I'm compiling a scrapbook for my sister for Christmas. I worked on a page all night tonight for her book, the first digi page. I was fine and dandy until I go to the jounaling section. On the paper LO's I've been leaving the journal section blank so she can fill it it.
Should I do the same on the digi pages?
I worry about writing on the photo paper and not messing the page up. I guess I could include a pretty fine tipped sharpie with the gift. *shrug*
What do y'all think?

Humm.... tricky one :) Only time I have given as gifts I have done very generic type journaling (babys name, weight etc) and did a recipe book for family. Her I chose to address to my daughters - eg referred to my Mum and Dad as Granny and Grandpa and so on. Not very helpful I know, but interesting question you have :)

Here is a link to the page that threw me. It's a work in progress but I think just about done. I'm keeping her pages pretty simple if I can help it. I'm going to do a mirror image on the next page of Derek (Chris's son, my nephew) around those ages on the facing page.
Also, any suggestions for a little embellisment? Feels dry.

Include a small mat/paper precut to the size for her to write on and then use scrapbooking glue/tape to mount it onto the page.
Also, I don't print my digi layouts on photo paper. I print them on high quality ink jet printer paper. It looks JUST like other paper layouts. Maybe print on paper to make all the pages look the same. Just be sure to change the ink quality to BEST. :)
I agree on getting the right pen and the right paper. Don't use glossy if intending to write on it, a matte or luster/satin paper would be better. In a glossy page protector they all pretty much look the same anyway. The precut journaling block is a good idea too, just adhere it for her and let her write with any pen. Either idea would be fine, and if you put a journaling block on you can add some paper embellishments to it as well to bulk it up. Like some fiber, riboon, brads, eyelets, etc from your paper stash
