I was having a harder and harder time seeing anything on my monitor, so I got a new one today - a sweet, skinny, flat screen. I can't believe the color, vividness, etc.....
 BUT - GUESS WHAT???? This is the embarassing part.......
My old monitor was so far gone, that I was compensating for it's darkness, etc without knowing it. Today I logged on the view my gallery and my layouts look TERRIBLE!!! All the adjusting I did washed out all my layouts, made the colors all wonky, etc.... and I had no idea!!!! And I went through NKOTB5 with my messed up layouts, without even knowing.
How embarassing!! Needless to say, I'll be 're-scrapping' everything. Oh man!

Oh I'm so sorry to hear about the layout, I know it will be more work for you but on the bright side congrats on the monitor, I had tried getting a flat panel monitor once and it was not compatible with my computer so I thought it kept messing up and sold it, cheaply thinking it wasn't too good, imagine my shock when it worked beautifuly in my friends computer :(
Hmmmm, next time I'm going for a new computer first, LOL

I thought I had posted a reply - but obviously with the baby distracting me it got lost... If it is a double reply sorry!
Wanted to say - Oh dear. You have some lovely layouts in the gallery so I really do hope you can adjust the colours (hopefully you have copies of your layouts in their original layer format).
Like Dee I think your monitor loving kitty might not be as thrilled about the skinny flat monitor though!

Wow sorry about your layouts all looking different. At least you're on the right track now with a new monitor. Have you tried printing any of them?? They might look different again. I tend to have the problem when I print, everything comes out looker much duller than they do on screen. Screen seems to really illuminate them. Good luck anyways :)

Oh I've had that problem, it's sometimes either duller, or darker, and on a few rare occasions too bright, alot of times it's where you get them printed but I try to stick to the same place for printing and have learned 90% of the time to compensate for what I think might be the issue before I send it out to print.

I just wanted to add.. that I have my daughter's flat screen hooked up to my laptop and that flatscreen has the colors so saturated..it's like my layouts are glowing...so a suggestion, make sure you've got the flatscreen calibrated before you change your layouts.. maybe the flatscreen isn't right either :)
ah, here's where ADJUSTMENT layers are your best friends!
you add a Levels or Hue/Sat adjustment layer on TOP of all your other layers to adjust the contrast/brightness. Then the Hue to fix the colors. You have a mask on those so you can paint black over the areas you DON'T want to change
it'll save you a ton of time rather than redoing it all
