ABC album challenge

Here is a forum for the ABC challenge and any abc album related ideas.
The current challenge is to create an entire abc album in 6 weeks.
The first weeks task is to sort out your 27 photos ( 26 + 1 for the title page)
or to sort out your 26 quotes /words for each page .

This sounds so cool, I think I may give this a try. My husbands been in and out of the hospital so I havent had much time to scrap the last few months. Hopefully I can complete the challenge!!!!!!!!! Cant wait to get started. :)

This is going to be fun. I think I'm going to do a patriotic theme for my kids (the CM site had a lot of good ideas for that) in 8x8, which I have not done before. The ideas are starting to flow...!

Anyone else know what they are going to do?

I'm going to do a golf book for a Christmas gift. My DH and I, along with our friends, are going on a golfing trip next week. I had my DH do the ABCs just now, and I am working on the poetry. Since I don't play golf, I am the F=flag girl and cart driver and picture taker! Pray it doesn't rain, or I will have to find something else to do!

I'm trying out the idea of a quotes book - poems, songs, quotes, Dad's favorite words. I need to decide how I'm illustrating any of these, since I don't have photos to go with any of the ones I've found so far (except for Dad's favorite words, of course.)

If not that - it seems to me that I saw a Christmas list somewhere.

Getting pictures is a good idea Valeri! I bought two albums instead! LOL I'm going to try to do two albums. One for a young lady who went off to college this year. I'm going to use that Friendship poem that was on one of the site's Lauren shared and put pictures of her friends and family in it. The other one is for her almost four year old sister. The little girl is one who strongly dislikes having her picture taken so she isn't sure about me <grin> I thought I would make her one with pictures of her family and friends. For some of these I"ll need to take pictures! But I found nice albums for less then $5 at Michael's so I snatched them up!

I think I will do a Christmas album and give one to my sister and two brothers. I love anything about Christmas and have lots of pictures, old and new. This is going to be great! Thanks lauren for thinking of it.

Carolyn, the chat is scheduled for next week at the same time-9:00 PM EST. We are still supposed to be gathering everything together. Lauren said that if you were doing a child's album, you might want to wait until Oct. 1. A new kit is coming out. If you aren't doing a child's album, then we can go ahead and get started on the pages.

I kept it simple, using the same backgrounds for all the layouts (not very creative - but I wanted it finished for Leon's birthday which is tomorrow). I was so happy with how quickly it came together (thanks for those links to the lists). I plan to have some 6x6 cardstock at Leon's party for guest to write their best wishes in and then include that at the back of the album (there are a few spare pages).

Now I feel inspired to do one for Callum's fifth birthday :rolleyes:

I have just uploaded them all for anyone who wants to trawl through them all :eek:

great idea Sharon - I did similar - I have an album of index cards that printed out nice clip art on way back before I did scrapbooking - and I have had people write a note to hannah on various occasions - her birth, christening, 1st birthday and I will do the same on her 5th ( although my cards might be less clipart then and more scrapbook!!!)

I don't think it is actively going on, but why not start it up again for those who didn't get in on it the first time around! or those like me who meant to and who only made it up to D and flopped! lol

I did this challenge - just need to find the time to upload the layouts. I did mine in 5x7 and had a book printed by Shutterfly.com. It looks awesome!

No, its not currently an active challenge, but like I said before.. no reason why it can't be started up again. Unfortunately I don't have the time to coordinate this right now.. and as you can see by my gallery I never completed the last challenge. I have the master template already to go and the letters made, I just need to find the right photos and the right word for the next 20 letters, lol

Hi I did an Abc Album for my son who turns 4 today.
I took assorted photos from last year and mad it into a book with wishes for this year!

I had finished my 10 pages for the January challenge but forgot to post the link here. I want to do this again, it's a great way to get all your pictures in scrapbooks or albums and will upload the rest of the abc pages I did someday. I sometimes have problems uploading to this site so sometimes just let it go till later. This was so easy to do! I just had to pick a background and a few elements.
You can do special layouts for the challenges at DSP anytime with any of the pics, since you are supposed to copy them to use the power scrapping techinique, which I combined with the abc album challenge, so your originals are still available to work with.
I love the challenges here, I've learned so much from them, but with well over a thousand pictures to get into albums, I would need to live another 60 plus years to get them all into albums by doing them only in the challenges! LOL

I know that this is kind of an older challenge - if one anymore.....

I started an ABC album for my son and am frustrating myself. I'm not so sure if I like these three starter pages or not. Please forward any suggestions :-)

I'd like to get this done before the end of April, I have like 6 other mini albums I'm working on :-\. Just can't work on one thing at a time!!!

I really like what you have done.
But maybe add alittle color to the photos. Maybe just some accents and not the whoe Photo. Just to make it really pop!
