photoshop question

I somehow have messed up the rectangular marquee tool. it now has rounded edges and doesn't actually select everything I want. if I am trying to surround a certain area it doesn't correspond with where my arrow is. I have to pull really far down to get everything that I want.
can anyone help me.

Have you checked to see if the box for "feather: is set to 0? That is the only thing I can think of.

I don't have PS open right now, but I think in the drop down box in the marquee presets (at the top in the options bar) you can see some options in there (should say No presets) Click the black arrow inside the little circle, at the bottom of that menu choose Reset Tool (not Reset All Tools)

Hope that puts it back to normal. And feather is at 0? I can't for the life of me figure out what you did :D I mean, it should be at a high feather to be doing that, so hopefully reseting the tool helps you out
