I have posted this before but I am not sure if it went though. Please forgive me if this is a duplicate. I posted this same question in another forum and nobody could help me. Someone suggested I ask for help from Emma.

The problem is when I paint using brushes in adobe it looks great. However when i save the project and reopen it later to print it everything painted with the brush is gone. I have tried saving layers and also I have merged the layers before saving them. Any suggestions?

ahh... need to upgrade...

It might be that the layers need to be rasterized (or god-forbid flattened *please no no no*)... That's something to try at least...

Other than that, one word of advice: upgrade. (ps elements is quite affordable and does the job)

I understand that the current brush engine that Photoshop uses didnt start until V 6.0 so Im sure that is the problem - you are using a very old version - which may not support the brushes you are using

I just bought this version and paid quite a bit for it. I thought it was prety current. Plus I am trying to use the brushes that came installed in the programin addition to those that i have downloaded. I am really confused????

Oh well it sounds like you have Adobe Photoshop ELEMENTS v4.0 - not photoshop v4 - there is a big difference - Photoshop is now up to version 9 ( Photoshop CS2)

In that case have you checked you have the visibility turned on for the brush layers

Maybe thats the key! How do i check to see if that is on. If you are meaning makimg sure the layer i am brushing on is the active layer the answer is yes it is.
