Hi all,

Sorry about the lack of a challenge for this session - we had to give our sweet Zephyr girl (the Alpha Girl of our Samoyed Pack) back to God this past weekend and it's been a rough week to say the least. Rather than cutting it short for the next designer, we'll just pick it up with a featured designer again on the first. :)

In the meantime...

That memory list you've been keeping? Mine's been growing long just reading all of your layouts! Get one or two of those pages done. :) Mix it in with another challenge as well (lots will be ending on the 31st!). Check out the August Links button in my sig and see what memory will fit in to one of those many challenges!

I was wondering where you have been - I am so sorry for your loss.
Hugs, Melanie

Thanks, Melanie - it's amazing how pets weave themselves so tightly into our lives. We hadn't expected to lose her so quickly and suddenly - especially when she seemed to be doing so well. But each day, as we find routines without Zephyr, it gets a bit better.

I am so sorry for your loss Janet. Big cyber hugs for you.

Is it ok to go back and do one of the previous challenges that I didn't get done?

My deepest sympathies for your loss, Janet.. It is very difficult losing a beloved pet :(

Oh Janet, I am so sorry, losing a pet is so difficult. We lost our darling 16 1/2 year old Shetland Sheepdog in October 2002 & I am still grieving. We did get another charmer 2 1/2 years later but we still miss Lady. You know what dog is spelled backwards? One of my favorite sayings is "I want to become the person my dog thinks I am"

Mine isn't an entry because it doesn't follow the specifications for this challenge. But since it is a "book of me" I thought maybe some of you would like to take a look at it. These were actually the first digital scrapping pages I'd ever done, and it was for a challenge in my psp group. We were given a list of 10 pages that had to be included in the 'book' - ie - my family, my hobbies, etc. The last page was a glossary, a list of credits for the pages we did. It was such a challenge for me because I was so used to PAPER....lol.

Anyway, here it is if you'd like to see - http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=3115

Thank you all - I think the thing that was so hard about losing Zephyr was the suddenness of it. Expect a flood of layouts about her. ;)

:) Welcome! Glad you joined us! The Book of Me challenges are pretty loose here - so yes, it counts. You've got some pretty great pages there! This time around we don't have any bonuses, just the bonus of getting pages done.

I know how you feel Janet. We had to let go of my sweet Kenda last week, our first cat. It is hard to let go. I've been contemplating some layouts myself. They'd certainly be better memories than my last one of him.

Janet,

I am so sorry. I know how you feel - we had to do the same with Cooper last Novermber. He was "the best dog" - certainly for us. He was a lovely GS/Collie mix with a huge heart and wonderful personality. (He is the star of my very first digi layout, not my kids!)

Even when you know it is the right thing to do at the right time, it still hurts. A pet becomes part of your family and when you have to say good-bye, it can dredge up all sorts of memories and unresolved grief for people and pets lost to you sometime earlier in life. (According to my friend who is a social worker)

Sending you hugs, and my deepest condolences. Not really saying what I want, just know that I care and I really do know how hard this has been for you.

I'm so sad for all of you that have lost your pets. I've gone through it myself and know how difficult it is. I have TONS of scrapped pictures of my kitties and doggies....hopefully, we'll see TONS from you guys!
