I am going to make Basic, Basic Kit a month long focus - each week I will give you a few additions so that by the end of July you will have a fabulous, mega kit :)

This lovely add-on is available for download, free, until July 13th. It is Password protected - in order to get the password you must either:

Thank you all who came to the chat, shared birthday cake and tea with me :) lovely to have seen so many of you :) Thanks for all your great suggestions, I have made a note of them, so many could make a dozen or so kits! and hope to have some done really soon :)
I love the pages I have seen so far, farticularly joined with other kits - one of my goals with basic, basic was to make a kit that had bits you could combine beautifully with lots in your stash - kepp the pages coming :)

How do I use a LO in my gallery for more than one challenge?

Fulltime River, I believe you have to upload it twice seperately. Once for each gallery you want to put it in. Since one layout file cannot be in two gallery's at the same time. So pick your gallery first, then upload it. Then go into your next gallery and upload it from your computer again to that gallery.

Although, RVer, some designers do not mind if your LO is in another gallery... so long as you provide the correct link in their challenge thread. Check with the other designer!

I did this for a 1960s scanning challenge, a project I was working on before I went to the chat on Thursday, and as soon as I saw those flowers I knew what I'd do with them! I have since bought Basic Basic and will do another LO using more of this wonderful kit and add on.

Here is another LO, using some items I didn't use before from the Basic Basic kit (and a prong from Add-on). I merged another photo of the house (after giving it a b/w pencil effect) into the lovely grungy white background.

Hell's Backbone is a beautiful back road, but I didn't get any especially good photos so had to make do with what I had. I'm not real sure how I got this photo to come out this way. There are two layers of the photo - both somewhat transparent because of a brush I used. They interacted with each other and came out like this. Still not a great photo but I like it better than the original and it goes so nicely now with the wonderful neutral BGs of BasicBasic.

Here is my layout this week using Meryl's wonderful Basic, Basic page kit and elements from the Freebie_01 and Freebie_02 sets. I did this layout for Mery's Heritage chat this week, so it is in that gallery for now. I was stumped as to what kit to use, so I ended up going back to "Basics" (haha....pun intended). I was pleased with how it turned out, as the elements in the Basic, Basic collection were perfect for my research notes.

Melanie - Meryl is having major computer problems, so I am assuming that when she is able to get back online, she will post another freebie addon (Freebie #3) for Basic, Basic. She had indicated that this challenge would go on for several weeks. Therefore, I would continue to post for another week following the same rules.....

Post a layout using the MAIN Basic, Basic page kit (and if you wish you can also use elements from the Basic, Basic Addons or Backpack).

Hope this helps! And hope Meryl is able to get her computer problems resolved soon! We miss her!!!!

Today we will do something different - seeing as it is Christmas in July week we will do a Christmas page, AND you are going to do it fast! Yes, - a Speedscrap. For those who don't know what a Speedscrap is this is how it works:
I will upload an inspiration - today it will be an advertisement. You may use the inspiration exactly as you'd like to, placement, colours whatever it says to you.
You will then have 10 minutes to collect your photos and a kit (NOT time to shop in the shore LOL, one you have, can be any Christmassy kit)
You will then have most of the rest of the hour to do your page.
You will then upload to the Christmas in July Gallery (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=2891).
During the hour I will be acting Santa - "Spot Gifts" Ho, ho, ho!!!

So come along with your speed skates on - see you at 11.00 am EST for some fun :)

I wasn't sure where else to post, so I figured it was safe to post here.

I revised my chat layout a tiny bit, and I made a companion page to go with it. No, I didn't do much at all - added drop shadows, a ribbon, a quote, and a patch from the page kit I had used. I spent a lot of time on the second page resizing and touching up photos. Layout took no time at all once all pix were fixed. Amazing how that works!!!

Meryl is going to post info in the forum, we need to use an alpha add on kit that will be in the shop (wasn't there this AM). She will post a link. We are to use the addon can use Basic Basic also but not required. After you get the add on do a LO as usual; post in T42 and add link to store. That's it!!

The stamp handle idea sounds nice Karen! KInd of like the stamp handle that I've seen in the blinkie that says "I've been scraplifted". I like your idea of being able to place the stamp handle along side of a phrase you just typed or stamped using Meryl's new Basic, Basic stamped alpha set.

I am confused! For the 4th freebie - what do we do? Are we supposed to buy the basic stamp alpha? Because a link is provided in the freebies section for the alphas. Or are the alphas the freebie you get for posting a layout using Basic,Basic kit?

The kit in the freebies section is the Basic, Basic Stamped Alpha "EXTRAS". (NOT the actual alpha)You will get these EXTRAS free if you do a layout with the Basic, Basic Stamped Alpha set (which will soon be in the store) and post in the T42 gallery, and also post a link in the forum thread to request the Password to this freebie. I hope that makes sense. If not, please don't hesitate to ask!

I'm sorry this was not in store yesterday for the chat - poor Kim had just way too many month end/month start products to upload........ it is there now, I have posted ALL the details on the gallery samples and in this thread here. After the heritage chat I tweaked my reunion layout. I wanted the titles to show up better and where else to go but the Basic, Basic! set for the basic white cardstock.
