OK who's into college football? Because I am!
There is one big game this weekend be sure not to miss. Texas vs. Ohio State. It should be a good one.

GO BUCKS!

*now I'm just waiting to hear from our resident Texas fan. Oh Amber?

Aaahhh - wrong OSU! I was thinking Oklahoma (which proves I'm not into college football or I'd know - without looking it up - that they don't play Texas until Oct!)

But I'm enough of a Sooner fan to get behind Beat Texas! Go Bucks!!!

I'm not into college football but I AM A BUCKEYE!!! And my kids' closets are full of OSU clothes, hoodies, jackets, etc. My son wants to go to school there. I personally went to BGSU but would love for him to go to OSU! BTW, where's the recipe for the buckeye casserole?!?! Love to see that!!

GO BUCKS! GO BUCKS! GO BUCKS! GO BUCKS! GO BUCKS! GO BUCKS!

Sing with me...

Oh come let's sing Ohio's praise
And songs to Alma Mater raise
While our hearts rebounding thrill
With joy which death alone can still
Summer's heat or winter's cold
The seasons pass the years will roll
Time and change will surely show
How firm thy friendship ... OHIO!

GO BUCKS!!!

I don't want to sound disloyal at all -- I am an Ohio girl born and raised; but I did live in Austin for a couple years when Roger Clemens went to school there. I LOVED that guy!! Him and his buddy, Calvin Schiraldi (don't know whatever became of him after his fabulous save for Boston!?!?!). Anyway, I did go to all their home baseball games and I don't usually mind admitting my age when I can refer to knowing him then! --Vicki (Allen, I like your GO BUCKS!!! better than mine!)

BTW, where's the recipe for the buckeye casserole?!?! Love to see that!!

This is actually my own recipe. We fix it every Saturday for the game and it's always a big hit.
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of chicken soup
2 large chicken breasts cooked and diced
1 can refried beans
1/2 jar salsa
Mix the above in a large bowl.
In a casserole dish, put a thin layer of tortilla chips
Pour a layer of the above mixture over chips and spread with shredded mozerella cheese
Layer chips again
Layer mixture and cheese again
Layer chips and cheese on top and bake @425 for 20 minutes

Bon Appetit

Oh Allen, that song just makes gives me get gooseflesh and tears swell up in my eyes. I LOVE that song. (Can you tell I'm a diehard?) LOVE your avatar too Allen, that fire hydrant just cracks me up. I've GOT to have one of those. And I need it before the game. We're going to a big party tomorrow night. I can put it outside for all the men. LOL. Hey why don't men ever use the perfectly good indoor johns?
Great Avatar too Margie. I think tomorrow we three should smother the boards with our avatars! Thanks for the recipe, sounds yummy!

I LOVE college football. Growing up in Big XII country (actually it was Big 8 when I grew up and Texas wasn't apart of it then), I must root for the Big XII team. Hook 'em Horns! Although, I will say this...I'm not a fan of Texas football any other time. :) And my Big XII football team stinks...but they're good at basketball! *lol* Rock Chalk Jayhawk baby! March is only 6 months away...

My TRUE love for college football would be Notre Dame. Yep...can't go for OSU, sorry!

Oh, MommySpice -- and you seemed like such a NICE girl!!!! :(

I was at the movies on the Saturday that Notre Dame broke Bud Wilkinson's OU winning streak. It was a kiddie movie, and they stopped the film, turned on the lights, and announced the loss. There were sobs in the theater. Made a big impression on my young brain.

Seriously, during Wilkinson's time, the score was announced periodically in any store/place in Oklahoma that had a PA system. The preceding story was absolutely true .... well, maybe the sobbing part was a bit exaggerated. ;) :D

P.S. For anyone who's never lived in a college-football-crazy state, my high school team used to fill a 2,000 seat stadium on Friday nights!

P.P.S. And, when we lived in Kentucky, we saw the basketball version of state-wide insanity. :p

We're recruiting fans, yeah!!! The more the merrier. We had soccer today too Margie. And then a birthday party. Now prepping for OSU party wear.

Since we're going down memory lane......My very first game my father took me and we sat up at the top of the stadium with the cops. As the game progressed there was a player that stood out above them all. He had extraordinary talent. I remember my father grabbing the binoculars from me to take a look at the player more closely. He kept saying, "Who is this guy, he's great!" Looking over the program we found his name. A freshman. I remember hearing his name announced alot that day. And several years following. Archie Griffin.

wow, archie! he came to allen's work a few years ago!! they were printing the osu alumni magazine. they got it all clean and dressed up and all that, but not allen. he decked his whole office in osu stuff, (already was really) but he brought our welcome mat and hung stuff everywhere. archie walked by and stopped and checked it out! then he signed allen's griffin jersey! we have a pic of him signing it too, so fun! :)
btw, fumble!!!!!!!!!
