View Full Version : Meryl's Digital Dates
I really like Meryl's sets of digital dates that are available in the store. However, I can't use them because they're in English and I normally scrap in Finnish (my mother tongue). Could anyone (Meryl?) tell me the name of the font used in the dates, or point me to a similar font, so that I could try my hand at making my own set? If they were available in Finnish, I would gladly buy them from DSP, but I'm afraid the market would be so small that it wouldn't be worth your time creating them!

I have her set of digital dates and the font she used is Stamped Kasbah, which can be found in the store: http://store.digitalscrapbookplace.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=1459
I hope this helps. :)
Thanks for the info, Audrey! :)

Thanks everyone... Here's what I came up with. Had to use a little thinner font in the end because Finnish month names are so long. :) CC welcome!

Sorry I have come in a tad late here - just seent he post. I don't want to start a tidal wave of request for this, but as I do still have the .psd files and you have purcased the set, perhaps I could change one of the sets for you? You would need to give me the months..... tha't all that needs changing, am I correct? Just let me know whic set it is :)

Hey, thanks anyway for the offer, that was so sweet and generous of you! :) The DSP font probably wouldn't have worked for the long names so it would have been a bit more work for you than just changing the text to Finnish. As you can see, I also changed the apostrophe before the year to a hyphen, as that's the way we do it in Finnish. :) To anyone who might be wondering, the text in my sample says 'marraskuu', which means November. 'kuu' = moon or month, it's included at the end of each month name in Finnish. 'marras' is an old word (not in current use) meaning dead - our month names are very expressive, lol.

That explains why I am so weird! I was born in the dead month!! Ha Ha!! :)
LOL @ Vallie! November is a pretty dark time in Finland - short days and no snow yet to lighten up your way. I was born in toukokuu, the sowing month (May). Just for fun, here's a list of our month names:
January - tammikuu - oak month
February - helmikuu - pearl month
March - maaliskuu - earth month or sap month
April - huhtikuu - burnt-over clearing month (long story... lol!)
May - toukokuu - spring sowing month
June - kesäkuu - summer month
July - heinäkuu - hay month
August - elokuu - harvest month
September - syyskuu - autumn month
October - lokakuu - mud month
November - marraskuu - dead month
December - joulukuu - Yule month

Very interesting!
Where but on DSP would you learn stuff like this? Thanks for teaching me something new.
