i am brand new to the idea of digital scrapbooking but after looking thru these amazing galleries, i am convinced to try it out! i would like to know if one of the programs i have will work for now or if i will have to ask for one for xmas! i currently have ArcSoft Photoimpressions and i also have MGI PhotoSuiteIII SE. does anyone know about these or have any encouraging help? thanks!!
Hi,
Either one of the programs you already have should be okay to get you started. I looked at the PhotoSuite a while ago and it has all the capabilities for digital scrapping. So go to it, girl! and have fun! :)

Anything will get you started, and will be easier to complete those first few layouts if you already are familiar with it.
When you're ready to do more, just ask! I've written several times comparing the various graphic software, capabilities, price, so we can help you choose what's right for you.
After you do a coupla pages in your current software, we can point you to a free trial you can use for a month. You can try them all, or just one, it's up to you.
I also teach beginner classes for Adobe Photoshop and Photoshop Elements, and Jasc Paintshop Pro if you're interested in any of those programs. The trials are 30 days, so many of my students download one and take the class with it, sometimes all 3 classes, then decide which to buy.
Once you get started, you'll know better what you'd like to do long term, and that makes a difference in choosing software.
So glad to have you! Just post any questions here for getting your first layouts done, and we'll be more than happy to help you out!

Hi I am a newly addicted scrapper too..My SIL started me on this. I have made some calendars and such for gifts using stuff with Photo Explosion and Publisher....but since we have purchased our first digital...it has opened a whole new world. I love pictures of my kids....I have not been into paper scrapping as is seemed to crafty for me...but digital - Now that is a different story and right up my alley. We have had our new DSLR since the end of July of this year and we have now 1500+ pictures to work through. In fact I had to buy a DVD burner for them as our cd one was not great and I really didn't want to lose all those photos. I am new to PSE 3.0 too..so I may be asking for lots of HELP
I am now a working full time outside the home mom to 4 kids (Morgan 12, Joshua 6, Rebecca 3.5, and Maryn just turned 1 last month. My dh is a high school teacher and is really enjoying that he can now watch hockey, football, etc while I am addicted to digiscrappin'
