I use my Canon Rebel G on trips but day-to-day I use the digital. Love my Rebel though, I am always so excited to see the pictures when I pick them up from WalMart! :D

Ah, yes. Film. I just had it installed on ALL of the windows in our house. We just moved to the California high desert and, you know, it saves us a ton of money on cooling and lets us watch tv without all the glare.

OH!!!! You mean CAMERA film?!?!?!? Nope - never heard of it...

High compliments to the film users, I think the only ones left who do both are serious photographers!
My sister Jennifer is still into film even though she's gone digital because she's really into photography.
To know enough about what you're doing to choose the right equipment and supplies, now that's something to be proud of!
My photos are...ahem...shall we just say less than stellar?

At the moment I'm digital only. I'm hoping I have the money for a decent film camera before the year is out though!

I haven't used film in quite some time, I've got a dinosaur in the world of digital cams (canon powershot A10) and am looking at new cameras right now! I've actually got 3 rolls of film I've had for way too long sitting in the fridge waiting to be developed, couldn't tell you where my camera was (the one that needs film) right now!

stace.

I still have my wonderful SLR film camera and use it about the same as my digital. I can't give up my film camera just yet. :D

I really like my digital, but would love to be good enough to capture pics on a SLR film cam.

My digi cam is not real high end, but has taken some spectacular photos. Especially of the Pacific Ocean. But if I went with a digital or a film SLR it would cost about the same...and I don't have that kind of money. :D I feel for you Tina. :p

One of my fantasies would be to take a photography class, have an expensive camera and shoot to my hearts content. Oh well, maybe one day!!!

I used film all the time until recently when I turned digital. I still have a film camera though to give me some versatility in my work. Since having my DSLR though its been used way more than film, its soooo much more economical because theres no wastage & allows you to be more creative without burning a whole in your pocket, (well except for the inital investment into a DSLR)!!! Still admire fim though hugely & think it still has the slight edge over digital but not enough to warrant me solely staying film. So I guess I'm a fan of both!

Smiles,

Emma.

ROTF - this whole topic has me giggling - you guys are just hillarious!!

I inherited my grandfather's film slr (Nikon? Fuji - can't remember and it's tucked away in the closet), and I've been having this internal battle with myself about putting it up on ebay to try to come up with the money for a digital rebel or even a Cannon 10D.......... Oy... But, someday (when I retire?) I want to learn how to shoot film and develop etc...... Along with throwing pottery - totally want to learn how to do that if only to say that I can throw pottery........

I got a Canon PowerShot A70 for Christmas - and I *love* being digital. I love the freedom to take 2 dozen shots of Mom's new puppy tonight, 5 dozen shots of the coast, to indulge my nephew (until we filled my card!) with magical transformation scenes.

That said, I'm also packing my Canon Elph 370Z APS camera when I tour Pennsylvania next month. I've figured out how to take photos to be stitched together into a panoramic shot - but it'll be much easier to let the Elph do it in one shot. (Espcially since I'm not packing the tripod.) We'll be visiting Antietam and Gettysburg and I've found that I really like panoramic shots of the battlefields.

My sister's had a digital camera for a couple years now. It used to be, I'd take a picture of her kids with my Elph and they'd want to see it right then. They didn't understand why Zia's camera couldn't show them!<g>

My Grandpa Skold was an avid amateur photographer - did his own developing, etc. He liked to play tricks with his photos - I can only imagine what he'd have done with Photoshop! I don't expect I'll ever get so interested as to learn to develop film myself. But I do have a (so far tiny) yen to learn to take and develop daguerrotypes and tintypes - I do living history events and this just intrigues me.

I am going backwards at this whole thing. I started out on a digital and now I am putting away for a film camera. I am looking at the rebels lately and I think I might go with one of those.

I am a firm believer Rebbeca that there is room for film and digital, they both have different looks but are equally important in their own sphere. I particularly would love to explore alternative printing in some more depth.
