For Christmas I want to have a bound book made (actually 3 copies) of a paper book that was made several years ago. It was 12 x 12 and I want to make sure it is done by someone reputable, since it would be quite a loss if something happened to the paper book, since it was one made for a 50th anniversary gift and many of the photos aren't replaceable. Any suggestions? I am looking for qualitity as care of the original as my first criteria, not the cheapest place.

Are you looking for a company to scan the layouts? I personally would go through a local company for scanning something like an old picture. I simply would trust the post office or ups with somthing like that.

I would find a local place to scan as MM suggested. You can then upload the files to our hardbound book service.

I guess I was hoping to find someone who could do the whole thing. I have a
8 1/2 x 14 scanner, but finding the the time to scan & stitch all the pages would be difficult. I live in a small town, so I don't think there is anywhere I could get it done locally. Indianapolis is about an hour a way, but I don't know how to even start looking for someone there who could tackle the scanning.

This is something I normally do with my scanning business, but right now I'm full up through January, if not February. Ask at a local photo store if they might know of some one who could help with the scanning part. They might know of someone that could help out.
