Kim, I want to know how you get your text to curve like that. I do the text curve thing in PSE 4.0, but not like that. I'm talking about on the sample quick clicks

text on a path! it's a new featured introduced in pscs2 it's sooo lovely.

I was coming to ask about the text myself. So I guess we can't do that in PSE4?

I have another question. I have all my layers done for the QC but now when I try to add some other elements my qc layers are all moving around and it won't let me move the new element. Should I merge/lock my layers before trying to add something new?

Thanks for any help :)

sometimes i find that easier first i link my paper/photo layer to the matching white space layer from the quick click then I'll lock those in place if i still find i'm having trouble by accidently picking up the wrong layer.

If you have opacity turned down a bit it sometimes has trouble picking up that layer...i usually turn back up the opacity to move then lower it once i've got the element/photo, etc where i want it.

CHECK OUT THIS TUTORIAL FOR PUTTING TEXT IN A CIRCLE IN PS BUT IT SHOULD WORK FOR PSE:

http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/university/tutorials/ps_textincircle_mb.shtml

if you do the same text over and over you can make it in a circle like this and then just make the circle large enough to run around the edge of the paper and it can run right off the page.

Did anyone else have trouble downloading the back pack? I got the zipped file, but when I tried to unzip it, I got a prompt to insert a disk. What can I do?

did click save to disk? You just need to pick a folder on your harddrive.

Hey Maria,

Just make a path and then when you click on it with your text tool, don't click inside...click on the line :) then type. :)

http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=108757&cat=940&limit=recent

I haven't had a problem with a QC yet but this one just isn't working right for me. It is so very washed out. I tried 5 different photos and they all looked faded. The one in the layout example is very bright and colorful and the other postings look good. I can turn off the overlay on the 2nd layer to fix the washed out look there but can't do it on the top layer. Anybody know what I'm doing wrong? I don't like this faded look at all.

loonyhiker
06-24-2006, 07:28 PM
When mine looked like that, I realized I had the overlay in the wrong spot. I think I had to move it below the weave. I hope this helps.

Bally, I think the difficulty is that the shading on the overlay...in order to get the weave look, cuts down on the brightness or saturation of the photo. Just up the saturation or contrast in your original photo and then it will show through. Perhaps that should be added to the instructions on this one... Will look forward to Kim's comments...

I think my layout may be a little different usage of the word art with the weave and kind of picture than most but it fits so perfectly! My son used to be afraid of **everything**! Then one day, it just all ended; he wanted so badly to see what was at the bottom of the hill in the woods next to the river, that he went hiking down there with no fear of spiders or snakes or anything! It was such a blessed day!

You are right, Many Feathers. :) Bally, If you have photoshop or photoshop elements, you can change the blend mode on that layer to multiply and it will just darken and lighten with less of the grey shadow effect. :)

Dear Kim,

I am sorry I cannot do your Quick clicks but Bally just sent me a tutorial with step by step instructions of doing it she made it herself and it is very good. I still have to figure a few things out but excellent for people who know more about Photoshop.

I uploaded my disaster so that all could see that I tried. It has a queer sence of appeal
