I use Photo Impact, probably the least popular software program! Because there are so few tutorials, etc. using PI, any idea what program is the most compatible? Thank you!

I don't think any program is compatable with it (as in drag and drop from one program to another)
but if you save your layouts as a layered .tiff (hopefully photo impact can save layered .tiff) you can then import it into any other program that supports layered .tiff, like photoshop or photoshop elements.

hope this answered your question

I was meaning, if I were to learn from a tutorial, which program would be the most compatible? I know the tools may have different names and sometimes look the same, but I was hoping to figure it out. I have been able to figure some things out with a Jasc Paint Shop Pro book I have, so maybe I'll just stick with it. Thank you!

Faithfully,

Dawn

Photo Impact has a website that will lead you to tons of tutorials. Just google it!

I'm using PhotoImpact which is the most popular scrapbooking software here in Germany and there is also a huge tutorials source, unfortunately in German only. When I started almost 2 years ago I didn't know anything about tutorials and had to figure out the whole thing myself and it was relatively easy to learn, much easier than Photoshop CS I tried before. The only technique I had to do tutorials for was blending images together.
As for compatiblity,I would suggest to go through DIP tutorials.Basically, both programs have a lot of common.

Thank you for your replies!

Joann, if all else fails, google it-right? lol Why didn't I do that sooner?

Colorella, thank you for suggesting DIP, I didn't think of it. Now, will those 6 years of German in high school and college pay off? Too bad that was 15 years ago and I've forgotten most of it. :) It is somewhat comforting knowing it is a popular program though.

I just got version 11, it has a new cd with tons of scrapbooking elements. I can't wait to learn more with PI. I really do like this program!

Thanks again!
