For the next 2 weeks (today till Oct 28th midnight), either Mars or I will be randomly asking questions in this thread. The first person to post the correct answer will get 1 point and whoever accumulates the most points at the end of the 2 weeks would win a Gift Cert to the DSP Store! In the event of a tie, there will be a tie-breaker question and again, the first person to answer will win.

There could be 1 or 2 or more questions everyday or perhaps 1 every few days so make sure you keep an eye on this thread! Everyone can play, whether or not you've joined our challenge so we hope to see lots of you joining in the fun!

Hmm...I think we'll have a little number guessing game this time! First the scenario, one that had Mars and I in insane hilarity for a couple of hours! Mars and I were deadlining as usual earlier before midnight EST. We were both rushing to upload our LOs and......horror of horrors! DSP site was down!! Imagine our desperation as the clock was ticking by fast (I was imagining bonuses waving bye-bye and Mars was throwing her PC against the wall!) Midnight came and went and we still kept trying to upload. The site finally went up again and.... LOLOLOL we discovered that quite a few of our tries had actually gone through and there were multiple copies of our LOs in the gallery! (OK, so this may not seem so funny to others but Mars and I just found the sight of all our LOs in the gallery totally crazily hilarious esp after the past hour's stress and frustration!) So after my long-winded story, my question is.... exactly how many copies of of our LOs altogether were there in the galleries?

You may guess multiple times but to prevent one person throwing answers from 1 to 1000, there should be at least 10 mins lapse in between each of your answers.

LOL you guys have me laughing all over again. Great guessing and equations... I have been waiting and waiting for Chick to wake up on the other size of the world. I think the attack of the clones did us in last night! I took screenshots of the event.. the entire gallery with 15 per page showed all mars and chick los with a couple more on another page. The same 2 over and over. lol.

Anyway it wasn't quite the enormous numbers of some guesses... luckily we only tried off and on for about an hour... lucky because we had to delete them one by one so as not to leave those icky empty thumbnails.

Wen - Here is something that might help (or overwhelm you). Each month there is a thread that is updated with all of the ongoing challenges, etc.

I also find it helpful to start at the very top of the Forum and wotk my way down. I usually look at the designer chat/challenges. Each designer has a link to the challenges they run on an ongoing basis:

In addition, I bought myself one of those BIG desk blotter size calendars (with blank dates to fill in) and hung it on the wall. It has plenty of room for me to write the name of the challenge, chat times, deadlines for layouts, etc. I also mark down if a posting bonus has been received, etc. I'd be lost without my calendar. LOL

That way you just work your way down the list.

I'm VERY impressed with tante Mars though! She does it all in her head and manages to keep them straight!!

OMG I am in AWE of this spreadsheet! I LOVE organizing myself thru Excel, to the point that my fiance has threatened to remove it from my harddrive! But, I had never thought to use it to keep track of DSP challenges! I just make sure that I never have more than one or two on the go at once, and stick a little sticky on my desk-side scribble book with the date and details. It only gets bad when someone else throws the notes out thinking they are garbage! (When they go missing the person responsible for it is always a nice man named "Not Me," and seeing as there are only 2 of us in the house....)
