I am reading about different graphic file formats, and came across PNG files vs GIF, and was wondering if there's any software the makes animated PNGs?

"n. Acronym for Portable Network Graphics. A file format for bitmapped graphic images, designed to be a replacement for the GIF (graphic interchange format), without the legal or patent restrictions associated with GIF"

Just curious...Adobe ImageReady always makes animated GIF, but wondering if PNG is going to take over this area as well. And what are the patent restrictions on GIF?

Emma,
I'm sure there must be a way but I'm thinking they wouldn't be good to use on a website or something like that because not all browers recognize png format and display it...most of the time you have to download it.
