Okay...I admit to being a computer ditz.....and I need HELP please!!!
How do I zip a flattened layout file so that I can send it via email to someone so that they can print it out???
I downloaded WinZip and tried that...with the setting of "Normal" compression, but neither my Comcast nor Yahoo account will accept it because even the zipped file is too large.
Any suggestions???

If it is a flattened jpeg, zipping it probably won't reduce the size much as jpeg is already a compressed format (the way I understand it). Do you know how big the Yahoo limit is? If you do, you can use your imaging program to make a file that is just under the limit by playing with the quality.

Flatten it, make it a JPG with a quality of about 8 and send each file SEPERATELY. I PM'd you. :D I think you are trying to email both in the zipped folder. That would be huge! :D Zipping an image does not make it smaller in size. Zipping is mostly good for when you have multiple files (like in a kit) that you want to be kept in the same folder (like in a kit). The only time zipping really shrinks the size of something is text files, spreadsheets, etc. Actually, if you have RAW format, zipping would reduce the size a bit. But generally speaking, zipping layouts doesn't save any more space than non zipped layouts.
EDITED: hubby just said, compressing (i.e. zipping) a photoshop file does make it take up less space. BUT since I will not be editing the file, it is best to do as I said above - make it a jpg and send the jpegs to me in seperate emais.
