can anyone give me any input as to what I should look for in a camcorder I have to purchase one in a week or so and I really don't know what some of the features are it should have. If anyone has any suggestion I would so appreciate it. You know how those salesman try to talk you into things . I believe some of them have digitial camera with them also so would like to try and get the most for my money I would like to keep it under $500 hopefully . This is for a wedding to video it costs so much to have a professional do it thought I would go buy one myself and then I would have it. Please help me if you can Thanks you all have such great advise when people ask.

I recently got a digital camcorder and love it! Not only does it take great videos, but I can also take still photos with it. The great thing about a digital camcorder is that you use memory sticks that can be used to download the media onto your computer. Digital camcorders also come with cables and programs needed to directly connect the camera to your computer, if you dont have a card reader.
Prices range anywhere from $200-$800+, depending on what features you're looking for.

the stills on the digi camcorders generally suck :( i've only gtten a few good ones in 2+ years
i'd look for one with 3ccd chips. the color will be richer and truer.
i've got a canon myself and will be looking for something else soon. not that canon isn't good, I just need more quality (filming karate tournaments)
