I'm going to be moving to an apartment in the future and would like ideas on storage of original photos after being scanned. Right now most are stored in Rubbermaid Photo Tubs one scanned and other already scanned. Just need some alternative ideas that will work for storage at my daughter's or some alternative place as there won't be room in the apartment.

Would appeciate your ideas and thoughts on original photo storage.

Thanks
Barb

I'd suggest a sorting system -- maybe cataloging which photos you have and where (computer file maybe for an index). There are clear plastic sleeves that negatives slide into that can be stored in a three ring notebook - if you have the negatives for these photos, I might store them at a different location than the photos.

I'd try to store them where they aren't going to experience big temperature changes (plastic boxes can get moisture inside). I found this CARING FOR YOUR PHOTOGRAPHS (http://aic.stanford.edu/library/online/brochures/photos.html) link from Stanford & hope it has some suggestions that help.

I agree, i would find out a reliale archival system that temperature and moisture won't be an issue.

Excellent suggestions, Pam! I have a binder full of negatives in those plastic sleeves you've described and it's so easy to find what I'm looking for. Now I have to work on putting my negatives and my photos in different places.
Thanks for that link, Pam! Lots of valuable info there. Now if I can just get organized with my 10,000+ digital photos.
Barb, I don't know what else to add--I hope you're able to figure out a suitable storage solution.
