:) Hi everyone,
My name is Shirl and I live in Geelong, Victoria, Australia. I'm married with four kids...3 boys & 1 girl...ages 10, 12, 14 & 16. My daughter is the youngest. I'm also the mummy to a very cute woof called Molly...she's a 5 yr old maltese x shih tzu.
I'm just recently new to the site and new to digital scrapbooking.
I've been scrapbooking for 5 years...and since day one I've been a total addict!! I ony just recently started looking into digital scrapbooking after the company I'm a consultant with announced they were going to launch into the digital side of things. Since that day I've done a lot of research and taught myself how to make a lot of my own basic embellishments. I discovered this site about a month ago and downloaded some of the freebies to play with. Once I got playing I became hooked ..and just 'had to' buy lots more goodies from the shop!!! lol
I started off using Photoshop & PSP...but now the new TLC LifeTimez program has been released ..I'm using that too.
I'm really loving how quick it is to make digital layouts compared to doing it the traditional way. I will never give up on my papers & embellishments...but digital scrapbooking is now definitely a BIG part of my life. The fact that I'm dreaming about it should give you some kind of idea of how addicted I've become! hehehe
I haven't posted anything in the gallery yet but I will do soon.
Anyway..I'm looking forward to learning a LOT more about digi scrapping, downloading lots more freebies, and spending LOTS more at the shop!!! lol
(((Hugs)))
Shirl :)

Welcome! I am a digiscrap addict, too, and figured that out after I also realized I was dreaming about it...:) I love it here and all the designers are the BEST! I would love to visit Australia someday, I live in California. See you around in the chats!

Welcome Shirl! You are here at a perfect time for lots of excitement and some freebies and challenges -- check the CIJ forum and look at the activities for Saturday (time problem, possibly - the times are listed as US Eastern Time). I see you're "ScrapHappy" -- my DSP member name was originally "HappyScrap!"

I love digital scrapbooking, but never did any with paper. It's just great to save and resume later -- no mess to clean up and I can use my kits over again. It sounds like you keep very busy, welcome to DSP! Be sure to ask if every you have questions, the members are very friendly.

Hi Panda & Pam..& Thanks for the Welcome :)
Panda..It's good to hear that I'm not the only one dreaming about digi scrapping! lol You should definitely visit Australia one day...it's a beautiful country. I'm hoping to join in the chat tomorrow at lunch time (our time) which is 9pm Saturday on the site. Hope to see you there.
Pam..I've already checked out the chat time for the Christmas freebie!! lol It works out to be lunch time here on Sunday...so that'll be perfect! I've just got to remember to be there! lol So you've never scrapped with paper...you should give it a go sometime! lol It's lots of fun too!! I do have to say though..I am thoroughly enjoying not having to clean up after myself with the digi scrapping! I am a very messy arty person...whenever I make anything I end up surrounded by a mountain of supplies that then takes me absolutely ages to clean up again!!! lol :P I also usually take a long time to create a layout because I like everything to be 'just right'....<~~a bit of a fusspot! lol Since I started digital scrapping I'm finding I can finish a layout in a very short amount of time. I'm even did 3 lo's in one evening!!! Bloomin amazing!! That would never happen in traditional scrapping for me! lol
Anyway, thanks again ladies for the lovely welcome. I'll see you on the boards!

Hi and welcome, fellow Aussie, there are quite a lot of us "downunders" here at DSP. I have been here nearly a year, I registered in August 2005 and that was my first step into the scrapping world. I have never paper scrapped and hadnt digi scrapped until I started here. I LOVE it but spend far too much time at the computer!! The tutorials, classes, contests and challenges are great here and everyone is very helpful. They have a contest for New Kids on the Block here, you might want to check that one out, I did it earlier this year and learned a lot from it. Have fun with your digi scrapping!

Hi Shirl

I'm from Victoria as well, near the Dandenong Ranges. You are going to have so much fun here! I started off the same as you, but now I have given away the mess and cost of peper based scrapbooking and gone competely digital. Looking forward to seeing some of your designs.

WOW! I can't believe you are new to digital scrapping - those layouts are awesome! I love the first one you did with the tags - I'm definitely going to scraplift it(if you don't mind!). I'm only starting out and I'm sooo not as good as you - you'll have to give me some tips! Gabby.
