Making photos "POP"

I use PSP8 and I am wondering if anyone knows how to make the pics color pop. Is it just saturation? Does anyone know of the steps to take?

Upping the contrast often helps, I use a defog action, there is a free one here

I downloaded and used- does make a photo sharper...

oooh .. i just tried an action yesterday ... it was a bit complicated.
try a "draganizer". there's a step in there that makes the photo pop, so you can use it just up to that step and ignore all the other parts of it.
