink Gin and Tonic).. LOL.. Ok all, my biggest DSH being sent all over the globe to you each... Peace Out  .

Saw this recently. Thought the RGCers would enjoy. Warning: Leaking Could Occur . . . The Price of Children

The government recently calculated the cost of raising a child from birth to 18 and came up with $160,140 for a middle income family. Talk about sticker shock! That doesn't even touch college tuition. But $160,140 isn't so bad if you break it down. It translates into: $8,896.66 a year or $741.38 a month or $171.08 a week. That's a mere $24.24 a day! Just over a dollar an hour.

Still, you might think the best financial advice is don't have children if you want to be "rich." Actually, it is just the opposite. What do you get for your $160,140? * Naming rights. First, middle, and last! * Glimpses of God every day. * Giggles under the covers every night. * More love than your heart can hold. * Butterfly kisses and Velcro hugs. * Endless wonder over rocks, ants, clouds, and warm cookies. * A hand to hold, usually covered with jelly or chocolate. * A partner for blowing bubbles, flying kites. * Someone to laugh yourself silly with, no matter what the boss said or how your stocks performed that day.

For $160,140, you never have to grow up. You get to: * finger-paint, * carve pumpkins, * play hide-and-seek, * catch lightning bugs, and * never stop believing in Santa Claus.

You have an excuse to: * keep reading the Adventures of Piglet and Pooh, * watching Saturday morning cartoons, * going to Disney movies, and * wishing on stars. * You get to frame rainbows, hearts, and flowers under refrigerator magnets and collect spray painted noodle wreaths for Christmas, hand prints set in clay or Mother's Day, and cards with backward letters for Father's Day.

For $160,140, there is no greater bang for your buck. You get to be a hero just for: * retrieving a Frisbee off the garage roof, * taking the training wheels off a bike, * removing a splinter, * filling a wading pool, * coaxing a wad of gum out of bangs, and coaching a baseball team that never wins but always gets treated to ice cream regardless.

You get a front row seat to history to witness the: * first step, * first word, * first bra, * first date, and * first time behind the wheel.

You get to be immortal. You get another branch added to your family tree, and if you're lucky, a long list of limbs in your obituary called grandchildren and great grandchildren. You get an education in psychology, nursing, criminal justice, communications, and human sexuality that no college can match.

In the eyes of a child, you rank right up there under God. You have all the power to heal a boo-boo, scare away the monsters under the bed, patch a broken heart, police a slumber party, ground them forever, and love them without limits, So . . one day they will, like you, love without counting the cost. That is quite a deal for the price!!!!!!!

Love and enjoy your children and grandchildren!

Hi all, I don't want to spoil your day but check out this post in the forums http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16981 about internet saftey. It certainly freaked me out, I am so comfortable hereI had forgotten how cautious I was a year ago when I joined (yes, I think today is my anniversary:D) Now if anyone wants to edit anything OUT of their Who's who information, just let me know, or I could delete the whole post. (Complete turnaround having for the last few weeks been asking you to put something IN:D) It is Post 574 Page37. I have taken my town off my avatar and off my details and I am going to remove locations from my layouts.

Ineke, don't stress about the NKOTB. It is a contest to LEARN rather than to compete. I thought your last layout was gorgeous, and< if you had remembered to send it for judging, I am sure it would have done veryw ell. Anyway, we all think you are a champ:) Good on all of you RGCNKOTBers (wow, thats a long one) for having a go. Love your scrapbookers poem Ineke, there are a few quotes in there that I have saved for future use. thanks for sharing. I love everyone"s Man Bear thoughts:D. You all give me SUCH a lot of chuckles to start off the day.
Thanks to all who have commented on my layouts recently (Kim your typing fingers must be worn down to the bone:D) Thank you so much. No DET for me, I would probably have a heart attack or something from the deadlines and stress:) Go you good thing Wen, we will be sending big cheers your way and we will all follow your progress with interest and support.
Now, I am SO chuffed!! Our gorgeous Deb has scraplifted me! Imagine anyone liking my stuff enough to scraplift it!!! Go check it out http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=126153&cat=500&ppuser=41276 Thank you for the compliment Deb! and here is an absolutely gorgeous one she scraplifted from Donut http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=125672 You are getting SO good at this Deb.
Wonder how Carma is getting along. HOpe she is having a great time, wonderful strong brave lady that she is!
DSP is making changes at the moment. Wonder if they'll change US?? I mean move us (no one can change us, we are all perfect the way we are:D)
Hope to find time to visit the galleries today, off to line dancing this afternoon (fourth time in the last week:D) Have a great day.

Jill -- Thanks for getting us to that thread re internet safety. Made me redo my profile and signature also. We are all way too comfortable here thinking it's private. Good reminder that it simply is not.

Wow Jill, thanks for linking us to that thread, it is so true! I used to be so careful I didnt even let my own first name slip out, but over time as I feel I am amongst friends it is all too easy to relax more than we should. I still change names, dates, locations and never post school names or names of places near us,any photos of places nearby are usually not posted or names changed, but even so it is scary what some sad person could find out if they spent all day searching our galleries!
Deb, that Price of Children is wonderful! Thanks for reminding me of all the benfits I get .... just as I was reading it my daughter came in asking for money for today..she got it!!! LOL!!!
Dashing off once again theres never enough hours in the day is there?!
Hugs to all!!

RGCers: Because of issues of internet security, raised in forums at the link in my last post, I have made an "executive" decision and deleted the who's who list. I hope everyone agrees with the decision. I have saved a copy and will email it to anyone who wants it but thought it was best to take it out of the forums. Those of you who sent their extra information through the forums will need to decide whether to leave it there or remove it. It was a good idea while it lasted but you can't be too careful these days, sad but true.

Thanks Jill for the very timely warning about internet security. I have never really given it much thought and now realise that was very silly of me. Have been back through forums and deleted one or two. You made the correct "executive decision", and we must all be a bit more careful in the future.

Thanks for the security warning, I do try to be careful and not give specific info in my posts but will be extra vigilant in my journaling. My youngest daughter won't let me post front view photos of my Granddaughter so I think about security more because of that. Thanks Yvspeck for your kind comment about my gallery. Here's wishing everyone a lovely week and happy scrapping. I did delete my extra info, thanks Evergreen.

I too was much more careful about it all in the beginning but have let my guard way down over the past few months.. Thanks Jill for being such a caring RGCer, watching out for us all and remind us of the sad but true realities of life:( :( :( .. Off to look through my LO's and posts...

It is a worry to think that its not just us ladies reading these threads, you do feel like you are just amongst a circle of friends here, strange world out there!
I have deleted my personal details also. Thanks for your kind comments about New Kids Kay and Pam, I was just sulking, it didnt really upset me a great deal, some of the work produced by the winners was very good. My story and I am sticking by it is that my last entry - which I forgot to post to the judging gallery was definitely the winner!! he he, if you cant laugh at yourself who can you laugh at !!
I went to a linedancing Masquerade Ball with a difference last week, the guys wore the sparkles if you know what I mean, had a wonderful time and did a layout http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=126590&cat=500&ppuser=44859

Good-evening all. I'm just popping in for a second. Donut -- your daughter's pictures are very good! She must be studying photography or at least has the gift for grabbing a nice pix!
I PMd Kay over the weekend a/c I scraplifted her :); and I asked the same thing about that grandbaby. She said that Emily hadn't arrived -- was due this coming weekend if I have the dates right??
Hey, how are the other new grandbabies doing? Updates?
I'm working my way through all of your galleries to scraplift -- that's my new time-saving ploy. LOTS of fun so far -- I'm working on two right now (my attention span is shrinking as I'm aging so I have to shift between different projects; what's with that!?!?!). So be ready to get a note from me soon if you haven't already!!!
Ineke -- I agree -- there would have been a NKOTB recount if you would have submitted. Liz -- I'm fine with you having the updated granny list. Isn't it just too bad we have to be so guarded (or should have been all along)? Just sad. OK I'm off to finish one lo! TTFN -- Deb

Palm Springs is a travelers hot spot.. Too hot during our summer months but perfect during your summer months. Jeez when I have a bad day at the office (home) I might get a backrub.... With lots of begging and pleading.... You go girl! Now Pam your Starletbabe is one hot little photographer.... Loved looking through her fun photos..... What a beauty she is as well... She will undoubtly make beautiful :D grandbabies:D for you someday..Not any time soon.. But you know how time flies.. Before you know it....I can see she and E have the same great sense of humor... Deb you have caught on to my LO secret... Lift, Lift, Lift.... I love lifting... I always start off with nothing of my own in mind but my LO always end up taking on a life of there own. Oh well done, grammy Kay. congratulations, wonderful, how exciting. Off to check little Emily out. I will be back!!!!!!

I'm back. Oh Kay, no wonder you are so excited, she is so adorable, I am leaking tears of joy for you and I want to cuddle her!! No need to wish you a good day today, I can tell it will be a great one!!!

No doubt about you, Daggie, when you get stressed and depressed you certainly know how to set yourself straight again:D !!!! You can visit me anytime, no need to do it on your round the world trip:D Good thing the world is round since you have bought a one-way ticket, we Aussies would have hated to lose you to the other side of the world:D:D

Isn't it funny how particular sayings develop in different parts of the world? It would not have occurred to me that "sticky beak" was not known in other parts of the world!

I'm in a scrapbooking slump this week, I have worked and worked trying to get a page in for Fandango and it just won't fandanGO!!! Very frustrating. I think the deadline might have passed by now:(. I am far too fiddly I think and have to tweak this and tweak that, then still not happy and start over again or start another one!) The thing is, I don't want to send in a layout just to suit the criteria for a particular challenge, I want it to be something that I really like and would want to print out for my album! I am sooooooooo sssssssssslllllllllllllllllllllloooooooooooooowwww wwwwwwwww!!!!!!!

Lizzanne asked for the who's who list to be sent to her, does anyone object to me sending that information on to her or anyone else who is a current active member of this thread and wants a copy???

I will try to get to the galleries today, grrrrr Fandango, been fiddling with that for days, keeping me out of the galleries!!

Congratulations Kay, your new baby is a real peach! Try not to spoil her any more than you have to. Will be hard, I know. I had a play afternoon with my little one today, she is 20mos old. I walked in and she was playing with her barn and her little animals and people. She grinned really big and said " sit down, Grandma" - her new command when she wants you to get on the floor and play with her. She is learning so fast we are amazed. She is like a little sponge and a parrot, we have to be careful what we say as she repeats everything she hears. She sings this song about 3 little monkeys jumping on the bed - so cute I'm going to try to get it on a memory button for my scrapbook. Also congrats to Daggy, what a way to lift one's spirits. I can't get my DH to buy a big screen TV and here you are going around the world. Too cool!!! If I could go anywhere in the world, I'd pick New Zealand. I could be wrong but it seems like Ireland to me. Small enough to see a lot of the country and it appears to have everything - coast, mountains and the photos look so terrific. Of course it could just be that I would like to find a left over Hobbit or better yet and Elf. Catch you Grannies later.

:) Oh Kay, had a sticky beak at your LO of Little Miss Princess Emily, and she is beautiful.:) :) Bet you just want to kiss away that scratch. I envy you all your cuddles and kiss’s. Hope all is well. Still pouring over atlas, my geography is very schoolgirlish, and I is going to get a crash course I see. I was very tempted to go visit Kay, but I believe she mentioned monkeys and lions and tigers and stuff and I not as brave as I pretend to be. At the moment Canada, Alaska and quick pop in for tea with Kim is looking good. We both have long service of twenty years up next year so we are taking 3 months of work to tour around. :p Think I may have to invest in more memory cards!!!!!! Any one hear from Carma, probably still rolling around on the floor with all those Grandkiddies of hers.

Congratulations Kay .. little Emily Rose is just gorgeous, how I would love a little granddaughter like that .. oh well maybe one day you never know. Daggie now I am green as my skirt with envy because you are going on this wonderful trip, it sounds too good to be true!! and look at all the invitations you have already received to visit fellow RGcers. The weather here in Melbourne has been very nice the last 2 days and it has given me inspiration to take photos of my garden and its blooms and do layouts with them. I am starting to get a little short of things to scrap seeing I dont have darling grandchildren to scrap only grown boys and a husband who doesnt want to pose, so I will have to set my sights further and start looking at nature for inspiration.

I thought everyone might enjoy this: (even though most of you are younger than me)

I thought you would want to know about this e-mail virus. Even the most advanced programs from Norton or McAfee cannot take care of this one...

It appears to affect those who were born prior to 1945.

Symptoms:

1. Causes you to send the same e-mail twice. done that!
2. Causes you to send a blank e-mail that too!

3. Causes you to send e-mail to the wrong person. yep!
4. Causes you to send it back to the person who sent it to you. who me?
5. Causes you to forget to attach the attachment. well darn!
6. Causes you to hit "SEND" before you've finished. Oh no- not again!

7. Causes you to hit "DELETE" instead of "SEND." and I just hate that!
8. Causes you to hit "SEND" when you should "DELETE." Oh No!

IT IS CALLED THE "C-NILE VIRUS!

RoadMap4Us
08-31-2006, 08:47 PM
Loved that, Freda. And I guarantee -- I've had all of those symptoms and I was born after '45. That is apparently proving that this virus is very contagious and we should be warning all the grammies everywhere, regardless of age! Now have we heard if there is a cure?!?!? If so, I need it -- LOL (sorry -- I was smelling new carpet smell all day at work so am feeling the impact of that C-Nile virus more vividly just now!)
Kay -- YEAH! Congrats.
Still waiting on updates on all the other new grammies. Hope everyone is doing well.
Jill -- it IS so funny how we all talk around the world. Daggie & Kay have mentioned 'lippie' a couple different times in their posts and I have to stop and translate that into lipstick (right??). When we use 'lippie' here in US (at least I think this is the same here?), it usually means that we're scolding a youngster for being disrespectful or sassy ('now don't get lippie with me, young lady!'). Haven't had to do that for awhile myself since my own DD is grown & with kids of her own (and finally I have once again become 'wise' in her eyes-- isn't that interesting how that happens!!).
Later, All. Off to scraplift!

AHh Kay, what a beautiful bubbie..... you are one lucky grammie.... the layout is fantastic. You will cetainly have lots on your plate this month,
moving , packing, thats the hard bit cause you want to have a clean up as you go but you can never decide if you want to ditch things or not. ( I'm a terrible pack rat (horder) too) good luck finding a new place. Dont stress things always fall into place somehow, its a cosmic thing..
Ineke how could you feel down, you did a great job on NKOTB.
Daggie do you need a suitcase carrier? or maybe a tour guide I can do both!! what a wonderful way to banish the blues. Just imagine the number of photos you will bring back from that trip!!!! You can pop in for lunch anytime.

This thread never fails to amuse me, challenge me, give me good vibes all over. Love the bear poem & the cost of Kids, Priceless!!
My lord I hadnt really thought about the security issues lately, was very careful at the beginning but its so easy to be lulled into a sense of safety.
Will have to watch that again. I totally agree with the exec decision you made evergreen (reverting back to usernames).
Now I'm really nervous , I thought I would have some other RGC's doing the det with me!! Dont know if I can live up to all that hype. I certainly wont be getting bent out of shape if I dont make it past the 1st round, just taking it as a learning experience. But it does feel good that I have some wonderful support from the best rocking granny club in cyberspace.
Havnt had a chance to check out any galleries for awhile so busy at work and exhausted when I got home.
Well off to download the DET kit wonder what it will be.....
cheers to all.

Good Morning Ladies!
Ohhh..it is a beautiful day out there today ...it is cool and crisp and I am loving it. I don't think I like any weather better than it will be today. Holiday weekend and what a great start.
I feel like I can't get here to read up enough because when I do I feel I miss so much. You are all very addicting!
Where are you going Kay? (other than to visit sweet Emily).
And.....who's meeting for lunch?? I'm In!! Where we going? Wouldn't that be a hoot!! Got this visual now with us all meeting at the same time. Think of the chatter and think of the accents of the chatter!! OMG....would you wanna even sit by us?
Lippie...hmmmm.....I just used that phrase yesterday. Took all the grandkids to the park and the middle one got lippie. Exactly what I said to her......'you getting lippie with me young lady?"....works better on them than it did my own daughter....lol.
Ineke....i've got this picture of my dd and dgd i'm having a hard time with that you can scrap for me! I was trying to work it into IOTW because it is the perfect kit (s0 I thought) but i'm just not feeling it. I'll loan it out to you if you let me claim it as mine in my own private scrapbook!!!.....lol. just kidding ..i'd give you credit!
I'm at a very dark block with the scrapping. I look for kits...I think i'll buy ...but I don't and I go back and look for the perfect one, but still don't come up with anything. I try to lift and make it into my own but can't manage it.....hmmm.
Freda.....I can add to the side effects of that virus I bet...lol. I bet we all could!
Hope your all having a great begining to a great weekend.
hugs all!...ttfn.

Good morning to all you grans. Just catching up on my morning reading while I have some time. Congrats to Whisper Pink on being a new gran. It is the most wonderful thing ever. Lizzanne I just may be a gran first. My daughter had her ultrasound and they tell her she is further along than she thought. I am so excited and it is such a joy for me even though it will be my 8th. I bought her a new camera for her with of course an ulterior motive. I get to scrap the pics she takes. WORKS FOR ME. She does lovely paper scrapping and has Amy`a albums up do date. I think she is going to find scrapping a little more difficult once she has two but I will be here to help so she can fit some time in. Carma I just want to say that I think you are such a dear brave person. When you read someone elses stories you always stop and think how blessed you are because there is always someone with more problems. Makes me count my blessings each day. Take care. Kay how wonderful for you and the other new grans. The gallery will be smoking with new baby layouts. HOW FUN. Reading this thread makes each day for me a new fun and blessed day. So take care all of you dear grans and I certainly feel the love when I read all of these great posts. Hugs to you all. Ang

Don't forget we are all waiting to see Miss Emily in her bonus GoGo's hand done smocked dress. Sure don't envy your next few weeks though. Moving is such a pain and knowing it's only temporary would make it even less appealing. No DSL when you move? How come? And you still have not filled us in on what happens after the first of the year. Are you going to be hopping on Dag's world trip?
WEN!!!!!!!!!!!!What an Awesome start you are off to... I can't remember seeings any DET beginnings I was as impressed with... I was absloutely wowed. You have such a fresh style. >Here is another that I thought everyone would enjoy.
Subject: Life Explained
>
>
> When God created the dog, He said: "Sit all day by the door of your house
and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. For this, I will give you a
life span of twenty years."
>
> The dog said: "That's a long time to be barking. How about only ten years
and I'll give you back the other ten?"
>
> So God agreed.
>
> Next, God created the monkey and said: "Entertain people, do tricks, and
make them laugh. For this, I'll give you a twenty-year life span."
>
> The monkey said: "Monkey tricks for twenty years? That's a pretty long
time to perform. How about I give you back ten like the Dog did?"
>
> And God agreed.
>
> God then created the cow and said: "You must go into the field with the
farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to
support the farmer's family. For this, I will give you a life span of sixty
years."
>
> The cow said: "That's kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty
years. How about twenty and I'll give back the other forty?"
>
>
> And God agreed again.
>
> Finally, God created man and said: "Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your
life. For this, I'll give you twenty years." But man said: "Only twenty
years? Could you possibly give me my twenty, the forty the cow gave back,
the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the dog gave back; that makes
eighty, okay?"
>
> "Okay," said God, "You asked for it."
>
> So that is why the first twenty years we eat, sleep, play and enjoy
ourselves. For the next forty years we slave in the sun to support our
family. For the next ten years we do monkey tricks to entertain the
grandchildren. And for the last ten years we sit on the front porch and bark
at everyone.

Did you know RGCers that we have another DET contestant in our midst. I didnt until I found her lovely layout in the DET gallery. Our proud new Grammie, Whisper Pink's layout is here http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=127666

Oops, I must have taken Freda's poem to heart:D I pressed submit before I had finished. I guess you have all seen Wen's beautiful DET entry by now, if not here is the link http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=127464&cat=3150

Good luck to both of our RGCers in this contest. I am SO glad I didn't enter, the standard is WAY out of my reach and I am feeling quite up tight for everyone just being a looker onner:D

Does anyone mind if I send our who's who information on to those of our current RGCers who want it?? I've been through my gallery and blurred out anything that might identify our family, but I've left all the beautiful faces untouched.

Congratulations to both Wen and Whisper on there first entries to the DET contest. First round nervous  should now be over and you can both now sit back and relax, the rest will be plane sailing from here.:D :D :D Ha Ha..Goodness me, the work that has been submitted so far is outstanding and I would hate to be a judge. One could lose friends very quickly that way. Gonna go buy me a lotto ticket and call it Grammie, if it comes up, I will shout us all a trip to that lovely warm tropical island in the Pacific (you know the one, they serve the best pink gins there!) :p:p Oh, I can just see us now, lying back in your lounges, bikinis on, spray on tans on,talking ten to a dozen. Should we invite the grandkiddies? Wonder how many we have between us? Me, one.

The DET gallery is awesome stuff. Go, Wen & Whisper. We are cheering for you.
OK on the grandkid count: Daggie:1 + RoadMap(me):2 = 3 so far. Keep the string going?
Jill -- I'm fine with your plan. Along a similar angle for the future: Maybe we should just shout out for a 'roll-call' ever so often & re-introduce ourselves so that anyone newly watching this thread might feel comfy jumping in. I can't believe I only jumped in a month ago and already feel so at home! The reason it felt that way was because of the warm intro that happened -- partly because of that list (thank you, Jill!!!) and partly because the grammies did a re-introduction. Just a thought!
OK off to watch my favorite college team on TV -- GO, Fight, WIN!!! ( I hope!!)
p.s. bikinis -- NO WAY!!!

lizzanne just directed me over here and all I know is that is for Grandmas or Grannie-wannabes. So what does RGC stand for?

After a good 20 years of waiting I finally have 2 granddaughters, 3 years and 4 months. I have 3 adult children (can it BE that the oldest will be 40 this month?), 2 step-children, and 1 niece and 1 nephew all well into their 30s...and from all 7 there are only these 2 babies with no more likely. Not sure if we did something right or something wrong. My cousin, just 2 months younger than I has 3 GREAT-grand children already and I lost count of his grandchildren.

As for the DET...it IS awesome, isn't it? I am in there cheering on the gals who have the courage to go for it. I don't do contests well. I am afraid when I was eliminated I would be so hurt that I would slink out of DSP, tail between my legs as I have seen others do. I like it here and would moss it too much.

I so wanted to catch up on what you all have been talking about, but. LADIES! 43 pages? I got as far as page 10, and went back a few pages from here and that has taken all afternoon. I loved the poems, thoughts and giggles so far.
Here is my youngest daughter and her family, my Grands.

They bought the house in which I raised my brood of 3 and I bought another, ONE floor house only 10 blocks away (4 as the crow flies). That means I get to see the grand-girls almost every day.

Welcome Laura Lou, hope you enjoy this thread of grannies, wannabe's and apprentices! Yes, it is amazing isnt it? 43 pages and 639 posts. All starting from Kay's lovely inspirational, tear jerking poem way back in March! RGC stands for Reprobate Grannies Club meaning that we are a bit naughty (but nice), or Rockin" Grannies Club which we definitely are! There are some very funny people (meant in the nicest possible way of course) here and everyday there is something to chuckle about. We support each other through times of joy, happiness, delight, strife, sadness and stress. We visit each other's galleries regularly and make comment, we encourage our entrants in contests such as NKOTB and DET. So hop right along in here and have fun. Share your joys and sorrows, link us to your favourite or latest layouts or anyone elses' that you particularly like. There is a warning though: You must have tissues handy for mopping up leaks (we Grannies have a tendency to leak from various places), don't read while drinking coffee or eating chocolate (unless you have a dog to call to lick the screen clean again:)) We have just had a security scare via this link: http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16981
and have deleted our Who's Who list that had some specific details in it. Deb's suggestion is good though, lets tell each new member just a little about us when they join in.
I am Jill, living in Australia, married over forty years, mother of three, grandmother of eight including two sets of twins. I love reading, line dancing, playing with the grandkids and my current obsession digi scrapping.

Re bikinis: What a scary mental picture that conjures up, speaking for myself ofcourse! Laura, you should find the posts by some of our lovely RGCers regarding fitting into swim suits and body snatchers. Very very funny!

Have a great day everyone. It is Father's Day here in Aus. so I must go and make hubby a cupof coffee.

welcome laura ...glad you found us. i think you will like it here. say what you need to say, share what you need to share and just go with the flo.
Deb....i'm with you ...waiting to hear what 10 to a dozen means. i'm thinking it might mean a bunch of RGCer's just hanging out and yackin at each other.
Although ...we show up in bikini's and well be laughing so hard we'll never get in a word. rolling eyes at thought. geez...still trying to get that visual out of my head!....lol.

Not sure about that bikini but I will put on my bathing suit as soon as I mend the knees and elbows of said suit.

I just started "fixing" my stuff here at DSP in respect to my own privacy and that of my family. With 809 laouts in the gallery I have a LOT to inspect.

I told WAY too much in my blogger blog so all 3 are gone. My Old Dear was really uneasy about blogging, but I was sure no one read my blogs but friends. Still...

Welcome Laura.. It's alway so nice to have a new Grammy join in on all the RGC fun. Jill pretty much covered the most important in's and outs of this thread. Huge amounts of absorbents needed for sure and a nicer bunch of ladies you could not find. I am Kim, live in the California deserts, married 32 years to the boy next door. 5 children, 6 grandchildren with 2 more in the ovens. Love duneing, RVing, photography and digi scrapping. Jill I am good with however you would like to keep our newbies informed. Most of my info is pretty general so I have no problem with it being passed along. 2 Grans in DET :D :D :D All right .... Took a look at Whispers first super LO... We Grans a well represent for sure! It's going to be fun cheering them on.
Dag you are such hoot... BIKINIS indeeded    . Are you trying get us all kicked off the island for indecent exposure before we even get that "Belly Dancer" drink in us... I gotta know what's in that one....Man I think I'll buy 2 tickets this week... Peace out all:cool:

809 LOs from our new granny-scrapper -- wow, Laura, you're an immediate inspiration to this SSSLLLOOOWWW scrapper! Welcome! I live in the Midwest US and have been married for 30 years. We have a daughter who is grown and married; and they've blessed us with 2 adorable grandkids which qualifies me for this Grammy's Club!! This group of folks on this thread are the best!! I've only been hanging around a short while here but feel right at home. I'm going to keep hanging around here because Daggie is going to take us all to a tropical location soon as you know. I sure hope we can get Internet connection there so that we don't lose any time uploading our LOs!!!

Thanks for all the kind words, fellow grans. I just spent the evening purging my gallery so you won't find the albums anymore. There was just too much information in them and I am determined to be a "safe" member here. I left one album that isn't quite finished and that I know has no sensitive information. I just received an email from PayPal that someone tried to access my account on August 18. I am a little skeptical about this email and wondering how I find out if it is legit.

Aug 18, 2006: We have reason to believe that your account was accessed by a third party. Because protecting the security of your account is our primary concern, we have limited access to sensitive PayPal account features. We understand that this may be an inconvenience but please understand that this temporary limitation is for your protection.
Completing all of the checklist items will automatically restore your account access.

I have been using the account with no limitations that I can see. Since DSP is the only place I use PayPal I am wondering about security, now. Am I being scammed? If I had clicked on that link and answered their questions would I have become a victum? I have always felt so safe online, but now, I just don't know.

I agree with you, Laura Lou. That doesn't look right. Maybe go onto PayPal site itself and use their 'contact us' feature to send them a note and ask about it? I just now went out to check my email to see if I had rec'd anything similar since I primarily use PayPal for DSP also. Nothing. I wouldn't answer that email that you received either -- I think you are doing the right thing to ignore it.
Kinda' scary but it sounds like we are all raising our awareness again -- and that's not a bad thing to do ever so often.
Off 'til tomorrow -- Later! Deb

Wen loved your DET entry, what a great photo to use with that layout, you are a very talented lady!
Daggie please please take me when you win, I would be happy to carry your bags for you, the thought of all of us in bikinies does send a shiver down the spine though, too much flesh is not a good thing, especially at our age.
I am definitely going to get into this scraplifting as well, after looking at the entries into DET I was blown away by all the talent out there, I think you could just keep learning indefinitely .
Fathers day here and cooked DH pancakes for breakfast, now he has a case of massive indigestion he says, so much for my pancakes.... I have a cute poem for you ladies which suits me to a T

MY PHILOSOPHY OF HOUSECLEANING!
don't do windows because ...
I love birds and don't want one to run into a clean window and get hurt.
don't wax floors because ...
I am terrified a guest will slip and get hurt
then I'll feel terrible ( plus they may sue me.)
I don't mind the dust bunnies because ...
They are very good company,
I have named most of them, and they agree with everything I say.
I don't disturb cobwebs because ...
I want every creature
to have a home of their own.
I don't Spring Clean because ...
I love all the seasons and don't want the others
to get jealous
I don't pull weeds in the garden because ..
I don't want to get in God's way,
HE is an excellent designer!
I don't put things away because ...
My husband will never be able to find them again.
I don't do gourmet mealswhen I entertain because ...
I don't want my guests
to stress out over what to make when they invite me over for dinner.
I don't iron because .
I choose to believe them when they say "Permanent Press".
I don't stress much on anything because .
"A Type" personalities die young
and I want to stick around
and become a wrinkled up crusty ol' Grannie!!!!!!

I'm pretty sure that is a scam Laura. I have received similar emails and I don't have PayPal. They are trying to get you to reply and give them more information! I also get these types of messages about bank accounts that I don't have. I wouldn't ever reply to these kinds of emails. If you think you need to check just call. If there was really a problem I suspect PayPal would have some other way to contact you...not this kind of email.

Love that poem Ineke!

I just received an email from PayPal that someone tried to access my account on August 18. I am a little skeptical about this email and wondering how I find out if it is legit.

Well, since I'm the one who started the "security scare" thread and since I'm a grandmother and since my personality is definitely strange/irreverent enough to fit in well on this thread.......... :D

Laura, I'm quite sure that email is fake. Companies like PayPal never, ever ask for personal info via email!! Those stinkin' scammers make these things look so real! The trick is never to click on a link in an email like this. If you ever think an email might be legitimate (although I'm sure this one isn't), then go to the website under your own power to check on your account. These emails usually have a link to a website that looks legitimate but is only there to get private information.

Now for the grandmother part.... When my first grandchild was born, a student's mom told me about a beautiful saying in Farsi. "Children are like the almond. Your own children are the tough outer husk, and your grandchildren are the sweet meat on the inside." Love that! :p

Funny thread.......

809, did I read right or what, even if you did one a day that is nearly 3 years worth, welcome super scrapper, you are most welcome here because when I run out of ideas:mad: I will just pinch all yours:D , keep me going for ever.:D Stumbled across Kays poems way back in April, and just couldn’t resist them either http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=107052&cat=500&ppuser=27233 then I had to have a sticky beak at this thread and have been hocked ever since.:):) I am married to a lovely Hubby (have to say that because he is taking me around the world next year) but if he plays up I may take Ineke instead. Two boys all grow up, one married with one 14-month-old boy, but they live 3 thousand klms away from us. (Tissues please) I am crazy about line dancing, and my book club which I have been running for 12 years now, we met once a month for tea and drinkies, (12 of us) and we are suppose to discuss our current book, but I am ashamed to say that we talk ten to dozen about everything else but. (Yack our heads off) Love your poem Ineke and thanks for reminding me about Fathers Day, …..back again just had to pour cold beer for hubby. I would ring my father (81) and wish him a happy Fathers Day but he is travelling some were in Canada with Mum (75). Last time I heard from them a big grizzle:confused: was chasing them. Ineke....another cut and past and send along....cute poem!
daggie....how come Ineke gets to go??....i promise to carry your bags too!!
maybe you need both of us (psssssst...Ineke can fit in one of them standing trunks....) .
here's one for the tissue box.

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back.
The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation.
Every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window.
The man in the other bed began to live for those one hour periods where
his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and colour of the world outside. The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every colour and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance.
As the man by the window described all this in exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque
scene.
One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by.
Although the other man couldn't hear the band - he could see it. In his mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words.
Days and weeks passed. One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window,
who had died peacefully in his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away.
As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window.. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone.
Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the real world outside.
He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed. It faced a blank wall.
The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window
The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall.
She said, "Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you.

Epilogue:

There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own
situations.
Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is doubled.
If you want to feel rich, just count all the things you have that money
can't buy. "Today is a gift, that's why it is called the present."

Just out here yesterday late evening and look what happens in just 12 hours -- another whole page of 'chat'!! I can't imagine what Carma & Kay and some of the others are going to do to catch up!
Omiof5 -- welcome and BIG thank you for starting that security thread warning. Very good info. Glad you have joined us.
Aussie ladies -- So it's Father's Day there, huh? I assume, other than the date, the rest of the tradition is similar? Some presents (lots of ties!) and Dad's favorite meal and let him put his feet up for the day? I love hearing about the differences.
And, speaking of differences, once again, Daggie has mentioned talking 10 to dozen. Translation????
That DET contest is generating AWESOME los. Among which is our very own Wen and Whisper!!! Lots of things to scraplift which is the only thing I've been doing now for my last few LOs -- and I've seen a HUGE difference in how long I've taken and the quality. But I don't even see how it is possible to get to 800+ layouts. What is the secret to that, LL??
Off to rubber-neck through your galleries! TTFN. Deb
p.s. to Daggie -- Just let me know when you need me to get my passport ready. I have to admit right now that I don't drink so that makes me a really good designated driver. Just let me know where and when!! :)

I will let all know in plenty of time for passports, visas, bikini’s etc, for our Pacific Island Retreat, just waiting for a big one.:) Sometimes we have a lotto draw for $14 million or so, and I think that we will need all of that because we are just growing at a great rate of knots. Thanks for the offer to drive Deb but no need; we are going limo all the way.:) …….Fathers Day in Aussie land is no different than else where, socks, jocks and ties, and graciously allow them to attend a sporting game of their choice. No need for cards and fancy wrapping paper, or meals out like Mothers day, its only Dad and we daughters can do no wrong in there eyes. Just get them a cuppa or a cold beer and get the dog off their favourite reclining chair…….. My parents are English and I have picked up lots of their saying’s, lippie is short for lickstick, or :don’t give me any of your lip, child: talking ten to a dozen, is talking all at once, over the top of each other, just what we will do on your retreat. (gotta win millions first)…….Laura, Kays poem can be found here, http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=13201&page=10 just copy and paste away. Hubby due home soon, must go get his slippers and make him a cuppa, gotta keep in his good books for awhile:D :D :D

Daggie, let me know when you hit our shores and I'll get the jug on!! :) Round the world trip....what a lucky girlie!!
I like the sound of the Pacific Island retreat...maybe we ought to all buy lotto this week to increase our chances of the BIG one?!! But Bikinis???.....Yes ok, I'm up for that ... so long as I have my shorts and rash top on over the top!!!
Welcome Omiof5 and Laura!! Great to see more new faces!!
Well its late, I have been up since 4.30am as we had this mad idea to leave early and drive as far as the town where the girls had been staying with a relative, and get there in time to take them to Mac Donalds for Breakfast....(the highlight of a 10 year olds life apparently!!)Well all the best laid plans and all that, we eventually realised we were not going to make it in time, so rang ahead and ordered then collected the breakfasts and took them to the girls....!!LOL!! Then we still had a further 3 hour drive, so I am off to bed now, but not before I peek in at the DET gallery...I have been hanging out to see what kit they got to play with and want to cheer on our very own DET'ers!!!

I love lauraloub`s layout. I may have one of my of my gd in front the computer. It would be great fun to all do a version. I must look through my pics. There may be some scraplifting going on. The poem is wonderful. I have been using pay pal on all the sites I purchase kit from and have never had a problem or an email of any kind. I will now be watching out for this. Thank you for the heads up. There are so many scams out there especially ones that hurt seniors a lot in the pocket book and most are on a fixed income. Being a widow I try to be extra careful. I promise I wont spit the dummy if I dont make it, nothing can make me leave this thread!! Its not about the winning anyway I just wanted to try & improve.
I cant poke that minds eye out !! RGC's in bikinis sipping Belly Dancers ( there a cocktail Kay lots of Rum, or maybe --- on the beach schnapps, vodka & jucies) on a tropical isle. Mind you my stuff is now collecting dust as I am to busy scrapping to pick up duster. Any one heard form Carma yet, she must be missing us by now;)

Still fine tuning our trip but so far we are travelling by plane, train, car, helicopter, cruise ship, bobsled and cable car. Oh ya, I forgot the raft

Good morning everyone, I am working on my computer Swallowed Grandma layout and while searching to see if I could find the original author of the poem, I found this: http://www.happydaycards.com/stories/computerswallowedgranny.html
You can even sing along to the music!!

I tried your link evergreen but they seem to have taken the poem down, but there are several other good ones. Like this one -
WHATEVER HAPPENED
TO
DEAR OLD GRANNY?

In the not too distant past--
I remember very well--
Grandmas tended to their knitting
And their cookies were just swell.

They were always at the ready
When you needed some advice

And their sewing (I can tell you)
Was available--and nice.

NOW: Granny scans the web for artwork
To combine with cool sounds.
And to make her special greetings
She downloads graphics by the pounds.

But Grandma's not deserted you,
She dearly loves you still
She thinks about you daily
And you know she always will!

You haven't been forgotten:
She keeps your photos handy
Right there on her web site
where she thinks they look just dandy

She's right there when you need her
Any time of day or night

And when you cyber send your message
It makes her eyes shine bright!.

She reformats her own hard drive
And speaks in RAMs and bytes

And long, long after sundown
She's still working on her sites

Yes, her world's a very different place,
There is no doubt of that

She even gave up wearing
Her old favorite purple hat!

She's joined the electronic age
And it really seems to suit her,
So don't expect the same old gal,
'cause Grandma's gone "Computer"!

Mine opened straight away and I had to watch it at least 6 times !! I nearly fell off my chair laughing..good on you Jill for finding this link !! I LOVED your version of it ..little matchstick legs in a pink frock disappearing headfirst into the puter ..LOL !!! That poem you found Robbie is wonderful and so very very apt for our thread I think ! Definitely sending that off to my kids to dispel any hopes of hand knitted sweaters for Xmas !!
We have decided to move into a furnished holiday apartment for 4 months until we decide what to do with ourselves ! All very posh and beautiful ..the apartments are gorgeous and ours was decorated by a designer so I shall be living like a yuppie for a very short while before dragged off by my ear to caravanning (that's the one you pull behind the car Kim )and exploring around the country !!
Gotta get out of my PJs and stop laughing at all these lost grannies flailing around in cyberspace !! If anyone bumps into Carma out there tell her wer'e missing her !!! Huge desert size hugs and P*E*A*C*E out !!!!(that last bit is especially for me ..have to tackle the garage /junk room today !!)

Well, oldest dgd is at her first day at a Montessori pre-school today. I know a little about the fine reputation of Montessori schools but I was still shocked by the cost. Of course it runs from 7AM to 5PM but for the cost I would have thought they would provide lunch, at least. Anyone have any experience with Montessori schools?

Oh no !!!! I've gone and spluttered all over my poor sodden key board again !! Jill !! You are so funny and so clever ..how long did it take you to make those adorable granny "broekies" ??? (thats an Afrikaans word for bloomers !!) I love them !! You guys slay me ..I'm supposed to be packing up hearth and home ..not chortling away at your crazy antics !!!
We also have Montessori here LL ..but I don't know first hand anyone who attends ..only that they produce really bright sparks at the end of it and poor parents pay through their noses !! Can't believe they don't provide lunch !!

I just saw LL's adorable little granddaughter in that LO -- and that must be the Mom. BEAUTIFUL 'girls', Laura Lou!
And all these funny LOs and links to disappearing grannies. LOL for sure! I'll have to put that on my weekend list of things to do!
I remember one of the grammies mentioned coming up with a blinkie several pages ago. I just went through the tutorial on that for my PSP application because I wanted to do one for my signature block and it wasn't so bad. Maybe others are already way into blinkies but it was new to me. I think we could do a grammie-blinkie! And then I got to thinking -- hmmm, maybe we should schedule a chat (one of you had already mused on that -- I think it might have been Liz?? Or was it Donut? Or Jill? Oh, it was one of you!) and then 'discuss' this blinkie thing -- or we could just chat about those tropical vacation plans!! Okay back to that blinkie -- really, wouldn't it be fun to have our very own! We could each design just one little 'page' of the blinkie. And then one of us could layer those pages together and run it through the animation wizard. And there it is!! So there are probably a few other logistic steps in between. But I think it would be a 'bonding' moment for us (as if this addictive chat place wasn't bonding enough!!).
Maybe I'm off my rocker? My family would already vote yes on that point!! But it's kinda' fun to keep everyone guessing!
What do you think, RGCers??

Ang

Our desert rat Kim first planted the seed for an avatar (you're very quiet Kim ..VERY unusual ..hope all okay !!) and we were all very excited but in true granma fashion did'nt actually DO anything !! I think Carma pointed out that it would be drawing attention to our little corner and we'd probably be kicked off !! So hey Deb ..If they have'nt booted us out yet ..I say lets go for it !!I would be so chuffed to see our own blinkie !!! I have a friend who I am seeing very soon who does a range of cards with the best grandmas ever !! When I saw them I immeadiately thought ..THAT epitomises an RGCer !! If I scanned one to show you where would I link it to/from ?? And then what would we do with it ?? I really am a bit of a dork with things like this ?? Help Donut !!! (Our wonderful Saint patiently talked me through my whole signature line ..it only took 2 glasses of wine and one whole evening !! Is'nt she marvelous ??) Loved your LO Laura ..those ladybugs are just the cutest !!
PEACE to all !!
A puzzle for you .

Well, I got another one of those emails from "paypal" saying that if I didn't click on their link and take care of the situation my account would not be usable. I went to the REAL site and checked their FAQ. There it was...send suspicious emails to spoof@paypal.com. I sent both email to that address and they are, indeed, frauds. Paypal sent back a long email telling just what to do and how to tell.

Good company to protect us that way.

Way to go, lauraloub!! Actually, you can send suspicious emails to most companies by addressing them to spoof@xyz. Usually, they like for you to forward as attachments so they can get all the header info.

And just to add a cranky comment, I hate the way the word "spoof" is used -- to me, a spoof is a harmless little joke. These phishing scams are anything but harmless or fun! If anyone is interested in learning more, Wikipedia has some good info at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phishing.

Laura Lou -- SO glad you didn't fall for that. And Omiof5 -- I'm THRILLED that you are in here so we can learn from you!! THANK YOU.
DETers -- Good luck! Wen and Whisper -- I peeked into the chitter-chat thread and nerves are running high! Your los were AWESOME so we will probably not here from you over the next few days while you get your Round-2 layout done! Be sure to link here for us so that we don't miss a beat in getting some of the first comments out there.
OK - Blinkie-planning time: First thing we need to do is experiment with how to transfer some files back-and-forth. I know there's probably some groovy techie way to do it -- but let's just try to do this resourcefully (cuz that's what grammies do!). This is just a trial run on 'how' to do it. Could one of you create a small .jpg file and then upload into your own gallery? Needs to be 150-pixels wide by 100-pixels tall. It can have anything on it--the word 'test' or a piece of background paper or just anything. THEN come into this thread and let us know it's there. AFTER THAT, I'll go out to your gallery and pull up that file and 'save as' into my 'puter to create a test blinkie. Once we get to that point, I'll let you know what we need to do next to finish the experiment. Again this is just to test out 'how'.
Oh, and once I pick up that little file from your gallery, you can go out and delete it if you want.
p.s. to DSP moderator that is monitoring us -- you're probably laughing hysterically at this lame way of creating a group blinkie. Either that or you're really getting a little worried that you've let this group congregate just a bit too long together LOL!!!!

Freda -- Now that you have a wonderful comment from Jill on your very nice test 'layout', you are welcome to delete it if you want.
Phase 1 of our test is now complete!! I think we can pass some files between us by just picking them up out of our galleries. I've picked up the test file from Freda and combined it with a test file of mine and we have a 'blinkie' (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=129329&cat=500&ppuser=41276)!!

I'll experiment now with how to get that into our siggies!! But this is progress!! We won't actually make this blinkie until Carma is back -- just wouldn't be right with out her. But let's all be thinking about what we'll put on our own 'page' of the blinkie!!

This has nothing to do with the current discussion, but..... I was catching up with your comments, saw some good jokes and poems, and thought I would post this old joke. Probably most of you have heard it, but I laugh every time it makes the rounds. :D

Old Mildred, age 95, was despondent over the recent
death of her husband Earl, so she decided to just kill
herself and join him in death.

Thinking it would be best to get it over with quickly, she
took out Earl's old army pistol and made the decision to
shoot herself in the heart since it was already so badly
broken.

Not wanting to miss the vital organ and become a
vegetable and a burden to someone, she called her
doctor's office to learn her heart's exact location.

"Since you're a woman," the doctor said, "your heart
is just below your left breast, but why do you ask?"
Mildred hung up without answering.

Later that night, Mildred was admitted to the
hospital with a gunshot wound to her knee.

Hmmm -- come to think of it, this isn't as funny as it was last year ... or the year before ... or .... :p

Freda

Okay...never set yourself up as a computer "guru" and then screw up and have to admit in a public forum that you can't do something! Ha!!! :p

I downloaded from your gallery and uploaded to the avatar, but it still doesn't want to blink.

Also, I originally put your link into the URL box on my Edit Avatar page instead of the signature page. Just now put it in the signature box and it works in my preview but not in the thread.

Thanks to Laura for the Paypal heads Up - have been reading all the blinkie posts but haven't tried it yet. Congrats to Wen & Whisper. Here's a joke / story that made me scream, I found cleaning out old emails:

The Curtain Rods

She spent the first day packing her belongings into boxes, crates and
suitcases.
On the second day, she had the movers come and collect her things.

On the third day, she sat down for the last time at their beautiful
dining room table by candlelight, put on some soft background music and
feasted on a pound of shrimp, a jar of caviar and a bottle of
Chardonnay. When she had finished, she went into each and every room and deposited a few half-eaten shrimp shells dipped in caviar, into the hollow of the curtain rods. She then cleaned up the kitchen and left.

When the husband returned with his new girlfriend, all was bliss for
the first few days. Then slowly, the house began to smell. They tried
everything; cleaning, mopping and airing the place out.

Vents were checked for dead rodents and carpets were steam cleaned.
Air fresheners were hung everywhere. Exterminators were brought in to
set off gas canisters, during which they had to move out for a few days,
and in the end they even paid to replace the expensive wool carpeting.

Nothing worked. People stopped coming over to visit. Repairmen refused
to work in the house. The maid quit.

Finally, they could not take the stench any longer and decided to move.

A month later, even though they had cut their price in half, they could
not find a buyer for their stinky house. Word got out and eventually
even the local realtors refused to return their calls.

Finally, they had to borrow a huge sum of money from the bank to
purchase a new place.

The ex-wife called the man and asked how things were going. He told her
the saga of the rotting house. She listened politely and said that she
missed her old home terribly, and would be willing to reduce her
divorce settlement in exchange for getting the house back.

Knowing his ex-wife had no idea how bad the smell was, he agreed on a
price that was about 1/10th of what the house had been worth, but only
if she were to sign the papers that very day.

She agreed and within the hour his lawyers delivered the paperwork.

A week later the man and his girlfriend stood smiling as they watched
the moving company pack everything to take to their new home...

....including the curtain rods.

I LOVE A HAPPY ENDING, DON'T YOU????

Happy trails until next time.

LOL!! I have no idea how this should work!! So let's just keep guessing here!

Based on what you described, I think you should have two blinkie things. How about this -- download to your 'puter (as a .gif) -- then upload TO YOUR OWN GALLERY. THEN we'll go to the next step (which I did figure out accidentally once the blinkie was in my own gallery).

Okay, that's done.

Omi -- I'll describe this with non-techie terms; you probably know them by different names so bear with me:
Pull up the edit signature block and place cursor 'in' the block
Above the 'block' is a world-and-link -- press that link which pulls up a dialogue box. On that line in the dialogue box, copy the URL of your gallery page that has the blinkie and press enter.

THEN WITHOUT MOVING THE CURSOR from your current location in the edit-siggie block, press another symbol that is above the block -- the one that looks like a postcard with a mountain on it -- says 'insert image'. That pulls up another dialogue box. Here's the tricky part that I had to stumble around on so let me see if I can get this straight: That line in the dialogue box is looking for a URL that you will get from pulling up the PROPERTIES of your 'picture' --> so to get that, go to your gallery page, place your cursor over the picture, RIGHT click

[oops -- editing --missed a step] and select PROPERTIES at the bottom of the list

and you then will see a very small page that has some info on it about that picture. Copy the 'url'-looking address from that page -- and paste it into your dialogue box back in the edit-siggie-block. Press enter -- and then you should have all the 'script' for the blinkie.

I sure hope I got this close enough for you to give it a shot. Anxiously waiting . . . .

I really think copying the above into your signature block will work! Try that -- and be sure to delete the two spaces that I inserted. One is right after the [URL letters and one is right after the [IMG
Get rid of each of those spaces (and be sure not to accidentally put a space at the end) and I think you'll see the blinkie!

Hmmm -- Daggie -- does the edit-signature block let you preview the blinkie? Are you seeing it at that stage?

Off to bed with me -- I meant to create a LO tonight and instead, we now have the means to make a blinkie. I'm actually more excited about that than the LO I had in mind. Sick!!!! Later all. Cyber hugs.

So THAT's what all you techno grannies do while I'm fast asleep !!! Make blinkies !!! How cool is this ?? I'm pretty frustrated tho' ..as you know I'm a dork ..so copied and pasted Deb's Url thingy ..and kept getting this message ..
The following errors occurred when this message was submitted:
You have included 9 images in your message. You are limited to using 8 images so please go back and correct the problem and then continue again.

Your signature can not be longer than 1000 characters including BBCode markup.

What is this all about ??? Tried removing some stuff and still got the same story about my "message" being too long ?? I dunno !!!!!!!! I feel all forlorn without my TEST blinkie flashing away !!!
Way to go Wen and Whisper .too too proud of our clever clever RGCers !!! Wer'e behind you all the way ! Thanks for easing my blinkie frustrations with those hysterical jokes ..very very good way for this old gogo to get out of her pj's and start the day !! Missing you Kim ..but keep on painting ..Maddy must be delighted to have all this happeining just for her !! You need lots of before and after pics !!
Big blinkie hugs to all ..PEACE !!!!

Woohoo, it's there (it was last time I looked anyway). I am SOO impressed!!

Very funny poems girls, keep the chuckles coming.

Do you think it is just a matter of time before someone at DSP notices us? Hope they join us!!!

BIG CONGRATS to Wen and Whisper, GO grannies!!! Very well deserved! We are so proud of you. We will all be cheering for you in the next round!

Edit: It's still there!!!!!!!

Kay, your avatar is so wonderful -- I had noticed it and loved it even before I found the RGC thread. Wish I had found that picture first!!!! :p

dagwood, good going. I know how hard you worked to get that signature blinking!!! It was fun even though a bit frustrating last night -- I really DID give myself a headache with all that thinking.

Deb, you were a master facilitator last night. Sorry I bailed on you guys at the last minute. Even though I'm "retired," I consult for an adult school and I've been staying up WAY too late for the past week. When I started having mental pictures of falling asleep, crashing forward into my computer, and being the REAL gramma eaten by the computer, I decided it was time to call it a night. :D

Timewise, it would have been much better if I had never found this thread. But, I gotta say, you ladies are a real hoot!

well that wasn't so easy! I did it but lost my DIP DIVA in the process and I don't think that is available now. Does anyone have any ideas? Kay you have more than one blinkie, how do you do that? I also have the text for that blinkie below and can't seem to get rid of it! Sometimes I feel so inept!

Aww thanks Omi ..Love your avatar too ..you are very cute ..you remind me a lot of a famous talking cat that I know !!! LOL !! I did'nt make those blinkies Freda ..they were easy 'cos they were all just links that were copied and pasted ..but when I tried that with Debs link ..I got that garbled message and have'nt been back again !! Emily came to visit her Gogo today so I played with her all afternoon while her poor sleep -deprived Mum caught up on some shut-eye on my bed !! Remember those days ?? ANOTHER wonderful thing about being a Grammie !! So my blinkie is STILL not blinking ..but watch this space ... GOODNIGHT ALL ..gotta go to bed now !!! Hugs to all .

Okay, I have "popped" into this thread a zillion time to see what you grandmas were visiting about and always loved to read and laugh and cry. But never put my two cent into the mix. So here goes.

I'm soooooo excited! Only 19 more day and my son, his wife and most importantly my grandson will be here (Utah) from Japan!!! They were here last Nov. but Jonah has grown so much since then I just can't wait to get my hands on him. We visit most Friday nights (yippee--tonight) over the internet with our web cams so I don't think he will have to get use to us. Oh, he love Elmo so I'm taking my Elmo book with me to the airport. I just can't wait!!

Also I'm thinking about going to the Scrapbook thing in Ohio here is the link! Anyone else interested.

http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17127&highlight=ohio

Check the first post--of course.

My son works for Southwest so I can fly for free! It would be two days after the kids leave to go back to Japan. Something to look forward to after they leave.

Anyway I hope you don't mind me jumping into the the grandma thread.

Being a grandma is my favorite thing in the world.
Being a wife and mother is next.
Then Scrapbooking!!!

Welcome Jaedee, I remember your story through your layouts and posts, you must be SO excited that you will be ableto get your hands on your little grandson soon. He will be inundated with hugs, I reckon. I am Jill, 61 this month, living in Australia, mother of three, grandmother of 8 beautiful grandkids 13 to 2, including two sets of twins. I have been at DSP for just over a year and have learnt SO SO much! Still have a long way to go but I am so enjoying the journey.
Speaking of journeys, that scrapbooking trip sounds like such fun, it would be good if a few of us grannies could actually meet in the flesh. Not an option for me though unfortunately. Those of us that can go will just have to have twice as much fun to make up for those of us who can't!
Off to a line dance social tonight, no dressing up in hats and masks like Ineke and Daggie, just neat clothing. I am wearing black pants and a white shirt with a few frills and sparkly bits on it, and my black ankle boots that I use for dancing all the time. It will be fun and I'll have sore feet tomorrow!

Wonder how Carma is going? Wonder if she has thought of us while she's been away? I think I will send her a PM for when she gets back to let her know she has, at current count, 12 pages and 175 posts to catch up on:D:D:

Have a great weekend all!

Edit: Make that 13 pages and 180 posts (lizzanne was busy posting at the same time as I was)

now i wanna learn more!....but i'll leave the best to you all first....haha!
do you love my choice of lettering up there ^^ nothing like kays. she's much more expressive.(and i say that with all nicest thoughts too!)
will we scare carma away??...NOT
i'm still game for a chat room of grannies if we can since we can't all get together at the scrapbooking day out!
hugs all...going for dinner ..ttfn ...have fun dancing jill!...and i also mean that in the nicest of ways.....(gigglin)

We visit most Friday nights (yippee--tonight) over the internet with our web cams so I don't think he will have to get use to us.

JaeDee, when my son and family moved to the opposite coast from the rest of the family, I set up our computer and my children's computers with video chat. (We use Macs, so we have iSight cameras.) That way, the cousins, grandparents, etc., get to "see" each other when we talk. Not as good as having them in your lap but a WHOLE lot better than just hearing their voices, isn't it?

Plus, two grandchildren and I had a neat experience yesterday. One was stumped on an algebra problem, and I'm a retired math teacher. The homeworker faxed the problem to me, and the three of us used the videochat to problem solve together. We could see each other, hold up our diagrams, etc. -- really neat! (BTW, it was a challenge problem; my grandkids know better than to ask for an answer because they'll get a full-blown lesson! :p)

We've also used videochats to see artwork, admire gaps in teeth within minutes after the teeth were lost, show off new hairstyles, etc. For those of you with long-distance grandchildren, I just can't recommend this technology enough. Be forewarned that you need fast connections and the video quality isn't always great. Plus it can be a pain to set up at first, especially if your family has a mix of Macs and PCs. It's well worth the effort, though -- the only problem we have now is time zones and coordinating chats with bedtimes. :D

better on gas....ha! actually ..got gas today for 1.35 a gal ...i was so hyped!

lizzanne, I assuming that can't be $1.35 US. We're all hyped in my area because our prices dropped to $3 US/gallon this week. Yes, I know the rest of the world laughs at how spoiled we are, and I willingly plead guilty. :o I grew up in an oil-producing state, though, and can remember -- kid you not!! -- getting gas for 4 cents/gallon when service stations got into gas wars in the late 1950s.

Gotta say, though, that my brain also clicked off at $2,000 for a car, $20,000 for a house, etc. We'll never see those days again -- sigh. Of course, it's all relative -- my husband and I were living on $3000 a year and I'm not terribly anxious to see THOSE days again either. (Well, maybe the young body, nice skin, lack of gray hair, energy.......:D )

ok ok ok ...i've got to admit to my typo! shall i change the gas to 2.35?...yep yep ...that would be right this time!
thanks for pointing it out to me....must be wishful thinking! ( did i mention i'm a challenge when it comes to numbers and math?) oh ..wait ...did i mention i'm just challenged????...lol
can't we just pick what we want to go back to? i'd want to keep the updated income of course too.

Loving the blinkies!!! I'm only popping in here for a second because both grandkids are sleeping over night here (and hubby thinks I'm up here helping them get changed for bed -- so gotta' hurry here!).

Welcome, JaeDee - I remember a lot of your work and I LOVE your avatar. I flew through some of the rest of your comments so will have to fly back through slower in a few hours.

We'll have to get planning on the 'real' blinkie as soon as Carma gets back! So get to thinking about what those pages of blinkie should hold. Now that we know we can do the blinkie thing, we may want to get rid of the test one in the meantime. Feel free to start dropping that out of siggie blocks -- we'll get those instructions going again. And Freda -- we'll have to figure out how to get that DIP thing back. I've got a couple ideas and we'll see if we can get that up and going over the weekend.

Oops -- gotta go -- 'til tomorrow .

Thanks all for the warm welcome!! Not so sure about the Columbus trip:( It will have to be an overnight trip because the earliest flight on Saturday won't get there until after the Scrapping day is over!! Trying to talk the DH into the whole idea! A blinky sounds like fun. Off to scrap!
