Well, you wouldn't be the first to say that, but I'd like to know - which one is which if that was the case? I can see where Pete (lower right) might look a little George Harrisonish at this resolution, but I can't match up the others.

Ha Ha!! Elizabeth, you had better explain for the uninitiated!! (or more like the younger people here!) :)

Smulley, they were contemporaries of the Beatles, part of the British invasion, a little behind the Beatles though. They formed in 1962 but didn't hit the big time until 1966. Best known for Wild Thing, Love is All Around, I Can't Control Myself, Night of the Long Grass, Give It To Me, heck I usually can't remember which were the hits because I like the album cuts better. They still play live shows in GB and on the continent, with two original members, and two other guys that have been with them longer than those who they replaced. But they had tons and tons of photo sessions with the original lineup so that's who people think of as the Troggs, and that's who are in my avatar.

Thanks for explaining about the Troggs. Guess I never really knew who sang those songs. My husband is from England and I just asked if he knew who they were and he didn't. I told him they sang Wild Thing and he said "they did???" That was my reaction too! I am definitely not the younger sect but would still like to be in that category so thanks!!! I did grow up on what is now considered classic rock and still listen to that primarily.

You're welcome, Smulley! I didn't know who they were either until I was 18 or so and a record store clerk convinced me I'd love them. I had probably heard Wild Thing but it wasn't on the album he convinced me to buy, which was Love is All Around. He was right, I was crazy about it right from the start!
