Tutorial - The Artist

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Start with a blank canvas - Format to your preferred scrapping size
Format/resize canvas

2.Open an image you wish to create/turn into an artist masterpiece.

3.Create a copy of this image
Edit/Copy - Edit/Paste - you should now have 2 copies of your photo open on the canvas.

4.Selecting your bottom photo on the stack palette (CNTRL/ mouse click) Apply Filter effects - Effects/Filters/All Filters/Pencil Greyscale

5. Selecting your top photo on the stack palette. Apply Filter effects - Effects/Filters/All Filters/Pencil strokes

6. You should now have a black and white sketch photo on your canvas with colour pencil stroke photo directly on top.
Selecting your top photo on the stack palette (colour pencil strokes) Go to Effects/Transparency/transparency brush - (adjusting paint transparency all the way to 100) drag brush over your coloured photo to create the illusion of an artist brush - Your black and white sketch should magically be appearing at this point - You will be getting excited as you will be seeing instant results!!!

7. Add effects such as paint brush or artist easel to complete the layout.

Remember - Think outside the box - play with the filters and the advanced settings on these filters - the possiblitlies are endless!!!

Thanks Ann Maree, I'm barely keeping up, but I've just tried a photo using this sketch effect - dh's guitar - it's very easy to do and I think it has turned out well. Haven't done a layout with it, but I know how to do it for future layouts now! :) Here's the link : http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=114084&page=0
