Woohoo!!! We have our own forum & gallery!!! :D :D :D So, what's Odds'n'Ends with Chicks'n'Mars all about??
Well first, the chicks part is me :D and Mars is MarsOlson. We had a few ideas for running some challenges and decided instead of doing them on and off, to instead run an ongoing challenge with different themes each time. That's the Odds'n'Ends part cos we don't know what themes yet :D
Those who know us will also know we're deadline-challenged :D so there will be 2 weeks or more deadline for our challenges so about 2 challenges a month. Some months, we may have another easy month-long challenge running alongside these challenges. And there will usually be PRIZES! cos I just LOVE prizes :D Watch out for the Chicken Surprise Prize too!! But I can't tell you more about that or even how to win it cause that's the surprise! (perhaps I shouldn't even have mentioned it.. oops! sorry tante Mars!)
Anyway, on to our first challenge! Details in the next thread...

I'm sure anything the two of you team up to do will have all of us rolling on the floor trying to catch our breath!! We are in for some MAJOR fun here!! You forgot to mention another chix/mars-ism and that would be the Queens of Multiple Duty!! Not double-duty or even triple-duty but multitple-multiple-duty! I was really impressed with the layout of her Mother that Mars did. Not only was it a beautiful piece of artwork, she listed NINE challenges where she was using it!! Now that has got to be a record! Maybe that could be a future challenge but then we would all lose going up against you two MASTERS of the game!!! Lots of luck and thanks for keeping things fun around here!! --Vicki

Thanks, Vic! :D We'll try our best to keep you guys, if not rolling on the floor, at least on your toes!!!
Hey multiple-duty challenge is a cute idea! We're constantly looking to improve our skills :D so if any of you guys did a mars-vellous multiple-duty LO, feel free to post here for us to ooh and ahh and envy over! Links to LOs that scrap the deadlines (talking about less than 60 seconds) are welcomed too! Beating the deadline by seconds is an art by itself!
We also welcome any theme/challenge ideas that you'd love to see so feel free to post them here too...

Thanks LisasMom, lil grasshopper has taught me well how to double up! I'm always trying to race her to last place and that's hard to time exactly right! however I finally I got a lo with more challenges than her!!
I have to agree with Chick that it's a talent to post exactly on time but it's not for the fainthearted and the stress of never knowing how long that upload will take has added a few more grays! My last attempt showed up with one second to go. I impressed myself but now I have set the bar high.
My next goal will have to be to go the other direction and maybe try being the first at least once! that's going to be quite a challenge for me! see you at the finish line.

How do you synchronize your time keeping device with DSP's then? If you can get within one second there's got to be a way to cut it that close! ;)

umajo it would be great if you could put a link to your zodiac lo in the thread with the current challenge found here: First Challenge: What's Your Sign - the Zodiac Challenge (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18298). We would love if you put it in our Odds n Ends (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=3365) gallery however If your lo is doing double duty for other challenges it is fine to put it in another gallery as long as we can find your link.

Okay - is there where I should make suggestions for future challenges? If not I'm going to do it anyway! Maybe you should do a "Glamour" shots challenge. Either have people do their "real" Glamour shots or do like I do and paste your own (or someone else's) puss on another body!

Oh good one, Paula! Our next challenge *may* be something you can do that in! And such a coincidence! I was just thinking to set up a thread for suggestions!

I know this really isn't the challenge, but I think I'm gonna try some multitasking. I've done 3 challenges in one, but never more than that!

Well be sure to let us know if you do a mars-vellous one, Erin!!! :D

I've set up a Suggestions thread so feel free to put up any ideas there of what you'd like us to do for the next few challenges.

Are Newbies allowed in? This looks like fun! I am just finishing up NKOTB7 and find that I am more likely to get some croppin' done if I have something to focus on. Being the goal-oriented type-A personality that I am, I like the idea of regular challenges. I tend to put things off and then scramble to make the deadlines, but I will never be offering any competition to Mars for her 1 second skin-of-her-teeth entry! (mandc bows to the queen of procrastination!)

Ooooh Yeah! I just got my "been around this place" moniker--no longer a "new to this placer"--yeah!

LOL that sounds like a good title, I was growing fond of the nickname neaker gave me but this one is sounding good. You are more than welcome to join the OnE challenges. We have a couple a month so jump right in. :)

looks like fun times here! I can't wait to jump in and I'm already thinking up a LO that will do double or triple duty :D
Ann, I have a question for you... I see that you scrap 10x8 landscape. That is the size I want to scrap but I've been doing 8x8 because I haven't found a landscape oriented album to put my pages in. Make my day and tell me where you find them!

Oh dear, I'm afraid I wont be able to help you much there, Michelle as I'm looking too myself! I originally thought I could just use self-adhesive photo albums but have been told that that's a no-no for LOs. We dont have scrapbook albums here in Brunei (in whatever size!) and I havent done any printing so far till I can find a solution. The good news is I think I've gotten my solution with DSP's new Photobook Creator product. Although they dont have 10x8 covers now, I understand they are very likely to come out with those soon. So sorry I cant be of more help...

My apologies, Michelle - its not 10x8 size that DSP may be coming out with (although of course they well may be) but 8.5x11. I've decided this is probably the best solution I can get and will just ignore the small leftover space..
