I have a Fantasy Series in the store - fun, kiddie friendly colours. My idea when designing them was for you to be able to quickly put story books together as a gift for the child in YOUR life!

Now I have done them, I want you to go, take a look, and tell me what you would like to do with friendly colours. My idea when designing them was for you to be able to quickly put story books together as a gift for the child in YOUR life!

Now I have done them, I want you to go, take a look, and tell me what you would like to do with them - what sort of story books would you make? what sort of pages? Also what other sets would you like? I have thought of wild animals (living where I do, they are dear to my heart!) farm animals, maybe a tractor or so as well?

Hopefully, when you are done thinking you will be dying to make a story book yourself so to get these covers FREE (size 8x8 and 6 x 12) you need to do the following:

~ Post your suggestions here (http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/forum/showthread.php?p=204617#post204617.html)
~ post a page using any of the kits in the series in the gallery
~ IMPORTANT!!! pm the two links to me and I will give you the download link

Birthday cards and party invitations!!!

well, at our chat, we piggy backed some great ideas.........these kits are great for kids and Christmas is coming....so, print on transfer paper and iron on jammies and t shirts and sweat shirts....great for all the babies and kids. they love the bright and bold colors...and good for girls and boys. and, you can print out the elements on cardstock or paper and let the kids cut out with kid safe scissors...they can paste on layouts and create pages for thier familys for Christmas.
these would be great for birthday cards, invitations, gift wrap, thankyous, and print the transfers and make books for children if you are handy with a sewing a straight line. and if you wish to teach an older child to sew, let them help you since they are quick and easy.
so, have some holiday fun, make pages for your family, have small children join in the fun, and let older children accomplish fun presents too. great kits for kids

I can't scrap a layout with these yet (I'm focusing on the BCA this week, getting ready for it), but I will soon.

One idea I'd love to see in an additional kit...TRUCKS! I have two little boys and cute trucks and heavy machines would be well used with these two.

Also, for boys or girls, but maybe a tad more girls as I know a LOT of girls into them....HORSES/PONIES. I have a niece that could have a whole album with horses and ponies.

These are so cool and brought back memories of the Fuzzy Felts I had as a kid.

Love your idea for a Wild Animals theme - Giraffes & Zebra's please. Also the ideas for farm and truck sets are cool.

How about:

- Ballet Dancers (male & female) - basic body shape in different ballet poses with different dresses/tunics (ie short tutu, long tutu), stage curtains and some props for effects.
- Castle, King, Queen, Prince, Princess, Dragon
- Dress Up Doll
- Family Tree set - Big tree for the background (trunk and branches), leaves & acorns (which could have names added to them)
- Musical Instruments - Horns, Strings, Wind, Drums, Piano, Guitar & notes, clefs etc
- Pirates
- Noah's Ark - could be combined with the animal sets.
- Airport, Train's

Trains and cars would be good! And you could always do another princess kit too (I know there are some in the store...but these new kits of yours have a different look so we could use another!). Maybe blocks too.

Reposting here as requested!

A few suggestions for more storybook pages... Anything with cars, trucks, dumptrucks, dirtmoving machines (like your doodley boy things) to place in the landscape scenes with child inside. A dollhouse with dolls for little girls to be placed in. A playground. A lake or ocean scene with dock and boats for fishing or swimming stories.

LOL Fiona - I'm glad someone else remembers fuzzy felts! I would love some big felt letters and numbers (great for abc and 123 books). The Fridge magnet set is cool - but it would be great to have something with a fabric look similar to the other shapes - maybe with a sewn look?
Beach theme would be good (with summer coming up here) - sand dunes, shells, crabs, dolphins, whales, umbrellas....

I would love to see a collection of zoo animals, especially a big green crocodile with a cheesy grin.

Meryl,

I would love to see something similar in a Christmas LO in the 4x6. It would be great to put those special christmas pictures in and give as Christmas presents. The store has lots of kits for Christmas but nothing that reminds me of my childhood memories of christmas. Rudolph, Frosty, snowflakes, tree, lights..big ones. lol the day before the cool mini ones. I could go on and on but I think it would look great in felt.

Here is my 2nd LO using both Happy NooNoos and Pretty Basics. I also bought the fridge magnets which look great with this and can't wait to use them in another LO.

It would be awesome if you would make some more items for these kits...they are so much fun. I would LOVE some wild animals... especially a parrot, and a brown bear, lion, monkey with a banana, how about a cockatoo? That would be awesome. Also some domestic animals...dog, cat, horse, cow, a pig and bunny...oh and a duck would be sooo cute. There could be LOTS of kits with animals! A barn, pond, snow, evergreens, moon, stars...OMG I could go on and on! And it would be sooo much fun with the felt...looks sooo real! A plane with an ocean, dolphins and whales, what fun for a trip overseas. I just love how happy and bright these are and how it lets me be a little girl again! :-)

already sent these to you via PM. Just copying them here.

I was thinking maybe fairy princess. I love the dinosaurs but they are more for boys. If we could add like a wand, crown, maybe a bug wearing a tutu (ballerina) would be really cute.

I also love the farm animals idea. Right now my kids are way into the sounds of the animals.

ohh what about cars, roadway, signs this would be really cute.

I thought of another idea. How about bears. like teddy bears. They are really popular where you dress them up in different clothes.

I think this series is fantastic and will be doing at least two different albums, both for boys. I hesitate to list my ideas because I think everyone else has already listed them - however, I would definately like to see trains and maybe those four wheel drives you see on safari. Looking forward to getting all the kits eventually.

I am ready to make my albums for all four of my grandchildren and need the album cover-LOL!! So here are my suggestions.

Ethan loves cars and trucks so we need lots of those.
Xander is still a baby so sweet rattles and baby toys?
Bethany is all girl so a dolly theme maybe.
Jonah was way into trains which he called din dins.

Very personal but there you go!

I mentioned in the other thread that I want to make a "Book of Me" for my nephew for Christmas with the Fantasy Landscape kits. Extras I'd love to add to his book include cars and trucks, tractors, dogs, fruits and veggies (similar to Veggie Tales, with eyes, noses and mouths), and trains.

I think it may have been mentioned before but I would like a fuzzy felt alpha and numbers as well. Maybe beach scenes, playground scenes, circus animals and big top, generic kit with trees, fences, gates, flowers, dirt, rocks etc.

How about a rainbow, pot of gold, 4 leaf clover, and "lucky charms" lol

Or maybe fairy tale scenes... like a set for goldy locks & 3 bears, or cinderella, snow white.. etc... a castle, dragon,

Trains was at the top of my list, but I found that you had one in the store already & I got!
Butterflies and birds

Boy stuff (trucks, cars, planes, wagon, turtle, frog, etc

Girl stuff ( dolls, baby animals, etc

Baby stuff (new baby, big brother or sister, blocks, footprints, birth info card, etc.

Christmas morning kit

Pets...I have tow Pugs

Winter snow scene with snowman, sled, mittens, etc.

I could go on and on, but I'm sure you get the idea.

An ABC book would be my idea for a book theme with items starting with each letter.

Thank you for the wonderful kits! They will bring much enjoyment to many.

I just thought of another one...since the look of these elements is very much like felt, how about some little felt dolls. Or even the body with a frame for the head so that we can put pics of faces in them. Body parts (arms, legs and torso) all separated so that they could be posed in any way we want might be cool. Then you could go really nuts and create little hats, caps, shoes, hair, gloves, clothes....the possibilities are endless :D

To add to the castle, fairytale theme - a unicorn please.

ArcaneFaery
11-06-2006, 10:41 PM
faeries (already mentioned, as were dragons), gnomes, pegasus, griffyns, um....gnomes! elves, or some cute adorable made-up character......

or reallllllly cute mouses with big innocent eyes, koala bears, pandas, (a wildlife theme.....maybe....I know my son LOVED learning about the animals when he was a toddler/preschooler.....) I taught him much of the alphabet with animals!

something with emotions.........happy, excited.......

All children have their favorite somethings.......even though these things can range from a blanket to a toy to a person.....something to reflect such an attachment in general would be cute. Rowan's was a yellow CareBear blanket that I never got a picture of I don't think, which is terrible because I have a LOT of stories about it....could't go to sleep with out it and oooooh my the time she got mad at her Mom and threw it out the car window and I didn't know until bedtime.......that was NOT fun. LOL.

Nicole likes songs....especially lullabyes...always has...something inspired from a few good classic children's melodies?

Meryl...I would love to have a red felt heart that has "Loves" stitched in it for my "Who Loves Madison" book...Felt Letters would be awesome also... to more follow the felt book or felt board theme!!!

Thanks for all the suggestions :) Those who suggested a Christmas kit - your wish is granted Fantasy Christmas Feltboard (http://store.digitalscrapbookplace.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=4149.html) and
Fantasy Christmas Feltboard Add On Pack (http://store.digitalscrapbookplace.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=4150.html) are now in the Store - I do hope you are happy with them

I have had lots suggesting a felt alpha & I love the idea! My concern though - felt is NOT easy to change the colour with, because of its texture its not very "pure" colour if you get what I mean? Some pieces are better than others but tricky and not perfect. With an alpha this is a problem - say for example I make a red M - Mummy has 3 M's - all red? I suppose one could make a one coloured alpha - but then id that what you want? I can picture it - pinked edges, could be so cute. Help with this colour thing?

You are getting GOOD at the sweet faces. Santa and Mrs. Santa look so cute.

As for the felt Alphp, I don't mind the same letters being the same colors. Especially if the capital of that letter is a different color.

I'd like to see some water and sweet little birds that don't eat NooNoo's! Also, a plane, and, as I mentioned before, Noah's Ark would be very popular. A felt boat would do! What you've done so far is great, Meryl! Thanks! I'm thinking beyond Christmas...oh, how about bunnies?

Oh yeah...as far as the Felt Alpha...I am liking what you are seeing!!! I think one color would be fine...suggestion...not sure if it would work or not...but how about maybe a white felt...and then maybe some felt dots or hearts and rickrack that you could customize the letters with...not sure how technical that would get though...just a thought...I like the pinked edges though...and one color would not be bad...I just thing the Felt Letters would help with the theme of the book or "Felt Board" ... I also like the Noah's Ark...I remember those from Sunday School...how cool that would be!!! or Manager Scene...man oh man the possibilities are endless aren't they!!!

Whisper Pink
11-12-2006, 11:14 AM
Ok...me again...two other thoughts on this alpha thingy...again not sure on the technigical part of it...so sorry about that...

comment 1: what about an alpha you could fill kinda like the custom chipboards...but not a chipboard of course...does that make sense...and do a backpack of felts we purchase separately or

Comment 2: I would be willing to purchase multiple felt alphas...not sure what others think of this ... but a thought...I know that is alot of work!!!

It would be cool if the custom type felts would work...cause that could work for a calico fabric type alpha also...it would be such a versital alpha!!!

Meryl
11-12-2006, 10:34 PM
Humm.... now you got me thinking..... a customisable one? lets see what I can do there!

Here is my first page I have experimented for this fabric book I want to make my Granddaughter...I would really like some honest feedback on this...as I would really like it perfect for her...I think if Meryl comes up with something for a felt type alpha I may change that out for that...thanks for looking and any feedback you can give me!!!

I remember felt boards. I loved mine and still have it. I'm going to pass it on to my kids when they're a little older.

Would love to see trucks, diggers, trains and mermaids.
