Does anyone else have the problem that you want to use a ton of pictures but not make layouts look too busy. For instance I have five 12 x 12 pages just for Easter. Seems I want to include them all and can't pick just a couple. I sometimes wonder if it's overkill. Any suggestions on how I can handle this would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Emma did a great freebie kit that you might want to check out:

Birthday Freebie (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=44387&cat=500&ppuser=17)

It includes the graphic overlay, which can be used without the Happy Birthday title, and can be filled with photos!

I also have this same problem. I scrap events not just single pictures. My christmas for 2005 could be an album by itself. I was even selective on what Pictures I used. But there are soo many activities, decorating the tree, 3 christmas parties, Christmas with all the different families, great grandparents, aunts & uncles etc..then you still have your normal traditions etc. then christmas morning etc... Halloween was 3 2-page spreads.. Easter will be atleast 3 2-page spreads. and I am really going to have work on being selective on the pictures for that. How does everyone else deal with all the pictures they take for all the events!! ???? Most (not all) the layouts in the gallery are 1 to 3 pics and most of the sketch challenges are for 1 to 2 pics...
so, I am in the same boat!!

good design applies here too: if you don't have a focal photo and make them all the same size, then you need to use good flow, balance, rule of thirds, focal point, etc. There's an old thread about this with links to some good examples:

My post is the last one there
here's another one

Becky Higgens does great sketches based on lots of photos - http://www.creatingkeepsakes.com/mag/members/article.ihtml?index_field=1681here is the one for this month but each month she has a new one - she also has magazines based just on her sketches - I often turn to them when I have lots of photos to scrap

I find you can do lots of photos on a page if you keep the page simple.

There are a few in my gallery which have lots on a page

such as this one
Chaos comes in twos (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=96469&cat=500&ppuser=11951)

and for loads on a page take a look at
this one (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=62796&cat=1407) from my Baltic States Album.

I have lots of layouts with lots of pics too .. Lauren has a great template in the freebies for bunches of pics. They look fine if they aren't too busy and one of the masters at it is Meryl Bartho - check her gallery, it's awesome!!

Here's one I did. It has 8 photos. i guess that doesnt sound like a lot, but its a lot more than I usually use.

You really just have to weed out pictures. that's what I've always done paper scrapping and digi scrapping.
