Duplicating elements

How do you duplicate an element without having to add it over and over again?

Which program are you using? You should be able to duplicate the element using any graphics programs, but the answer will be different for each one.

There are a few ways, through the menus, clicking the mouse, or keyboard shortcut.

Go to Layers>Duplicate, or click and drag the layer from the palette down to the New Layer icon at the bottom of the palette, or hit Ctrl-J

If you hold down the ALT key and and when yo mouse over the element you will see double arrows then just click and drag and you'll drag the new image away from the old one. This is my FAV shortcut.
