I've been debating about buying this camera, but my DH feels I don't need a $1000 camera to photograph our baby! LOL.

If you have this camera,

Have you been happy with it?
How is the shutter lag?
Does it do a good job if you use the autofocus?
How is the image noise?

These are the things that make me unhappy with my current dig camera.

I'd love any thoughts on this camera!

I LOVE it!!!
It is definately my dream camera.
to answer your questions:
Have you been happy with it? VERY, Very happy
How is the shutter lag? very little shutter lag, even in the auto mode
Does it do a good job if you use the autofocus? does a great job with the auto focus
How is the image noise? what image noise?!
I had a 35mm Canon Rebel and a Sony Cyber Shot before this and really liked them both, BUT after playing with my Digi Rebel, I am amazed at how much better of a camera it is.
I also stated in another thread if you go to the Dell website, they have it there. I couldn't splurge $1000 at one pop, so I bought it through Dell for about $30/ month.
I'm just kicking myself that I didn't buy it sooner.
I highly doubt you'll regret the purchase.
If you want anymore info, just drop me an email.
Marsha

**editted to add: The battery life is suppose to be about 600 pics, and you are supposed to be able to print your pics up to 13x19 (if you have the printer to do so)

I bought mine last month. Love it!!! I have been playing around with the different settings. I have been taking loads of Macro shots of flowers. I really didn't need it but I am glad I bought it!

If price isnt a factor .I would reallly take a look at the Nikon D70, it's very responsive.

I've had my Digital Rebel since January. Being brand new to the world of SLR, I did find that there was somewhat of a learning curve with the DRebel, but now I do really like it. Also, if you're going to shoot only in auto mode, you may have some issues with your indoor shots being dark. Also, with a 2 year old, I needed more zoom than what I could get with the kit lens, so I ended up investing another $300+ on a zoom lens. Overall, I really like my DRebel!

Hope that helps~

Jodi,
What did you do to overcome the learning curve? Did you take any classes?

Thanks,
Liz

No, I haven't taken any classes. Mostly, I just shoot, and shoot, and shoot! :) My 2 year old hates my obesession ;) I also got the "short course" book by Dennis P. Curtain.

Canon also has a site for Digi Rebel owners with some tutorials and just basic info on using a SLR vs a Point and shoot.

I just got mine last night ! ! ! Yippy ! I am just crazy about it. ZERO lag time, instant shoot ! The color and lighting inside and outside are perfect in auto.

I would have preferred the Nikon D70 because of all of the reviews that I read. But my film camera is a Canon Rebel and I have a lot of lenses and the flash. I AM NOT DISAPPOINTED !

I bought it at Inkley's (Ritz) and it came with 18 photo classes - COOL !

Can you tell that I am excited !!!

I have had two previous digi's, I loved my Fuji (3 meg) and HATED (did I mention HATED) my 5 meg Minolta. I am happy and settled for a long time now with my new baby.

I signed up this morning for 2 yahoo groups for this camera.

I love my DRebel. I got it for a very surprizing mother's day gift!

I totally agree with the others..

Very happy with it!!!!

There is NO shutter lag

It does a fine job in auto.

Image noise? LOL. Crisp clear pics.

The battery lasted me all day long (of on and off on and off) on vacation. We would be out a minimum of 8 hrs a day.
