Original pictures?

Hi, If I have my pictures in picassa and then plan to scrap in PSE4----I import pictures to the PSE program. Are those the originals or are they copies? If I edit the pictures in Picassa---have I ruined the originals/or is the original saved?

Picasa is just a snapshot of the files you have on your hard drive. If you bring the original into PSE (from your picture folder or whereever you have it) you can alter it however you want and 'save as' a different name - then both the original AND the altered one will be safe on your HD ... Picasa will then show both pictures. Never just 'save' an altered photo unless you're positive you really like the changes you make - if you just 'save' it, your original is gone. Hope that helps.
