Hi all,
I'm very new to digital scrapbooking although I've always archived my family photos via computer layouts. I'm a designer for Poshtots.com so I'm already familiar with a few graphic programs (none of the pricey ones however) and have somewhat of a knack for design just not too much! I'm 100% open to any "expert" advice. I've done a few of my own "real" layouts this past week and would love if anyone would like to critique them. Thanks a bunch and I look forward to meeting you!
Stephanie

Welcome Stephanie.

I am new to digital scrapbooking too. I am still very new to this site. I am trying to work my way through to read. There's so much. I have done a couple of projects already. Plus I have been adding to my scrap collection every chance I get.

Why not post some of your layouts in your gallery for us to see? I would love to see what you have done. I am definitely no "expert".

Hi Annie,
I'm trying to post one now, but they have a 125k file size limit so I'm having to scale it down to size. I think it will work this time--I just hope my images are clear. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Any ideas??

I wish I had a suggestion for you. I use PSP 7 and 10. I acutally make my projects at 600 x 600. Then I put them in PSP 10 to change the compression on them so they are no larger then 125k. I'm sure some of the regulars would have some better advice for you.

Welcome to DSP! Sounds like you have some great experience to jump off with.

Here's a tutorial on posting to the gallery

Annie is 100% right: first resize the layout, changing the resolution to 72ppi, then the height to about 500-600 pixels (let the other side change itself to match). Then save AS a JPEG image, compressing it until it's under size. Not sure what program you're using, if you let us know we can give you more detailed instructions.

hth! Have fun! Looking forward to seeing more of your work
