please help with font thing

I am trying to install fonts into the font thing, and I seem to be unable to.
Here is what I did.

Downloaded font from internet to the font thing. Now I can't find it.

I also tried-
Downloaded font from internet into a font folder. When I am in the font thing, I can't seem to open the font folder.

Anyone know what to do?

I am not familiar with Font Thing, or how it works. However, have you tried using the same steps as you would when installing new fonts to your fonts folder? Also, personally, I always find it much easier to download/unzip fonts to my desktop before installing them. I know where to find them, and they don't get sucked into the black whole of my computer. After I install I just clear of my desktop by moving stuff to my Recycle Bin.

This is how I install new fonts, maybe these steps might help you with Font Thing: 1) download and/or unzip fonts to your Desktop. 2) Go to Control Panel: open Fonts Folder. 3) Click File: Install New Fonts. 4) Find and select Desktop in your C drive. The fonts on your desktop should appear in the List Of Fonts. 5) Click Select All Fonts. Click OK.

I download all my fonts to a "fonts" folder that is in "my documents" NOT the windows font folder. I do not put them in the windows font folder because when you uninstall a font in The Font Thing it takes the font to the recycle bin.

So then in The Font thing, I click on the browse tab and in the address bar I navigate to the font folder in my documents. For me this is C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\MARY\MY DOCUMENTS\FONTS\SCRIPT-CURSIVE\

So you can see that inside my font folder I have a folder called script-cursive. Once I navigate to that folder I can see all the fonts there. When I see the font I want to use I can right click on it and select install. This will install the font into the windows font folder, also keeping it in my folder. If I unstall it later, The Font Thing takes it out of the windows folder to the recycle bin. It still remains in my font folder.
