Which one do you have?
Have you heard of the Adesso Cybertablet12000?
I've heard of Wacom, What size is best?
I'm interested in buying one, and ebay has some listed, but I'm not sure what would come most recommended.
Any and ALL comments are appreciated.
Thanks!!
:D
I have a wacom, but mine is only the 4x5 pad. It works for me tho!
Wacom Graphire 4x5 (http://www.wacom.com/graphire/4x5.cfm)
I also have a small Wacom - and although I have drawn and trimmed using the mouse for years, I've found that I do like the results with the tablet - it takes some eye - hand co-ordination, but that comes with use. I like it when using the paintbrush also.

I recently bought the Wacom Graphire 4 tablet because the reviews said that it was the best value for money. I agree - it's a fabulous little thing :) I've only got the small version, but it's fine and the control is marvellous. Like Pam says, it's the co-ordination that takes some practice :)

I have the Waccom Graphire 4x5. I think it is great good size for me. I have no idea how I used to make a selection using a mouse before??!!. I'm so used to it that I use it for surfing etc.

I have a no name generic brand because I wasn't sure I would use it. I find I use it a lot now - especially when I am on the laptop - easier than a mouse when you are sitting on the couch!!

Oooh I hope you enjoy it Stephanie :) Remember, don't be put off by the strangeness of the movement, you will get used to it if you use it a little every day :)

I have the Wacom 4 x 5 as well and to be honest I haven't used it much but now that I have read that Sharon uses it sitting on the couch I am going to give it another shot.

i cannot wait! i use a laptop and once in awhile i'll move around the house (couch) and scrap, so that will be great! we're completely wireless in the house, so i'll have to get that figured out too!!!
i didn't realize that the pen actually replaces the mouse, so that is cool too!!! i just figured it was good for journaling, doodles, etc. but i guess i'll be using it alot!!!

I have the Wacom Intuous 3, 9x12 tablet.
The thing is HUGE. I found it pretty easy to adjust to the pen though ... I never use my mouse anymore, which is odd for me because I resist change like you wouldn't believe.
The only thing is ... I can't figure out why anyone would need a tablet this large. I mean, I'm grateful to my DH for getting it for me and I love the entire idea of the tablet, but the size ... it's just too big. I found it pretty difficult to maneuver my hand across the entire tablet, especially if I was extracting or using a layer mask or something like that. We had to adjust the settings so that I'm only using the bottom left hand portion of it, which I suppose equates to a 4x6 size?
Am I missing something? What is the benefit of such a large tablet? I hate to have something like this and not get the full benefit from it.

I have the Wacom Intuos 3 as well but the small one - 4X5. I think it is plenty big and I like it very much. I don't use it as much as I should and am trying to do more with it. It's great if you do a lot of selecting, cloning, etc.
I haven't tried drawing with it but plan to do so.

I just recently bought a tablet from eBay - but have really struggled with using it. It seems very awkward to me, but I am left handed and when I write (draw, etc.) I turn the paper at quite an angle and wondered if perhaps that was the reason. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Is there such a tablet where the item on your screen shows up right on the mouse pad?
Silly question ... but I'm a rookie! ;)
Thank you!

I just bought the Graphire 4 at Best Buy for $69.00 (4 X5) last week. I had wanted the Intuos 3 (4X5), but several articles I read (and I also wrote Wacom to confirm) recommend that size not be used if you were left handed. I was thinking of getting the 6 X 8, but wanted to stay with the smaller one. I wrote Wacom to see if they would be revamping the Intuos 3 ,4X5 for left handers, but they just recommended I get the 6 X 8 as they didn't know if it would be re-styled in the near future. I had wanted the features of the Intuos 3, but opted for the Graphire. Seems like a lot of people have the Grahire 4 and are happy with it. Being a new table user, figured it would be okay to start with it. I'm not having a problem using the my tablet even though I'm left handed. Seems to work ok. I guess I just watch the screen and don't focus on my hand or the tablet.

i am right handed, but tend to write and draw on angles.....i turn the tablet sometimes, but as dmrdm said, i usually watch the screen instead of focusing on my hand.....kinda like writing or typing....you'll get used to it, just keep playing!!

When I first started using my Wacom, I had a lot of trouble figuring out where on the pad matched up with where on my screen. Eventually, I opened up PSP, took a screen dump, and resized the image to fit under the clear 'glass' on the tablet... gives me a better idea of just where things are. Guess I'm just a visual person!!

Liz can you explain this a bit more please? Finding where the pad matches my screen is a challenge for me.
